Chapter17

"YA! Hakyeon! Why are you taking so much time? Are you a teenage girl or something? Eunji shouted from outside holding a luggage filled with Hakyeon's necessary clothing and toiletries.

"The car is not going to wait forever for you!" She sneered at the annoyed figure who ran out of his house, slamming the half broken door behind him.

"How can a man take this much time to get ready?" Eunji stomped on the ground, frowning at Hakyeon.

"Keep it down will you?" Hakyeon said pressing his finger on his lips.

"I couldn't find my ......well clothes..." Hakyeon said scratching his chin. Eunji tilted her head to a side,

"Clothes? You mean underwear? I put all your boxers inside the bag. I also put two briefs in, but the rest is where they were before. You should have been able to find those in the drawer," Eunji's announcement made Hakyeon choke on his own saliva, and Leo's cough added extra humiliation with that.

"How could you touch a man's underwear?" eyes widened to its maximum.

"Well, I was packing up your clothes. And boxers falls in the clothing section."

"Huh!" Leo let out a doubtful sigh, "Is she your wife? Or mother? Why can't you do your own job?"

Hakyeon felt his cheeks getting hot, and he felt like almost about to faint be it from embarrassment or from anger, he just felt as if his ground disappeared from underneath his feet.

"Eunji," Hakyeon tried to let out a laugh through the clenched teeth, "I am a man..."

"So what?" Eunji frowned, "I've seen every single part of your body including that little mole on your wiley!"

This time Leo chocked and also an unknown voice that belonged to the driver of the car that Hakyeon was about to get on, joined him.

"You slept with her?" Leo shrieked.

"Stop!" Hakyeon cried looking behind.

"Who are you yelling at behind there?" Eunji chimed in.

"YOU! AGH!!" Hakyeon roared. Eunji rolled her eyes at him while Leo just clicked his tongue.

Hakyeon snatched the bag from her hand and slammed the car door behind him. Eunji let out a single sigh as she shook her head from side to side.

"What am I gonna do with a kid like you?"

Leo stared at her back, then shifting his gaze back to the car window he saw Hakyeon crumble in his seat shutting his eyes, as if trying to show that he was angry at them. Leo again bit his lips.

No kidding....a total kid.

Leo looked at the tanned one with amused eyes as he made his way through the hallway of the hotel to his destined room. At first Leo thought Hakyeon would hesitate to walk into such a large hotel, then when that didn't happen he was sure that the latter would at least be confused to find his way in the unknown atmosphere, but failing to notice anything like that he rather put on a expression mixed of disappointment and shock.

Disappointed perhaps because he thought Hakyeon would depend on him one time and he would show him how things are done in Seoul, and shocked at how the latter who became frustrated when Hyuk took him to a restaurant was so much relaxed to set his foot in a five star hotel. Leo just followed his calmed movements silently, as the human made his way to his destined room.

As he turned the doorknob 180 degree and pushed it, a large king sized bed greeted him with many other furniture decorated through the room, but only the bed caught his eyes. Surely he was not the only one in his room, there was another one sitting on the bed before him, taking his clothes out of his bag. And it was not their first encounter either. The one before him casually bowed his head, and so did Hakyeon. Leo looked at the small smile on Hakyeon's face, before he went to the other side of the bed. Placing his bag before him, Hakyeon started to take out his clothes.

"Do you remember me?" the slight spark of confusion evident in the other one's voice, while his hands and eyes focused inside of his bag.

"Hmm.." Hakyeon nodded, grinning at him, "You are Ten. The one that I competed against!" The enthusiastic tone of the tanned one made the younger one looked up from his bag, there was a surprised look painted on his face which soon replaced with a feign smile, the young eyes were laughing in rather a mocking way. Hakyeon's grin didn't change, it stayed the same.

"Well...," he looked away, again occupying himself with those pile of clothes before him.

"You didn't compete against me..." he murmured, his tone stern,

"I was practically first...your competition was against the one that couldn't make it upto here."

Hakyeon's smile stretched a little, but didn't reach his eyes, Leo looked at Hakyeon's grip tightening around his clothes.

"What?" that's all he muttered.

"Am I wrong?" He didn't not only change his tone, also the need for him to lift his head up to talk to an older was missing there as well.

"I mean..if they didn't take two, then you would probably not even be here....." He lifted his head up, the feign smile sill creeping there as his eye brow perked,

"It's just because you are lucky....."

Hakyeon's grip got tightened enough for his own nails to dig into his palm through the clothes, he looked away from him to the walls of the room, trying to calm himself down, breathing hardly normal.

