Ch. 41 Will she be okay?
In a hallway, the gust of sand transformed into Imhotep and Felicia. Imhotep silently walks towards a chamber with Felicia in his arms. He enters the bedroom, which looks suitable for someone of royal status. The design seemed ancient but also modern at the same time.
" Everything will be alright," Imhotep whispered in Ancient Arabic while gently placing Felicia on the bed.
" It has been so many years, maybe even centuries, since I last saw you," Imhotep mumbled in Ancient Arabic while staring at Felicia with a conflicted gaze.
Imhotep's light brown eyes stared at Felicia from head to toe. He lightly bites his lips, his hand reaches to Felicia's neck, and his right index finger slowly traces a line on her neck.
Imhotep's light brown eyes became blank as he began to remember that awful night.
" Bahiti?" Imhotep shouts as he walks through an empty hallway to his chambers. He recalled a Medjai informing him that his Fiancee got last seen heading to his bedroom.
" Imhotep! My Beloved! I am inside," Bahiti responded, but what caught Imhotep's attention was her voice sounding concerned.
" Bahiti?" Imhotep calls out, looking and sounding concerned as he jogs towards his chambers.
Yelping and shouting coming from his chambers caused Imhotep to run faster.
" Bahiti!" Imhotep enters his chambers, and he pulls the curtain to the side, seeing Bahiti looking at him and breathing heavily. Behind her was the Pharaoh's Concubine, Anck-Su-Namen, on her knees, with a sword in her grasp.
Bahiti's dark eyes intently stared at Imhotep's light brown eyes.
" I love you so much," Bahiti mouths out.
Imhotep opened his mouth to say something, but he stopped when he saw Anck-Su-Namen stand up, run towards Bahiti, and she cut his Fiancee's head off with the sword.
Imhotep felt his whole world shattered when he saw Bahiti's body fall to one side while her head rolled further away, and she stared at him with tears falling from her dark eyes.
" Bahiti! I am so sorry!" Imhotep cried out in Ancient Arabic in the present. He falls to his knees, grabs Felicia's hand, and hides his face against her hand.
" I do not know what to do! This woman has the necklace and ring that I gave you! And yet you, I mean she, does not know who I am! I am alone in this strange world!" Imhotep cries while lightly grasping Felicia's hand.
" You, I mean she, calls herself Felicia. She does not like it when I say your name," Imhotep mumbled in Ancient Arabic. " What do I even do?" He asked.
" Get to know the girl," A familiar masculine voice firmly speaks in Ancient Arabic.
Imhotep pulls his head back, and he turns his gaze to the left, seeing his godly father, Osiris, looking out the window.
" Father. This girl and Bahiti are two different people? What can I even tell her? Do I even tell her that her body is the host of my Fiancee's spirit?" Imhotep asked in Ancient Arabic, looking and sounding confused.
Osiris turns his gaze to Imhotep.
" It is best for you to get to know the girl by calling her by her real name, Felicia O'Connell," Osiris' dark eyes intently stared at Imhotep's light brown eyes.
Imhotep slowly turns his gaze to Felicia, her face red and sweaty.
" Felicia," Imhotep mouths out in Ancient Arabic.
" She already hates me. I took her from her loved ones," Imhotep mumbled in Ancient Arabic.
" You were scared, my Son. You got awakened to another era. And then you saw someone who bore the necklace and ring of your betrothed. Of course, your first instinct was to take her and then go to a safe place," Osiris reassures in Ancient Arabic.
" Once she gets healed, you must try to get to know her. You two are each other's destiny," Osiris confessed in Ancient Arabic, and he left in a gust of sand.
Imhotep intently stared at Felicia.
" Ba-Feli. I assure you that I will try my hardest to get to know you," Imhotep promised in Ancient Arabic.
Soon footsteps walking in the chambers' direction grabbed Imhotep's attention. He immediately stands up and turns around, seeing several royal guards surround a Doctor. Meanwhile, Demir and Beni stood by the bedroom entrance and stared at everyone warily.
" Doctor," Imhotep calmly speaks in English. His light brown eyes intently stared at the Doctor.
The royal guards stepped away from the Doctor, and he bowed to Imhotep.
" Please take good care of Ba-Feli," Imhotep firmly speaks to the Doctor.
The Doctor nods his head in response. He walks towards the bed, places his bag on the floor near him, and he begins to check Felicia's temperature with a thermometer in her mouth.
Imhotep stepped away, allowing the Doctor to take care of Felicia. He looks away, and he turns his gaze to the royal guards.
" All of you except for Demir and Beni leave. We will let you know when to return," Imhotep firmly speaks to the royal guards.
All of the royal guards bowed to Imhotep, leaving the chambers. Meanwhile, Demir and Beni intently stared at Imhotep.
" What can we do for you?" Demir asked while Beni warily stared at Imhotep.
" I want you to walk around the town and tell me how many elders, men, women, and children are currently living in their homes," Imhotep firmly tells the two males.
Beni opened his mouth to complain, thinking at least hundreds lived in the town, but one look from Demir caused him to stop.
" As you wish," Demir bows while putting his hand on Beni's back, and the shorter male forces the taller male to bow.
" Good. You two may leave," Imhotep looks away, and the two males walk out of the chambers.
" Will she be okay?" Imhotep asked.
The Doctor grabs a water canteen, pours it in the bucket, takes a towel, and dunks it in.
" She will be fine, Your Highness. With enough rest, food in her system, and hydration. She will be good as new," The Doctor reassures.
Imhotep nods his head in response. He glanced at Felicia, watching the Doctor gently place the wet towel on her forehead. He hummed when he saw her begin to relax and sigh due to the cold and wetness on her forehead.
" Thank you, Doctor. I will keep that in mind," Imhotep whispered, looking and feeling relieved to know that Felicia was going to get better.
Imhotep closed his light brown eyes as he leaned against the wall. He pretended to sleep, but he was on high alert. In case someone tried to come in and hurt Felicia as they did with Bahiti.
