Chapter 26

Hakyeon looked before him, On the front seat Hyuk's manager sat there, stiff, seeing from behind Hakyeon thought maybe he was a dead corpse, he wondered if he was even breathing or not. Although the wondering didn't last long when he heard Hyuk grumbling, a deep voice from the base of his throat. Hakyeon followed the sound to look down at his feet. Hyuk was there, lying, holding his head.

Should I help or run?

Hakyeon's hand went unhooking himself from the seatbelt and went down regardless of what his mind told him. He hoisted Hyuk up who had apparently hit his head and his large body somehow crunched up on the surface of the car.

Touching him made Hakyeon realize it wasn't just feverish that Hyuk's skin felt against his, in fact Hyuk's body really was burning. He had really high fever. He seemed red in high with his eyes closed. Hakyeon noticed the shortness in his breath, as if he was panting. Pulling Hyuk up he gently rested him on the seats. Hyuk's lips moved, a few words escaping from his mouth, words that Hakyeon could not quite make out.

"He has quite a high fever..." Hakyeon murmured under his breath.

"Maybe that's why he was saying those nonsenses." Leo whispered in reply, barely.

Placing his palm against Hyuk's forehead, he again checked the temperature. If he had to guess, then he would say Hyuk's body temperature was around 102 degree Celsius if not more. The body heat burnt against his skin.

"We need to go to the hospital," Hakyeon said, concern flickering in his voice. And Hyuk swatted his hand away from himself. Hakyeon startled saw Hyuk languidly raise his eyelids, lips opened a crack.

"Don't... don't touch..... " He hummed. Hakyeon again tried to make a move, but Hyuk looked away. His head lazily fell to his right, as he kept on panting.

"And don't pretend to care..." Hakyeon stopped, his eyes observed Hyuk struggling to take breaths, how his long limbs trembled, A few droplets of sweat formed on his forehead.

Hakyeon was baffled by the sudden change in Hyuk's behavior, like 2 minutes ago that guy looked as if he were to kiss Hakyeon, and now he won't let Hakyeon touch him.

Nothing made sense!!

But the surprise lasted for a good 2 seconds and then he again was back to search through Hyuk's pocket. After a while, Hakyeon brought out a handkerchief to wipe of the sweat off from Hyuk's forehead.

Behind him the car door swung opened, he didn't quite cared about it, even though he had almost forgot about Hyuk's manager a few moments ago, it was obvious that his manager had opened the door. Therefore without glancing he said what he needed to,

"We need to go to the hospital. As fast as po-"

"He said not to touch him..." Was his reply. It was leveled, not loud, not threatening. Just simply a sentence uttered by him but Hakyeon was sure he heard him gritting his teeth. Hakyeon hesitantly turned around, a bit baffled, a bit annoyed.

"What?" Hakyeon asked, raising his eyebrow, his voice dry.

"DO.NOT.TOUCH. HIM....not that hard to hear is it now?" again voice kept meek but the tone was daring, it felt like a silent threat to the elder.

Without knowing Hakyeon let out a huff in disbelief. Hakyeon tugged his hand away from Hyuk, slowly turning on his seat to take a glance at the place behind Hyuk's manager to get an idea of where they were at then. From what he could see through the car door was a simple old pavement, a streetlamp shining afar. A little light from it flickered over the car's metal door. They were definitely in a quiet area. Those types that you would find in the vampire stories where the lead character would meet his other half while coming to find its pray. Hakyeon's stomach swooped up from the thought, did he hit the brake because this was their destination or just simply because Hyuk was acting strange? The question circled around in his head. Was he actually some pray for someone right now?

"Get off..."each word enunciated and the tanned one very well realized that, that was another order towards him, the voice was more lower. Hakyeon scowled.

"I don't need to listen to you?" Hakyeon sternly replied, voice cracking like a whip before again turning to Hyuk. Hyuk's eyes were closed, his whole body quivered from time to time.

"Know your place. You are just a manager, there is no reason for me-"

Know your place....

Then he felt the pull. His manager was pulling him by his upper arm. He at first thought maybe because it was so sudden that he had been so easily uprooted from his seat, but when he stood before the boy, he was awestrucked. He truly was, a boy so small in size and so short, no doubt was as much as strong than he was if not more. Hakyeon stood before him, face to face.

He was infuriated at that moment, Hakyeon imagined his whole face turning red from anger. Maybe he also trembled, Hakyeon couldn't tell in the dark. But he noticed movements, his hand behind his back, then was before him. Taking a look at his hand, he noticed some bills on his hand. Confused, Hakyeon again looked at him.