"But, it doesn't matter. We were out, and you are the last one to be revived, so I do not think I'd have to worry about you at all. Since you would be practically the worst amongst us, and the next round would be your last time here, so it's quite much my room you see. And if I get Taemin as my mentor, then I'm pretty much the winner anyway."

Hakyeon tilted his head at him, trying to read his mind almost, then sending him a wide grin he sluggishly stood up.

"His personality don't match his face,"

Leo whispered in his husky tone, as his eyes observed the younger one's rudeness. Hakyeon wanted to reply but couldn't, so instead he casted him a glance, to notice that dark look back on his face. He was most certainly angry, well so was Hakyeon. He really wanted to reply back, but he couldn't. The young man had a point, and he couldn't deny. Therefore his eyes wandered around the room, to find something soothing for his eyes to notice. The thought of living the next few days with this guy was already getting on his nerves, and he had to distract himself from that thought to refrain himself from harming him.

It was then Hakyeon noticed that envelop on the edge of the bed. He peacefully picked two up, and threw the one with Ten's name to him and kept the one with his name to himself. They both opened the envelop, and Leo looked at how the feign smile got exchanged with a disappointed look. His jaw tightening he again folded the paper back to the envelop. His eyes fixed on Hakyeon's back, who just stiffly looked at the paper in his hand and slowly bit his lip.

"Who chose you as his student?" Ten asked because he had to.

"I suppose, sir Taemin must have already taken all the people in his team that he needed to, so I couldn't get in."

Hakyeon didn't reply, instead he turned to him. Handing the paper to Ten, he went towards the door, stopping at the entrance he whispered his first answer to all of the younger's insult,

"Seems like luck is what you need right now.."

The door closed behind him, leaving the younger one staring at the paper, as his eyes trembled in doubt, his lips parted slightly. Finally braking out of daze he looked back at the door.

But I won...why would Taemin-sshi choose you?

Hakyeon walked his way through the pavement in front of his hotel, looking around admiring the differences between his countryside and the streets around here.

"Even the air feels different here.." Hakyeon declared inhaling a deep breath, "It's just not fresh, right?"

Leo flinched at Hakyeon's question. Nodding would be like answering what it should be, since he couldn't actually breathe at that moment could he. So he remained stiff.

"Where was your house?" Hakyeon paused on his track, eyes fixed on the ghost.

"it's around here..." He replied staring around gallingly. Hakyeon took a few steps closer, "Are we close?" He asked gleefully, standing only a few blocks away from his hotel.

" no," Leo replied, while his eyes followed the passerby's eyes that glared Hakyeon as if he was some crazy who just escaped from hospital.

"Don' talk to me now.." Leo whispered as he passed him by. Hakyeon followed soon.

"Why?" tone still sharp enough to slice the air around him. Leo frowned, again seeing the judging eyes around them, well.... The other one. It felt different. Leo once shifted his eyes between Hakyeon and the passerby, continuously.

Does he not realize?

Leo kept on ignoring the unceasing arbitrary demands that Hakyeon had thrown towards him. He ignored it all, till Hakyeon came to a halt. Unlike the countryside, it wasn't as if Leo just looked back and found the human standing before him with the fresh wind brushing off his skin. Instead, he had to look for that tiny little thin body of him through the crowd of human on the street and dust in the air to actually be able to see him.

"I'm here..." Hakyeon said grumpily from Leo's behind and Leo whirled around, quite shocked.

"How did you get there?" Leo asked.

Hakyeon snorted. "Leo-sshi why are you again ignoring me? I do not see Ken putting any kind of charm on me this time."

Leo heaved out a sigh.

"It's not your small town Hakyeon. People are judging you."

"So what?" no change in his tone.

"They might think you are crazy," Leo replied as a matter of fact.

Hakyeon's eye brow wrinkled as he clenched his fists.

"Why do you care what some nameless people think about me?" Leo slightly gaped his mouth but not giving him the chance Hakyeon again added, "They won't even know who I am to call me crazy! This is Seoul a CITY!" Hakyeon murmured in a tired tone, before turning around to walk who knows to where. Leo stood there for a while to reason against that statement, but unable to find any mistake in his sentence he slowly started to move his feet as well.

Well, that is why you shouldn't talk...it's a city..

Hakyeon sat there on the floor of his new practice room. It was the same, large mirrors all around him, where he sat down in the middle, with Leo leaning on one of the mirror as his sharp dark gaze observed the camera before him. Hakyeon looked at it, a cameraman so as a pd he guessed sat before him. They instructed him of what to do. The instruction was simple to follow.

