With Rick and the others, they were on their way back to civilization. The flight from what used to be Hamunaptra to Cairo would take at least an hour or two to get to the busy airport.

While everyone was busy doing their thing, Rick couldn't take his eyes off Serena throughout the flight, which Evelyn and Isabella noticed.

' How exactly does he know Serena?' Evelyn asked herself, looking and feeling envious.

' It seems as though Ricardo has a crush,' Isabella amusingly tells herself while looking away to stare at Ardeth in concern.

Serena felt eyes on her, which caused her to turn her head back. Her blue eyes blinked when she saw Rick staring at her intently. She was about to look away, but she briefly stopped when she noticed her older sister staring at him.

' Does my big sister have a crush?' Serena asked herself, looking and feeling curious while looking away to stare at the night sky.

Two hours later, the airplane soon arrived in Cairo. Hugo began to communicate with the air traffic control while Serena turned her seat around to stare at the passengers.

" This is your Captain and Pilot speaking. We will soon land at Cairo International Airport. I suggest you all get secured because it is going to get bumpy," Serena informs everyone.

Serena's blue eyes blink when she sees Rick stare at her. Before turning her chair around, she winked at him, which he noticed.

Rick goofily smiled at Serena when she looked away.

Evelyn frowned when she saw Rick and Serena's immediate attraction to one another.

" Rick," Evelyn softly calls out, but there is no response.

" Rick!" Evelyn's voice got a bit higher, but there was no response.

" O'Connell!" Evelyn firmly speaks, and she is about to put her hand on Rick's shoulder, but his hand stops her by grabbing it instead.

" What?" Rick asked while turning his gaze to Evelyn.

" How do you know my sister?" Evelyn asked.

" It's a very long story," Rick merely tells Evelyn.

" As her older sister, I have the right to know," Evelyn sternly stares at Rick.

Rick's gaze hardened, causing Evelyn to stare at him warily.

" I still cannot believe you brought someone with you with no experience in this field to this expedition when you already had someone with a fantastic experience living with you. However, your envy clouded you, and now my sister got kidnapped by a many centuries-old living Mummy," Rick sternly speaks.

Evelyn stared at Rick in disbelief. She opened her mouth to say something, but she stopped when she saw Isabella sitting next to him and looking at her with a darkened gaze.

" Say another word. I will slit your throat with Ardeth's sword. I know how to use one. I am the daughter of a Mafia Boss and a Prodigy Fencer after all," Isabella mouths out.

Evelyn shivered, looking and feeling scared. She immediately looked away, and she held onto her seat when she felt the airplane start to land.

" Alright, Hugo! Time to put on the wheels," Serena nods her head at Hugo.

Hugo pressed a button, and the wheels appeared underneath the airplane. He and Serena steered the aircraft onto the ground. The road was a bit bumpy because of the impact, but the two managed to land the plane safely.

" Ladies and Gents, we are finally at Cairo, the Capital of Egypt. Thanks for riding the Carnahan Airline," Serena waves from her seat in the cockpit.

Jonathan looked out the window, and he brightly smiled, feeling happy to be back at civilization.

" It's good to be back. But I know we need to return to save Felicia," Jonathan whispered as he looked away, and he turned his gaze to Bernie.

Bernie's gaze softened.

" I know you are scared. But, don't worry like how you protected me and saved my life from Dr. Chamberlain and the others. I will do the same and make sure nothing horrible happens to you," Bernie softly smiled while ruffling Jonathan's hair.

Jonathan blushes, looking and feeling flattered that Bernie wants to keep him safe.

' Or maybe he is saying that out of gratitude and not because he likes me,' Jonathan tells himself, looking and feeling conflicted.

" What's wrong?" Bernie asked.

" Oh. Nothing," Jonathan akwardly laughs. " I am getting so tired," He dramatically yawns.

" Yeah. A rest would be good. That way, we have the energy to think of a plan to save Felicia," Bernie tells Jonathan.

" Yeah. Yeah. Think of a plan to save Felicia," Jonathan nods his head in response, looking and feeling scared to confront a dangerous living figure who has taken his friend captive.

" Is there a hospital nearby? Ardeth needs medical-," Isabella began to get frantic once the airplane was inside a hanger, but she stopped when she felt her hand getting grabbed.