"There's a bus station nearby. Go to your hotel," he icily ordered. Hakyeon didn't lift his hand up, so he pulled Hakyeon's hand and then fisted him the bills by himself. And, it didn't even take seconds before the guy was again inside of the car. Turning the engine on.

"May be you should know your place....Mr. Cha." And the car started to move away from there, from him....leaving him alone in the darkness.

Hakyeon didn't move, he didn't say anything either. Never once in his life was he this confused, he thought. The only thing he did in the darkness was to blink, and think what was the meaning of this sudden visit of Hyuk and more importantly, what's with the noona thing. A crow flew over his head, its call made Hakyeon to turn his head to it, and when it went far, Hakyeon looked down. Catching Leo standing there, right beside him, teeth biting on his lower lip. Hakyeon stared at him, but Leo didn't. Hakyeon's stare became long enough for Leo to finally open his mouth, though he didn't quite decide on what to say. Hakyeon's stare felt like they were asking Leo some questions, but he couldn't quite make out what the questions were. And for some odd reason that made his whole body feel twisting, and nervous.

And finally, Hakyeon was moving, opposite of the light. Perhaps to the bus station. Leo followed, the feeling was not foreign, but it was weird, how Hakyeon's footsteps could be heard but Leo was also there. Maybe because of the tension in the air, Leo felt extra weird.

"What's your relation with Hyuk's noona?" Hakyeon finally spat it out, significance graved in every word. If words could slice ice, then Leo couldn't really count how many would be cut by now.

"Nothing...." Leo said in his usual coarse voice.

"ow..." And Hakyeon replied. Leo was quite shocked at that answer, he was expecting something else rather than just an 'ow'.

They walked a little in silence, till the little reflection of the street light was even gone. It was pure black, no stars in the sky to guide them, the moon hidden behind the dark curtain of cloud to shower them with light. Even Leo felt eerie.

"He loves summer...." Hakyeon's voice was flat. Leo looked at his back. Since the weather was chilly, the cold bothered Leo lot, and he knew it did to Hakyeon as well, but how Hakyeon always managed to act so casual in these situations really surprised him.

"He hates you... he doesn't understand why people like you..... he said that you had good structure... he said that you had fans..... he said-"

"I heard what he said....." Leo whispered.

"He said he hates how I did not see him....." Hakyeon pulled a halt in his steps. His back was stiff, Leo also stopped. Was it the darkness that made the atmosphere portentous or was it Hakyeon's presence itself seemed daring, Leo couldn't fix his mind on.

"He said that I smelled like summer..." Hakyeon whispered. A moment went by before he again started talking,

"He wasn't talking to me Leo......"

"I know....."

"And do you still tell me to believe that you had nothing to do?" Hakyeon didn't turn, but Leo could tell, how his eyes were hiding under his fringes now.

"I didn't......"

Again a deafening silence between them and Hakyeon turned to him, over his shoulder. A night breeze hit them, causing shiver ran down Leo's body. His hair and Hakyeon's hair swayed a little. He didn't look at Leo's eyes, his eyes fixed on the road, eyes heavy, his fringes slowly swaying back and forth over his eyes, Hakyeon purred,

"Nobody is innocent,

Leo....."

----------------------------------------------------

The morning light peered through the heavy curtains and fell on Hyuk's eyes. He opened them a little, then squinted it shut. The light stung his eyes, he shuffled on the bed trying to muffle his head into the pillow, a cold icebag that was placed on his forehead, fell by his side. Hyuk let out a groan, his head still throbbed too much, lips cracking and dry, the migraine still was in its worse state if not worst.

Hyuk tried to recall what he did yesterday night, not because it mattered but because he couldn't remember when he left his parent's house. His vision were hazy and world was out of focus, he curiously felt floaty, and memories blank. Another groan left his mouth, a bit deeper in tone, when his manager pulled the cover up to his neck. Hyuk couldn't quite tell when he entered the room, for what he knew he wasn't there when he had woken up, but now he was there beside him. Then he couldn't quite make out how long was it that he had been awake for, or was he even awake at all. It was all too blurry.

His manager's cold hand touched Hyuk's forehead, palm upturned. His hand's size was half of Hyuk's forehead. Hyuk slightly moved his head to him, he was still dazed he thought that he couldn't quite look at his eyes. Behind him was the window, the light hurt his eyes. His manager was in white, a long sleeved loose white shirt, worn in a bit careless way. His neck, his pink lips puffed, a bit swollen perhaps and Hyuk shut his eyes. The light made him see orange after closing his eyes, it was distracting.

"The temperature is down......" his manager said, in his usual business tone, Hyuk imagined him saying that in the dress he was wearing. It didn't quite go well, his squeaky voice sounded nicer with a bit of emotion in it.

