Aura POV

"Aura , this is Alvin!
He is my partner in business, my friend and maybe more than that !" Kate said blushing and held his hand while resting her head on his shoulder. It seems like they are in a serious relationship as he was smiling. He gave a smile and he extended his hand to shake.

No, No, Aura, Don't do that to yourself . I don't want to feel that heartbreak again my heart screamed at me.

" He is waiting Aura!" Kate said signings towards his extended hand towards me. I took a deep breath and hesitantly extended my hand and he tightly held my hand not letting me go. I tried to get my hand but his hold increased and he smiled wickedly at me . Anger flared in me and I pinched him with my two fingers as he left my hand not before a little gasp escaping his mouth which soothened my ears and my broken heart. Now a smirk left my mouth wickedly .

"Aura , Alvin can help you with your project!" He is the best in those social activities . Kate said sweetly smiling at Alvin , they are acting like a most perfect couple in the whole world . My inner soul was literally ripping Kate's hair from her scalp in anger. I brushed my anger away and faked a smile .He smiled and said Bye to us, where as Alex came towards me and hugged me sweetly . He shook hands with Erica,
"May I get your number?" Alex asked taking his phone from his pocket . I narrowed my eyes at him and he just smiled when I finally gave him my number and " yours young lady?"  Alex asked looking at Erica who has now raised her eyebrow questioningly to which we just gave her his sweetest smile.
" I have a boyfriend !" Erica said angrily and he gave a smile and lifted his hands in surrender . All the people left and the house was damn peaceful at that moment .

"Isn't that the man who broke your heart?" Eric ask me holding by my elbow forcefully. I just nodded unable to answer her question and she started walking towards the door taking long strides.

" Where are you going?" I asked her stopping in her way .

"I am going to break his bones and feed them to dogs !" Eric said and anger was claiming in her eyes like she meant every single word she said.

" No Eric ,Wait, you didn't mean it!" I said nodding in my head in No.

"You know I meant every word of it Aura! " She said maintaining the same angry face.

" No Eric , Don't !His presence doesn't affect me anymore !I don't care for him now and I know I will never." I said looking at the side of eric's hand but not in her eyes.

"But I really want to do that to that person who broke your heart!" Eric said trying to control her anger.

"I don't want to give him any idea that I love him and his presence effects me Eric .So please don't do this. please I know you are angry but for me please don't do this." I said and she sat on the nearby chair defeated.

"Eric promise me that you will not fight with him or curse him." I said and she hugged me with a promise .

I went back to my room, freshened  up and change into my black nightgown . I took my favourite book The Fault in Our Stars and started reading it .Actually Augustus is very right when he said that's the thing about pain it demands to be felt.

I don't know when I slept reading it. I woke up when I heard a knock, no banging on my door. I slowly walked to the door not to physically hurt myself from anything I stomped on. I opened the door to see Kate  fully awake in this early morning.
Did the world ended when I slept? I asked myself and smiled at my stupidity .

"Good morning Kate!"  I wished her.

"Aura It is indeed a very good morning!
Aura, you know what happened ?"She asked me excitedly .

Is she stupid?
How could I know what happened to her!?
"No I don't!" I said in a low sleepy tone. 

" You know Alvin just called me this morning!" She said and blushed.
Alvin!
That's the reason she woke me up this early.
Oh god, This man doesn't even let me sleep peacefully.
I just wanted to curse him but I just couldn't as I don't know how to curse.

" Alvin invited us for today's medical campaign and he wanted us to come !" She said grinning.

"Us ?"
I asked furrowing my eyebrows unable to know what she meant by the word Us !

"Yes, us!
You, me and Erica!
He invited all of us !" She said pushing me and adjusting her on my bed.

"I am not coming Kate!
I think Eric also agrees with me .
I am sorry but we can't.
You enjoy yourself !" I said bluntly as I don't want to face that stupid man again . I know he is doing all this to show me how happy he was in his love life but I am not going to get him win this time .

"Aura, please.. please.. please..please...!" she started yelling like a 4 year girl whose mum said No to give her a chocolate .I got irritated at her and I shouted a big " No."  She kept her face low and stood from my bed and started working out . I couldn't believe I yelled at her . Actually I didn't wanted to but it just got out at the moment with the anger . By her  sad expressions I can say that she was hurt. I never saw her like this from the past two days . I really felt very bad to her .
What happened to me?
I am just not taking such a good opportunity of my project just because of simple reason that he will be around me all the time ?
It was indeed a very good opportunity as we get a number of people at one place and we can work on our project easily by knowing them .

" Kate, wait!" I said and she stopped, but didn't turn around to face me .

"I am sorry !
I didn't mean to shout at you like that .
I just... I just got out of my impulse. If you will be happy by my Yes, then Yes, we are coming with you." I said and she hugged me like a kid who's mum gave her her favourite chocolate .

"Thank you Aura!
Thank you so much.
I know you couldn't say No to me !" She said and kissed my cheek in a friendly way and I couldn't help but smile at her craziness.

I went to Eric's room and knocked as Kate left for packing her things.

I knocked the door for more than 3 times but she didn't answered it  Eric came after I knocked many times .she was messy, weak,and  the dark circles are clearly visible under her eyes and she looked sick.

" What happened Eric?"  I asked her holding her as she felt week .

"Girl problems!" She said and I understood. Every month her cramps are terrible when compared to mine. Either me or Andy used to take care of her those 5 to 7 days as her parents live in Greece and she lives in an apartment .

There is no way she can go to camp like this and there is no way I am going to leave her alone in the state.

" What happened my ruminator? Why are you silent ? " She asked me questioningly fishing something on my face .

"Nothing  it doesn't matter anymore. You take rest!
You are important !
I will make coffee and breakfast ! " I said and walked away to open the door and when I did it Kate came fully dressed with her bag.

"Why didn't you both got ready yet? "Kate asked looking at my night wear.

"Actually Eric is not feeling well!
So she can't go and I really don't want to leave her alone !" I said and  she again looked said like her chocolate was taken away from her.

"But you said you will come!" Kate said shouting.

"Yes, but.... !" I stopped it when Eric stopped both of us and said,

" What's going on ?

"Nothing Erica! Alvin invited us for the medical camp to attend so you could work more on your project !" Kate said and Erica looked at me .

'Aura, I think you should go!
It's a very good opportunity and you should not let it go." Eric said getting up from her bed.

"But...! I started again but stopped and when Eric said ,
No but's !
You are going and that is final .
If you don't like doing this for you then do help me by helping yourself !" she hugged me tightly and I gave her an assuring hug back .

"Now go and pack!" Eric said and I smiled at her.

I packed hurriedly. I mean very hurriedly and I got into bathroom to freshen up . I took bath with my favourite shampoo which lightened up my mood. I got off from the bathroom drapping myself in my white towel and drying my hair myself with the other.

I heard a knock on my door it must be Erica as she said she would come to help me from  packing. But from when did she  started knocking before coming in? I brushed my thoughts as I thought I was overthinking.

"Come in !" I shouted applying the body lotion turning away from the door . I heard the footsteps and I didn't know when did Eric started walking slowly. Usually she always rushes towards me.

Maybe it's her period,  so she was walking slowly!  I self answered my question.

"From when did you started knocking ?
Ok , now take this and apply it on my back!"  I said extending her the body lotion from my back.

Why is she behaving like this?
Why isn't she taking the body lotion?
I got irritated a bit and turned around only to gasp.

It was him!