" No...No Hospital," Ardeth mumbled, looking and feeling exhausted.

" You need a Doctor, Ardeth," Isabella firmly speaks while staring down at Ardeth with a concerned gaze.

" I...only...need to...rest," Ardeth opens his dark eyes, and he intently stares at Isabella.

Tears welled up in Isabella's dark eyes.

" I...will be...fine," Ardeth softly smiled while tightly grasping Isabella's hand. " All...that matters...is you...and your brother...and the others being safe," He closed his dark eyes, and he continued to rest.

" Tu eres un idiota. Pero eres mi idiota," Isabella sadly smiled as she leaned down, and she gently kissed Ardeth's forehead. [Translation: You are an idiot. But you are my idiot.]

" Don't worry, Ma'am. We have a Medical Professional in our team. He can examine your husband and make sure he is well," Aaron reassures.

Isabella blushes, looking and feeling flustered at being referred to as Ardeth's wife, but she wasn't complaining.

" Team?" Rick raised an eyebrow when he heard that Serena had a team. " I thought you were a solo type?" He asked when he saw Serena taking her headset off and standing up to join the others, with Hugo following behind her.

" It's fun doing stuff on your own. But, to stay alive, having a team would be a blessing since we would be able to watch over each other's back," Serena gently pats Rick's cheek.

Rick softly smiled as he nodded his head, and he watched Serena open the door and step out of the airplane.

" Since all of you do not have any luggage or equipment with you at the moment. You guys can shower, rest, eat, and restock at our lovely home. I hope you do not mind visitors, Lyn," Serena walks down the stairs while briefly turning her head back to stare at her older sister.

" Not at all," Evelyn thinly smiled.

" We made sure not to make a mess when you were away and left Serena alone in a locked room," Hugo softly hissed near Evelyn, causing her to shiver and stare at him warily.

' How did she even escape a locked room?' Evelyn asked herself. She quickly shoved Hugo away from her, and she walked down the stairs, with Rick following behind her.

" Oooh! It is good to finally be back home, even for just a day or two!" Jonathan widely smiled while stretching. " Let's get going, Bernie!" He grabs Bernie's hand, and the two males walk out of the airplane.

Isabella waited behind since she didn't want to leave Ardeth alone on the airplane.

" Hey, Hugo! Help me carry the man out of the airplane?" Aaron asked while motioning to the gurney.

Hugo walks up to the gurney, and he carefully grabs hold of it while Aaron holds the other side.

" Please, be careful when you two walk out of the airplane," Isabella softly asked while following the three males out of the airplane.

" Serena," Evelyn calls out when she sees her younger sister standing in front of a radio and communicating with someone.

" We will be waiting," Serena speaks, and she turns off the radio. " What?" She asked while turning around to stare at her older sister.

" Thank you," Evelyn firmly speaks.

" Thank you for what?" Serena asked with a raised eyebrow.

Evelyn lightly bites her inner cheek.

" Thank you for saving us," Evelyn responded.

" I only did it because you dragged Jonny in all of this when you knew he isn't capable of doing such an expedition like the one you all went through," Serena firmly speaks.

" He and I were able to survive," Evelyn defended herself.

" That's because you had Rick O'Connell with you," Serena poked Evelyn's chest.

Evelyn's Hazel eyes intently stared at Serena's bright blue eyes.

" I don't know how exactly you met Rick. But you and Jonny are so lucky to survive all of that. I know Rick has gone through some shit and can take care of himself and those around him because he has that experience. But, next time, pull that stick up your arse and ask me! I don't know why you hate me. And you can hate me all you want, but you and Jonny are the only family I have left!" Serena snapped with tears welling up in her bright blue eyes.

Evelyn didn't know what to say to her younger sister.

Serena looked forward, and she saw Rick walking in their direction. She glanced at her older sister, gave her the stink eye, and she walked past her to get to Rick.

" You and I need to talk," Serena firmly speaks while standing in front of Rick.

Rick's dark blue eyes intently stared at Serena's bright blue eyes.

" Yes, ma'am," Rick nods his head in response because he knew Serena meant it by the two of them in need of talking.