Why am I searching for emotion now?

Hyuk questioned himself, after all it was Hyuk who kept on reminding him of his position, so why did he bother about him showing no emotion now.

"You should rest, in case you don't make some other stupid scenarios again." His voice was stern, as if he was holding a volcano from erupting within him. Hyuk's eye brow frowned.

"When did we return home?" Hyuk whispered, his voice was dry and his mouth felt like desert, boy was he thirsty or not. If he focused, he might feel sands in his mouth after some time as well he thought.

His manager casually got up, Hyuk could guess from the footsteps, then he heard some soft ruffling noise. Hyuk guessed he was fumbling with the curtains, soon the orange lessened in contrast. Maybe he blocked some lights from coming in.

"Around 2 am..... It was night, so you didn't bother to actually change up or anything. Also, you had quite a fever, over that you hit your head yesterday night quite hard..."

"2?" Hyuk opened his eyelids once more, a slit.

"Why so late?"

Hyuk heard the ruffling being stopped, for seconds and then again the same noise.

"Well, you just desired to meet your umma apparently....so I took you there....and you did your work there.." This time the anger was rather visible, he didn't try to hide it behind that fake business like posture of his.

Hyuk found his eyelids again feel heavy, he wondered why his eyes hurt so bad suddenly, did he perhaps cry or something.

His phone start to buzz. He stole a glance at it for only one short moment, and then closed his eyes.

Cellphones are a hazard to the society.....

"What work?" Hyuk murmured under his breath, his own breath seemed daringly hot to him.

Footsteps, and the buzz ceased.

"Nothing unusual...just to confess that you are in love with him...." His manager again was in his business tone, Hyuk let out a simple hum. It took him a while for his realization to hit him and he jolted up from his bed, looking straightly into his secretary's eyes, it seemed as if he had woken up from a nightmare.

"What?" He squealed. His eyes wide, his PS could easily see small beads of sweat already forming on his forehead. His secretary's face twisted in an odd sensation, he let out a smile that seemed more like a grimace to Hyuk. His manager slowly moved towards him, putting his hands on his shoulders he again made him lie down on the bed, exactly how he was before, just his eyes were missing the tiring look.

"I'm most certain that you have heard me, master..."

"Yes! And I want you to elaborate," Hyuk tried to sound calm but his voice had already became too strained to even care for.

They stared at each for some minutes, till another buzz from the phone broke the silence.

"Nothing to elaborate sir. You were wishing to meet him, when I took you there, you confessed." He simply replied, and Hyuk snapped.

"What confess? I don't even like him that way, you know that. then why would I confess to him?!"

" I didn't say you confessed to him about like, so why did that thought cross your mind?"

He let go of his shoulder,

"Either way it was a love confession. And you didn't confess to him.... To be specific, you confessed to someone that looked similar to him, but the person had no reason to ponder about who you were telling them to. So therefore you had possibly confessed to him." His simple flat tone got on Hyuk's nerves, maybe if his head hadn't hurt so much he would have taught him a lesson or two, which was out of question now. So no point of thinking about it either, Hyuk exhaled a long sigh, not because he was holding it, but because he didn't know what else to do.

This is...

"So ... did I just .. you know, blurted out that I love him or something?" Hyuk asked, a childish blush appeared on his face that made his manager automatically snort. Even if he had not confessed to Hakyeon but the fact that Hyuk was so intimate with him and was now blushing while mentionning his name, his manager felt his heart sank a little.

"No... you just asked him why he was so curious about Leo, why he did not see you when you were also standing there, and finally you said that you love summer...."

Hyuk raised an eyebrow at his manager, the blush disappeared,

"That has no indication of the fact that I like him...."

"hmm... it truly didn't..." He walked slowly, moving closer to the bed room door. The door bell rang twice, perhaps he was making his way to check who it was.

"Until you sniffed him and told him that he smelled like summer!" His manager lifted the last part, while slamming the door behind him. Hyuk looked bamboozled at his retreating figure. He just had no idea of what to do, feeling floaty? Tch.... Now he felt like sinking.

.....umma.... really is turning into a problem for me.... Isn't he now...

--------------

"No way am I going to dance to the same song with another contestant! Like, there are only two rounds before its finale and you want me to risk my position! That's insane!" Hakyeon practically yelled at his mentor. He was not in his good mood either, he hadn't slept yesterday night, had talked to Leo who yet haven't agreed to tell him what's between him and Hyuk's noona rather he reminded him of the fact that he promised to stop meddling with this case and let him live peacefully, and now his mentor had blessed him with another prize, that is to dance on a same song as another contestant. Like what else could make this day even more perfect for him.

