Chapter Thirteen
The following morning, Valérie takes a deep breath before knocking on the door, smiling when Chloe answered, letting her into the apartment "Hey."
Valérie was wearing a top with a coat, with a jean and some boots.
Chloe was wearing a white top with a small pant and some boots.
"Valérie. I'm glad you wanted to hanf out. I think there's something we should talk about."The blonde girl told her.
Valérie sighed, watching her lead them to the couch to sit "Okay... about what?"
"We should talk about Henry, Valérie."Chloe said.
"What about Henry? You don't like him?"Valérie frowned.
"I just don't think he's a good fit for you. When we were at the party, he flirted with me. Told me you wouldn't have to know. You know how actors are. They collect women like coins."Chloe lied.
Valérie nodded, rolling her tongue through her cheek as she stared back at her friend. She swallowed slowly, the anger in her belly threatening to be unleashed as she asked "Can I have a drink?"
"Oh, of course, you can, sweetie."Chloe said.
Valérie gets up to follow her into the kitche, watching her as she filled a glass with water. She smiled at Chloe when she sets it on the counter in front of her "Thanks."
She takes a large gulp before setting it back down as she said "Anything else?"
Chloe shrugged, resting her hand on Valérie's shoulder "I just think it's best to know who he is before you get too invested..."
"It's probably true."Valérie sighed, staring at the counter.
She then said, looking back up at Chloe with a frown as she grabbed the glass of water "It really sucks when you think you know someone and find out that you don't." She approached her as she backed Chloe up against the wall and added "I thought we were friends, Chloe."
"Valérie, I..."Chloe trailed.
Valérie cut her off "No. It's my turn. Every since I knew you, everything has always come so easily for you. Especially men. And you just can't handle the fact that Henry likes me and not you. You're just jealous, emotionally stunted girl that you've always been. And I've tried to overlook the cattiness and small jabs over the years because they were never aimed toward me. But I can't take it anymore. And worst of all, you're untrustworthy. Henry already told me everything. He told me as soon as we got home. How you propositioned him. How it could be 'your little secret.' And I realized that Julien was right about you all along. He tried to warn me about you. Leave me alone and leave us alone."
She dumped the water over the top of Chloe's head and the blonde gasped before Valérie throws the glass at the wall beside her, not staying to watch it crumble to the ground like their friendship.