When your instructor enters, act as if you are honored to see him, if plausible bring out tears, Then shook hands and show him some dancing. After that you would have to do an interview on how you felt about meeting the mentor, which will also be written in the script.

Hakyeon rememorized all the instructions once more, in case he messed it up. Turning to Leo he again saw him looking at the camera distastefully and crumbling in his spot, as if to make sure it doesn't catch him. Hakyeon wanted to ask about his trouble but as he knew the camera was watching.

"Get ready! They are here!" The PD hollered, while the cameraman focused it on Hakyeon's face. Hakyeon got up, stretching his back as casually he could. The door opened up, and a boy just as pretty as any lady entered the room followed by two more male and a female. The director instructed him to start and he put on the fake plastic mask of being overwhelmed on his face. The other man was rather smiling delightfully or acting to be delightful. The next segments all went by the script, while Leo just stalked him around actually becoming invincible even from Hakyeon.

And the first word Leo could talk with Hakyeon was when they returned to their hotel room.

" Are you tired?"

Which also got ignored by Hakyeon because of his roommate constantly throwing him cautious look. Hakyeon was tired, so he didn't bother to even get any dinner. He straight went to the shower and then slammed himself against his bed.

"it's soft," Hakyeon whispered in a sleepy tone. He was truly tired, but Leo wanted him to say something to him. Hakyeon didn't say anything to him anything after the street chat and now he kinda was missing his blabbing.

"He's a famous idol..." Leo talked in a harsh tone, Hakyeon didn't budge. For a moment Leo thought that he fell asleep but then he wont be here now, would he?

"Ya~" Leo leaned on him, demanding an answer. Hakyeon pulled his blanket all over to his face before Leo could again ask anything he whispered,

"There's camera around here." Leo stopped. Staring around, he really did saw some camera on the corners of his room. Anger filled his feature as he rolled his eyes before viewing the lying figure before him.

Now I'm truly invincible.

Ravi sat on the chair of interrogation room, sitting on a chair across Doojoon. This was the first time the officer asked for him. Well it was not like, he ever saw him around here after getting caught. It seemed as if it was not his office rather he came to visit that station only for him.

Ravi yawned while the officer went through a file in his hand. The officer perked his eyes ,

"Being a criminal, you have quite the nerves to actually yawn before an officer," He said throwing the file on the table before Ravi. Ravi shut his mouth immediately as he scrambled back to his seat, eyes wide open.

"Now.... It seems that tall kid was right... we really did fail to keep you in here more than one week." Doojoon said, hands circulating on his forehead. Ravi on the other hand looked at him with a dumfounded reaction. Unable to gasp his words he finally opened his mouth,

"I'm free?"

Doojoon looked up with an annoyed look, and Ravi got his answer. He tried hard not to smile but that discreet smile of victory or mockery kept on appearing on his face when nobody was watching him or he thought nobody was watching him.

"Although, I am still going to keep an eye on you and your group.....because,"

Doojoon placed his elbow on the desk before him, hands clasping together.

"I found something interesting," His smirk broadened making Ravi gulp at his words.

"What?" Ravi whispered like a fool.

"You are from Seoul, what are you doing in here?" Doojoon leaned back lazily on his chair.

"Well, I'm free. I do not need to reply you that," Ravi shot back with all his energy left in his body. The officer surprised also sent his a small chuckle.

"You know I don't buy the story of cctv fooyage and you returning to the crew 8 minutes before, right?"

Ravi gave an uneasy nod.

"And I won't. Because you are a friend of quite a kid, and they say you know someone's nature by their company. So its natural that a criminal's friend is a criminal."

Ravi's face stern he look straight to his eyes. Asking him to explain his sentence.

"That tanned one..."

"Hakyeon hyung? What about him?" Ravi jaw tightening as he once clenched his fist and soon released it, offended by his friend's insult.

"He was born in Seoul, you know. But his parents were killed." Doojoon paused to take a good view of him

"That makes him the victim,"

"Right...the only one who managed to survive, quite ironic...don't you think? And now his friend is a prime suspect. It only makes me want to question him even mo-"

"Stop!" Ravi sputtered.

"Another word against my hyung," His eyes narrowed, a mysterious aura filling around him. Doojoon flinched, he knew that look. He had seen it before many a times.

"and I wouldn't bother committing another crime over here." Ravi whispered, Doojoon slowly got up. Casually moving towards the door he turned around, "You are free to go."

Ravi got up, leaving the room. Doojoon stood there stiff, remembering that eyes. Then he closed the door behind him, that empty room.