"Take it more like an opportunity, if your dance if better than him, then it may be a better chance for you than other contestants," his mentor just said with a smile on his face. Hakyeon's eyes narrowed, if he had once showed any kind of sarcasm in his tone then Hakyeon might have just made sure to play with red jam in the studio right now. But he failed to find the sarcasm when his mentor just went ahead and played the music for him, also then started discussing about some moves. Hakyeon silently watched, the whole time his eyes were squinted at his mentor.

"Is it that much of a problem?" Leo asked, when Hakyeon just moved away from his mentor, who happen to leave the practice room. Hakyeon sending him a death glare plopped on the hard ground, fisting his hair with his both hand.

"It could be a good thing he said.." Leo whispered.

"Repeat it again and I'm putting 50 splits in my dance routine," said Hakyeon, lifting his right eyebrow a little, his eyes seemed as if they were burning. Leo nodded, he had another question and an offer circling in his head but he wondered if Hakyeon would listen to it or not, Hakyeon really truly was not in his best mood.

After giving it enough thought he finally mumbled it,

"What is the problem, I mean you just have to dance better."

Hakyeon really felt like punching himself, hoping it could at least pour a simple sense into the head of the ghost, but he didn't.

"Why should I tell you!? You didn't tell me what's your connection with Hyuk's sister?!" Hakyeon asked curtly.

Leo sat beside him, cross-legged,

"Don't then."

Hakyeon flinched, he didn't know what else he was expecting from him. He again let out a groan in frustration throwing his feet in the air while Leo's attitude remained unchanged, just that he looked at Hakyeon doing so with the corner of his eyes. Then Hakyeon looked at him with angry orbs, Leo was startled a little, but his face didn't show it. He kept on looking at Hakyeon the same way as was he was.

"Why won't you tell me about her? There lies all the answers! That way we can find your killer and you can relax your rest of the days!"

"I thought you were in grief because of your dance," said Leo.

"Don't change the subject..." Hakyeon dropped his face.

"I'm not."

"UGH!! YOU ARE MAKING ME MAD LEO!" Hakyeon screeched, this time lying flat on his back. Leo couldn't see him with the corner of his eyes anymore, so he looked forward to observe his reflection in the mirror.

A few seconds passed by in silence and Hakyeon again jolted up to sit down, his eyes also fixed on the mirror, sitting cross-legged and hands holding his toes.

"I have my bet on Hyuk...." Hakyeon stated in an icy tone.

"I don't care," Leo flatly replied. A frown formed on Hakyeon's forehead.

"And it has to be because of what you did to Hyuk's sister."

"You are too interested."

"Yes! I am! Did you not see what Hyuk did yesterday! His every movements were strange. He just frigging sniffed me, he was THIS close to my lips and if I were to crack the hidden meaning behind his words... you know what he meant!"

"Honestly...no..."

Hakyeon again shot him another death glare,

"You are not helping!"

"I aint trying..."

"WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS LEO??!! I'm doing this for you! You need to tell me what relation you had with her!" Hakyeon sounded deflated in the end.

Leo let out a sigh, giving him a proper look he continued,

"Why is my relation with Hyuk's noona so important? He also said you were mysterious... And even if I had something that's in the past, that is only gonna reply why he acted weird not why I was murdered and you wouldn't prove anything with that."Leo made it sound quite promising, Hakyeon also understood what he was saying, but he had his reason as well. Hakyeon opened his mouth to say something, but Leo again started talking.

"But what's surprising is that you only care about me and his noona. Even if I did do something, that wouldn't prove that he is my killer. It will only make your suspicion stronger." Leo paused, observing Hakyeon's reaction. Hakyeon was thinking of an answer, and it was written all over his face. A smirk ever so slightly appeared at the corner of Leo's lips, he tilted his head.

"Are you sure you just don't want to know if we were in a relationship or not.... Cha Hakyeon?" That was a tease, the mockery was so obvious that Hakyeon even doubted himself if Leo actually meant it or not. Realizing upon the truth, Hakyeon again felt his ear getting all red. Swiftly he started to touch his both side ear bum,

"Wha-what are you talking about!? Why would I-what type of - you are making me mad!" Hakyeon got up instantly, looking at another direction. Maybe to hide the fact that the bloods of his body was rushing to his face now. But hiding was useless, because he could already hear the pit pat of his heart slowly getting louder. He cursed at his heart for not listening to him. Well, that's what heart did, it never listened, and he didn't even know why his heart was beating so fast.

Like that was so not why he was asking Leo that question, and Leo had said it only to make him flustered and he succeeded. So Hakyeon couldn't really tell, if he was flustered because he was embarrassed or was he just angry.

