Ch. 45 What is your full name?

Imhotep stared at the two males with a thoughtful gaze. He is trying to figure out how to approach Felicia without making her look at him with anger and distrust. Then again, he should expect it since he took her away from her loved ones.

Demir rubbed his chin, trying to figure out what he should say to Imhotep without making the immortal King look like an embarrassing fool in front of Felicia. He didn't want to risk the Godly figure turning his anger onto him and Beni.

" Maybe in the morning when she gets better, you can send her to the dining room and have breakfast with her?" Beni speaks, causing Demir and Imhotep to stare at him.

" She would probably want to eat breakfast alone," Demir responded.

Imhotep nods his head in response. He knew it would take a while for Felicia to trust him.

" Ah," Beni mumbled, realizing that Felicia didn't want to be anywhere near Imhotep since he kidnapped her from her loved ones.

" Maybe. Can you have a servant befriend her? Someone you can trust that will protect her and would be there for her when you aren't busy?" Demir asked. " Since I doubt she would stay cooped up in her chambers," He looked at Imhotep in the eyes.

Imhotep's light brown eyes intently stared at Demir's dark brown eyes. He didn't know why, but something in him was telling him to appoint the other male as Felicia's bodyguard.

" You," Imhotep firmly speaks.

" Me?" Demir raised an eyebrow while pointing at himself.

" Him?" Beni asked for the heck of it.

" If I have you befriend her, you can tell me all that she likes and dislikes?" Imhotep looked at Demir with a hopeful gaze.

Demir lightly bites his lips since he doesn't know what to say to Imhotep. He glanced at Beni, remembering that the reason he was helping the immortal King was that he could survive and reunite with his daughter, who was waiting for him to come back home.

" I will be honest with you, Sire. It will take time for her to trust me since she knows that Beni and I are your loyal servants," Demir intently stared at Imhotep.

" Take as long as you need to have her trust you," Imhotep responded.

Demir hummed in response. He lifted his head and noticed that the evening sky was changing, which let him know it was now Tuesday, July 13, 1926.

" I assure you, Sir, that I will take good care of Felicia," Demir looks down to stare at Imhotep.

" If something happens to Feli under your eye, you will suffer my wrath," Imhotep firmly speaks.

Demir stood his ground while staring at Imhotep intently.

Beni warily stared at Demir and Imhotep, sensing tension rising between the two males.

" I am aware of the consequences," Demir responded.

" If you can, when she slumbers, tell me all you know about her each day?" Imhotep asked.

" Of course," Demir nods his head in response.

Beni frowned. He didn't know why but he felt scared for Demir since he got tasked to befriend and watch over Imhotep's object of affection. He shoved his fearful thoughts away, thinking he was only worried because he remembered that Demir has a reason to live, which is to be back with his daughter.

" Good. The townsfolk would soon awake. I suggest you head to the palace and to Feli's chambers to introduce yourself to her," Imhotep firmly speaks.

Demir nods his head in response. He glanced at Beni, seeing the other male, giving him a shaky thumbs up and a nervous smile. He looks away and walks past Imhotep, heading to the palace.

" You," Imhotep turns his attention to Beni, causing him to whelp in fright.

Demir turned his head back while walking when Imhotep spoke to Beni. He couldn't help but wonder what the immortal King wanted with the tall, skinny male.

" Yes?" Beni warily stared at Imhotep.

" What is your full name?" Imhotep asked.

Demir raised an eyebrow at Imhotep's question.

Beni's wary gaze shifted to Demir, seeing him walking, but he noticed the shorter, muscular male stare at him from the corner of his dark brown eyes.

" My name-My name is Beni Gabor," Beni introduced himself, looking and sounding nervous.

" Gabor?" Imhotep whispered. " God is my strength," He speaks in Hebrew.

Imhotep knew that Gabor was another name of a mighty religious figure that the Jews used to worship. He remembered the other name was Gabriel—their God's heavenly messenger.

Beni gulped, wondering if Imhotep hated his surname and thought that the immortal King wanted to change his identity by having him have a different name.

" Imhotep Gabor?" Imhotep looked afar with a thoughtful gaze.

Beni raised an eyebrow when he heard Imhotep put his surname together with the immortal King's name.

Demir was also confused by what Imhotep was planning. He figured Beni was safe and looked away, jogging towards the palace since he wanted to meet Felicia before she awakened.

" How does that name sound to you?" Imhotep suddenly asked.

" I beg your pardon?" Beni's blue eyes blinked.

" Imhotep Gabor. I noticed people have a second name attached to their original name," Imhotep speaks. " Like, you called my Feli, O'Connell?" He looks at Beni in the eyes.

" Ah! That's a surname," Beni explained.

" A surname?" Imhotep raised an eyebrow.

" In some cultures, a surname or last name is the portion of one's name that indicates one's family, tribe, or community," Beni looked at Imhotep in the eyes. " Since you want to use my surname, that means you want to be a part of my family," He explained.

" Would you be alright with me using your surname?" Imhotep asked. " Since Feli has a surname, I want her to feel comfortable if she knew that I also had a surname?" He murmured.

" I have always wanted a brother!" Beni beamed.

' Take that O'Connell! I now have an immortal King as my brethren,' Beni mentally cheered, feeling excited with the idea of seeing Rick's speechless expression of Imhotep and him being family.

" Brother," Imhotep whispered. He has forgotten if he had a family in his past life. After leaving his home village to pursue Priesthood, all he saw was Bahiti and her father being his only living family at the time.

" Be my brother," Imhotep asked, which sounded more like a demand than a question.

" You do not have to ask me twice," Beni widely smiled. " Hug me, brother!" He embraces Imhotep for a second, forgetting that he is hugging an immortal King.

Imhotep stood there, looking and feeling perplexed. His light brown eyes blinked, feeling strange, but not a horrible way.

" I know you will make my daughter, Imhotep," General Bomani hugs Imhotep after the younger male asks the Pharaoh's Medjai General for his blessing to marry his only daughter, Bahiti.

" I am delighted to have you as a part of my family. I know my daughter loves and cares about you so much," General Bomani speaks, sounding happy.

" Family," Imhotep whispered while hugging Beni.

Beni's blue eyes widened in realization when he saw that he was hugging Imhotep.

" I-I am so sorry!" Beni begins to apologize, looking and feeling scared that Imhotep will kill him.

" Why are you saying sorry? Are we not family?" Imhotep asked while letting go of Beni.

Beni and Imhotep silently stared at one another.

Beni beamed, feeling like thanking all kinds of gods, knowing that he would not die now that Imhotep sees him as a part of his family. He knew that if Rick wanted him dead, the immortal King wouldn't let that happen.

" Yes. Yes, we are family," Beni reassures, looking and sounding relieved.