Leo looked at Hakyeon mumbling some meaningless sentences alone as he circled the room. The smirk turned into smile, he didn't know why he enjoyed Hakyeon being flustered these days. He just found it amusing, so he did it.

"Your heart beat is saying that I'm right?" Leo purred, his tone husky. Hakyeon could feel his heartbeat raising again with that sentence and he dropped dead on his step. He looked down on his chest, observing his chest heavily rise and fall, his heart was pulping like crazy, his face felt unusually hot and he couldn't even remember if he had ever felt this hot before. He stood there thinking about it.

What's wrong with me?

And that was all Hakyeon was thinking of.

Leo's smile spread and he stood behind Hakyeon, a bit leaning towards Hakyeon's ears from back, he had a naughty look in his eyes, haughtily he whispered,

"Your heart....are you sure you are not falling for me...Hak....yeon...?"

Hakyeon heaved out a sigh, it was another tease, and surely he also didn't know what was going on with his heart.

But I can still control my body.... right?

He turned his face to his side to lock his eyes with Leo's, his face moved such that his lips were right aligned with Leo's. If Leo was alive then he could probably feel his breath on him. Leo's eyes widened, he didn't know why he didn't move away, just that he didn't want to move. As if he was drowning in his eyes, Leo sort of looked baffled. His smile replaced with shock. Hakyeon's heart was still beating fast, Leo could feel it even his ears, cheeks all seemed red but his posture was calm.

His lips parted, slowly and he pushed his face forward Leo flinched a little.

"Are you sure you don't want me to fall for you....

Mr....ghost?" He whispered, then the made a slick spin and Hakyeon was behind Leo. Leo felt stunned, and empty. The feelings were weird. He bit his bottom lips, was he feeling nervous for some reason. He couldn't tell but he put his hand on the chest area where his heart should be and clenched a fist.

I wonder......how....

Leo shut his eyes, deliberately opening it slowly he turned around. Hakyeon's heart beat was getting back to normal, as he dialed some numbers on the screen. Putting the phone to his ear Hakyeon again looked at Leo, straight into his eyes. They just silently stared, they didn't feel awkward or anything, just stared at each other and Hakyeon said,

"If Hyuk can get me into this program again, then he can save me as well...."

"Would he listen after yesterday?" Leo's voice trembled a little, Hakyeon seemed not to care.

"I believe he would."

"Why?"

A wicked smile spread on his face and he drawled,

"Because he loves summer..."

Leo nodded, as he saw Hakyeon taking his eyes away from him and his back facing him. Leo's fist tightened and he bit the inside of his bottom lip again. If he was alive, he could have felt cupper in his mouth now.

How my heart would have reacted now.....

------------

The door opened and Hongbin slyly waved his hand at Hyuk's manager. And soon one Hongbin turned into Ravi and Ken when they also popped their head out from behind. His manager was shocked, a bit perplexed as to what the whole gang was doing here in that morning.

"Heard Hyoggi was sick... so came to visit," without waiting he invited himself in. As if nobody was there. His manager baffled kept looking at all of them repeating the same thing as Hongbin and he didn't know when his mouth dropped a little. Entering the house they met the living room. It was well organized, almost perfect for some teenage boy. A book shelf at a corner with books and manga arranged on it. A Television on the opposite wall. There were a black couch and a coffee table as well, a grey rug under it lying on the marbled floor. It was simple, with really less furniture, but what made them snort at those simple designed furniture was that the sofa itself could be of the same price as their whole garage.

"How do you know that master is sick?" All of their attention diverted to Hyuk's manager, who seemed extra smaller today because of his clothes. This was the first time they had seen the guy without any formal attire so they felt a little weird. Also he was wearing all white, with white loose shirt and a loose pant. Also there was a carefree attitude in his dress up, and he was even walking on the floor in bare feet.

"Hakyeon hyung called... he said you weren't picking his call, also Hyuk was sick so we should come and check on you. And since all of us had nothing better to do so all of us came."

Hongbin had lied on the last part.

It wasn't that none of them had anything else to do, but in fact Ravi and Hongbin had. Ravi had to go to practice, and Hongbin thought of sneaking a glance at his college. But that left Ken all alone in the house, and Hakyeon hyung had called him to visit Hyuk's house in particular. The idea did everything but to appease Hongbin. So without any delay, he just canceled all his plans and agreed to come with Ken, and Ravi was just dragged in here by force. What was the main reason was just that, he was scared that Hakyeon hyung had told Ken to use some magic spell on Hyuk, he didn't know why he thought that but he figured the reason could very well be how Hakyeon had questioned him the last day.

"Ah... he was the one calling?" A smile spread across his manager's face, all of them smiled back, nodding in affirmative.

"I thought that was some unknown number....his number must have been got deleted somehow..." he sluggishly walked past him, making his way through the corridor and turned left, signaling others to follow him. There were a few doors on each side of the wall but he straight went to the end of the hallway, and held the doorknob. The others stood behind him and he softly replied,

"Master just woke up... So please excuse his improper attire..." his squeaky voice sounded sweet with that angelic smile of his and he opened the door. Ravi and Hongbin simply followed but just Ken stood there. Waiting enough for him to enter the room his manager again asked,

"Will you not enter?"

Ken cutely shook his head, a smile also on his face.

"Very well then..." the manager calmly closed the door, making sure not to make much sound. Ken's eyes were glimmering with question, he could tell. The glimmer wasn't that bright though, his manager thought maybe it was because he himself didn't know the reason behind the questions he were about to ask. When the door clicked, Hyuk's manager started to walk away from the bedroom door, he even shoulder past him. His footsteps calm, almost calculated to make no sound. Ken recalled how Hakyeon hyung sometimes walked that smoothly.

"You know I have questions for you..."

"We can continue that in the living room... I do not prefer our guest to stand while talking to me..."He spoke gleefully. Ken had no intentions of moving what so ever, so he cleared his throat, a harsh noise. The smaller guy stopped, he didn't bother to turn around, just stopped where he was. His both hands rested on his both sides. Ken for no reason let out a smile, which the other party had not noticed.

"You know what I am here to talk to you about...right?" Ken asked, he was soft, at least he was acting to be soft. There was no movement from the other one, or just Ken couldn't see it from behind. But he felt as if he had rolled his eyes.

"Surely not, not when you have not even started the topic..." he answered, his tone was always so measured, Ken didn't dislike the idea, but it made him a little uncomfortable.

"Hyung said you left him in the middle of nowhere yesterday night....." Ken sternly replied.

"How did an organized person as you are, do something like that? It quite amazes me."

Ken was sure he heard a chuckle.

"Did Mr. Cha actually send you to ask me that?" he looked over his shoulder at Ken, Ken noticed the slight upturn of his puffy lips, and his brown hair a bit falling at a side.

"No...that was just my question....I was interested in that..." Ken replied eyes fixed on another object. To be more specific, a door in the hallway, on the right wall.

"There were reasons, he and I we both know. I'd like for other people to be unaware of that event." He again looked before him, his tone back to the dry style. Ken scowled, a bit irritated by his answer. He lazily put a hand in his pocket and another to ruffle the hair on the back of his head.

"I suppose not... but knowing that hyung suspects Hyuk so much...it really is not that much of an unimportant topic you see..." he tried to sound a bit deep, but he also doubted yesterday that Hyuk had any involvement in this case so his voice didn't come out that strong.

"Hmm...surely.." The manager turned around, slowly, lazily.

"But you had the same doubt on Hongbin as well, if I may recall."

Ken clicked his tongue, eyes again focused somewhere other than him, this time on the ceiling.

"My guess is just based on what I think, Hakyeon hyung's guess is on a whole different level. But yes, I'd say it's either Hongbin or Hyuk." Ken replied, then eyed the boy before him from head to toe.

"So.... I can still change my bet you see..."

"Change your bet?" This time he didn't try to hide it, and let a soft scoff escape his mouth.

"It surprises me how much you both are sure that the murderer is amongst yourselves.... It can be none of you," He softly replied and looked at the latter before him with amused eyes. Ken opened his mouth slightly to say something but his words failed him. There was practically no way for anyone to understand where the assurance came from other than him, Hakyeon and one of the victim himself, Leo. Ken just stared at him, blankly.

A frown formed on the shorter one's forehead, slanting his head at one side he slowly closed his eyes,

"There could be a murderer out of your little friend circle, and he could just be following you around to frame you....yet you have high trust in the fact that one of you are murderer." His voice was soothing, that felt like slow poison to Ken. He found himself fidgeting without wanting to. Not because that the shorter one was right but rather because he had an answer but he was unable to say that....

"Yes, you could be right, but the circumstances has proven that it somehow or in someway always around where all three went..also the timing is always odd....so.."

"So among those three only my master is most likely to be the murderer...." He finished Ken's sentence, his tone rather sluggish, and his eyes opened languidly.

"I dunno what Mr. Cha had told you to ask....but these all seem like baseless foolish accusations to me..."

"Hyung sent me to talk to Hyuk...I'm talking to you on my own accord. Because I need to find this one little murderer to.." Ken paused, the thought of how Hakyeon had thrown him out of his house for Leo flashed before his eyes. His eyes suddenly became a bit dazed, it was hard to say where he was looking at now.

"to?"

"To set things right...." He whispered ,there was a longing in his words.

The frown deepened,

"You people are weird, universe truly brought together some weird bunch of kids ," he said, rolling his eyes. This time Ken scowled, hearing the word kid from another kid who should be younger than him, yes it hurt his pride a lot!

The dazed looked left from Ken's eyes.

"Listen... my friends are always getting somehow involved in this mess that it's not funny anymore. We even had friggin police come over our place, so if Hyuk really is involved then I wont hesitate to put a stop to his actions. I need to protect my friends so stop this nuisance.." Ken snapped, he honestly didn't know what else to say, too little, it wouldn't make sense to him, too much it still wont make any sense.

His manager's eyes narrowed, he slanted his head to the other side, his jaw muscle tightening, he slowly exhaled. His aura seemed as if they just changed color. He slowly took footsteps, calm light steps, towards ken, so light that it didn't make a single sound under his feet. Albeit he was shorter then Ken, he yet became a bit alarmed. His eyes seemed daring that moment.

"Friends...you say....." A smirk playing on his lips,

"The people that you met recently are your friends you say..." he stopped when there was only a hand gap between them, Ken was alarmed for some unknown reason. He didn't know why he felt that, but his body kept on reacting that way.

"Do Hyuk not fall in that term that you called friends? He did so much.... Do you understand? He did a LOT for you...beside, I am sure you heard the news, they said the murderer is only targeting celebrities." His voice gradually turned into a whisper, and he matched his gaze with Ken. Ken bit the inside of his upper lip once.

"So, why does it concern you? None of you are celebrities, it's only my master that has a higher position in the society, does he not?The police? They couldn't find a single evidence, and if your so called friends are that innocent, then will never be caught either, there's always lack of evidence."

"But a murderer should always be punished shouldn't he? Darkness is the only place where the monsters belongs to..." Ken saw him clenching his fist once, and slowly giving small nods. The smirk disappeared and he once glanced at the door behind them, the door to Hyuk's room.

He stepped closer, one step, two step, till one hand became a few inches. A large grin appeared on his face, his eyelids heavy, he chuckled,

"Monster in darkness...... you truly sound like someone who loves to set things right, without seeing the actual picture..." He murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.

"I'm sure this setting things right cost you something..." he pouted, that made Ken snort. Because he just hit the darn spot.

Yeah....a kick out from Hakyeon's house...

His mind instantly replied, he was surprised how his mind responded so fast. He looked away from him instinctively.

The other one again let out a chuckle, this time a bit deep in tone,

"Amazing... I guess I w-"

"The way you are talking is only making me more sure of how Hyuk is involved so thank you. I'll stop." Ken just flatly said, he was not going to talk about this. It was even a mistake to talk about this with him, he thought. Of course, if Hyuk was the one who was killing then his manager or butler or whatever that pipsqueak was would know it as well, and how he talked just proved that there was no such way he would go against his master. But this conversation did one thing to him if he could note and that was to remove all the doubts from Hongbin, or so he thought.

There was a silent pause from the other side, Ken didn't bother to look, he wanted to turn around. But he felt the slight touch of cold fingertips brushing off his wrist. He looked at it, to see how the latter looked at his hand fondly, his fingers brushing the veins on his hand, there was a smile on his lips. Ken's eyebrow furrowed at this side.

"What are you doing?"

"Ever seen a house of cards? They are really easy to break...." He hummed... Ken growled, a thick noise from the base of his throat. But the latter did not seem to care, he kept on touching the plum lines.

"The base is strong, because it takes a number of cards to create it. But the top if the house is the weakest ..even a simple breath and..." he looked up, his heavy eyes looked mesmerized.

"But regardless, it's weak..."

"I don't think I need to hear a lecture about house of cards now... Thank you. I'll leave..."

Ken tried to remove his hand but he grabbed it. Ken struggled a little to move away from his grab, but he held strong. Still looking at Ken. The frown deepened on Ken and he bit his tongue lightly.

"You'll get fired if I scream," he nervously scoffed, but his voice was filled with so much doubt that even he himself knew he sounded ridiculous.

"Your idea of friendship is like that... you think of yourself as Zeus who is slowly building this house, the base of the house is Hakyeon... trust, loyalty, gratitude, love, need, guilt, affection, duty, these eight cards, creating the foundation that's holding the upper layers . And the top layer of this house is Hyuk..the one beneath is third layer with four cards...gratitude, duty, responsibility and need...you know who this level belongs to, right?" He asked, curtly. Ken felt a pinch in somewhere in his stomach, his hands fisted and he replied through the gritted teeth.

"No....I don't even know what you are saying..." Ken was forcefully trying to smile, that seemed more like a grimace.

"I don't need you to... In your mind, you don't really need the top level... you are happy with three floors...no.. You are happy with one... you don't care if the top floor gets ruined alone."

This time Ken closed the space, fisting his collars with his spare hand he pulled him a bit closer to his face, the latter was surprised but that didn't last long.

"Well sweet heart, you are sounding like I want Hyuk to be the murderer..."

"Am I not correct?"

"How naïve of you.. It'd still be beneficial to me if the richest one amongst my friends is actually not guilty you see." Ken let a smirk appear on his lips. If they were playing with fire then he refused to be the only one to burn alone. Only Hakyeon had roasted him until now, and he refused for someone else to do that by giving him false accusation.

"Comparing my idea of friendship with a house of cards......You see the house of cards aint complete if the top layer isn't placed. The foundation is the easiest to build, it's the top that is the real game here."

The latter's smile became softer, he closed his eyes once more,

"Owww" He cooed, ".. You seem to understand that much.... But dear Zeus, let me prove you why your foundation is the real deal to me..." the latter softly brought Ken's held hand up to their face, his hold was not that strong now, Ken felt a warmth growing between them,

"Who gave you the idea that the murderer is only one person?" He said that while smiling widely, his eyes formed crescent. Ken was taken aback by the sudden reply, he only answered with a,

"What?"

"Serial killers are most likely to be not captured, because the police is too dumb to capture them. The first kill was Leo, second Yeseop, third Kai, fourth Jinyoung...all celebrities. The held suspect by the police, RAVI... you suspected Hongbin yesterday, that soon diverted into my master because....Hakyeon doubted him." His tone was like stating the obvious facts which he was, he looked away saying them. Now he turned to him, his eyes fixed into Ken's,

"Just like your mind, the police is changing their suspects frequently as well. I was the one who messed with all the evidence to save Ravi. Now let me remind you of a small evidence gathered by the police." He slid his hand up from Ken's wrist to his palm and intertwined his fingers with Ken, Ken didn't know why he flinched.

"The gloves found by the killer didn't match the size on Ravi's hand... they were smaller... My Hyuk..." He chuckled, Ken felt his body get stung by another unknown odd sensation.

"You've held his hands now, haven't you sire?...I don't think I need to explain his hand's size... You don't like to think it's a house of cards, do you know? So, now let me blow the wind to prove it to you....." He held the wrist of Ken's hand that was holding his collar with his spare one, and removed it.

"There are only two people that has small hands amongst the friends of yours you see.... It'd be amazing... umma made a mistake... and his beautiful child is trying to protect... just friggin amazing." He cried at the last part.

Ken's eyes widened.

"Did the wind hit hurt? I feel like the trust card is falling....." He mocked, and in his own oblivion Ken swallowed thickly.

"As I said... Regardless...it is weak..."He whispered, a look of triumph plastered on his face.

"Stop saying nonsenses!"

"Exactly." He dropped that jolly look from his face now, face again stoic.

"Stop saying nonsense. If you keep on believing the murderer is from this group and most certainly Hyuk.... Then I wont care who umma is you see. I can very well turn the nonsense into reality...a soft reminder again that I'm the one who messed with the evidences. So tell your sweet friend to rub his nose somewhere else.... also..."

His voice was back to being strong and he moved away, half turned. Ken couldn't really see his face now. Neither did he want to.

"Tell him to stay away from Hyuk...I can already accept a girl but some other man is intolerable.." he whispered that sounded more like a squeak of a mouse and he walked to the door that Ken was looking at first. Ken kept his eyes fixed at him till he opened the door and vanished behind it.

Ken didn't know when his jaw dropped, he felt stupid and dumbfounded. He didn't know what he was feeling but if he wanted to express then he would probably say he was feeling like a thief who was happy for getting caught and now he was being rewarded for stealing. His legs felt weak and he just dropped on the hard floor. He muffled his face into his palms. A discreet smile kept on creeping on his face though he tried to stop it.

I might be crazy?

He was laughing, a giggle bubbled up from his throat and he moved his fingers from his eyes to hide his mouth. His giggle was accelerating, he could very well tell that the goggle was about to turn into a full volume laughter. He pressed his mouth tight, but it wont stop.

"Umm.... why are you on the floor?" Ken heard Hongbin's voice from behind. He was there, he didn't know for how long. He moved his hands from his mouth to look around his body slightly turned, enough so that he was able to see Hongbin.

"Hongbin.." Ken drawled, Hongbin scowled, his lips pursing up is confusion.

Hongbin cocked his eyebrow up as he shook his head, one shook, sharp, and said,

"Are you crying?"

"His words actually made sense to me.." Ken happily replied.
