Up to Wednesday

A/N: As usual, I would recommend putting the video on loop.

Kaleb had accepted. Tristan had texted her back that they'd be there at five and that Anita was pretty stoked up about the update in plans. (F/n) had sent back a laughing emoji before typing that she'd see him soon. And, that'd be the last time she ever saw him. Things were set in motion, and Lee and she could relax for the rest of the evening. For once, they didn't have to research anything that night.

(F/n) leaned back from the laptop and stretched her arms. Her shoulders popped in the process, and she released a relieved sigh. Lee stepped around her and wrote another note. Do you want some dessert, and we can watch a movie? Celebrate a little?

Smiling, she hummed in agreement and nodded her head firmly. "I'd like that. I'm ready to cuddle up in a bed and just give my mind a break from all of this." Her (e/c) eyes briefly looked to her room door. "You don't think Anita will come back early because of the news, do you?"

It's possible. Her shoulders sagged a bit after she read the note. She stared up to him, and he rested a reassuring hand on her shoulder before she looked over what he wrote next. Did you want to wait a little before we settle in for the night?

"I don't want to, but I also don't want her bursting in and causing problems," she muttered, a pout on her lips. "Let's just go make dessert and go from there."

Resting a hand on her head, Lee combed his fingers through her hair and kissed her right cheek before he nodded. He pulled away from her only to offer her a hand. She accepted it after she made sure her laptop was shut off. They left the room and went downstairs. (F/n) glanced towards the door and glared a little, but she reminded herself that it wouldn't be too much longer before she no longer had to worry about those three.

Entering the kitchen, (f/n) went towards the fridge and glanced over what was inside. There were a couple slices of lemon cake left. Anita had made them, though, and she felt like something even more refreshing. She opened the freezer and found blueberry crumble ice cream. That sounded perfect. (F/n) grabbed the gallon and set it on the counter. Lee retrieved a bowl and spoon.

How many scoops? She hummed in thought before she held up five fingers; she was celebrating after all, and she was a bit hungry. Lee simply put that number in the bowl. Toppings?

"Not today. This sounds good on its own." She took a bite after he passed the bowl to her. A pleased hum left her mouth. "Yep, this is perfect." Looking to the kitchen door, she smiled again. "And, Anita isn't back yet. So, even better. Should we try and watch a movie, then?"

We can. I'll keep a listen. Sound good? She gave him a nod in response and held onto her ice cream while they both left the kitchen. As they started up the stairs, Anita still hadn't shown up. Even when they reached the room again, she wasn't back yet. (F/n) placed the bowl down momentarily while she turned the laptop back on and set it up on the bed once it was loaded up.

Placing it between them, she leaned back against the headboard while Lee scrolled through movie selections. Which genre? Something that was upbeat sounded good. She thought on it a little bit more before she smiled to him and mentioned the cheerful aspect to him.

"How about a movie that you know that's like that? Or, one you wanted to see back then but never got the chance to. It might be on here." He tried to think of a few movies that she might like before he came up with a couple of titles. The first movie title he typed in wasn't available, but the second one was. Lee turned the screen more towards her and showed her the summary of the movie. "Yeah, that sounds good. Let's watch that one."

Hoping she'd like the film, he started it. It was in black and white, and the sets clearly were sets, but (f/n) imagined that they looked impressive for that time period. Regardless, the movie remained charming, and the music in the movie was pretty catchy. Not to mention that the dancing was incredible. It kept the viewer wanting more, and the main characters' emotions were really shown through their dance moves and the background music. They were trying to get the female lead out of an arranged marriage since she loved the male lead. Through various dances, friends and wit, the main characters were getting closer to their goal.

When he saw her laugh and smile during the film, Lee was happy about the choice he made and that the movie browser had the film. If she had been around back then, they could've gone to the theater together and watched it while sharing some popcorn and having sodas. Instead, he had gone by himself or with dates he only had been luring out to reveal their betrayal. Lee shoved those thoughts aside and concentrated back on the present. The room wasn't a theater, and he couldn't eat, but he had someone who genuinely cared about him beside him. In truth, she gave the moment meaning, not the location or food.

End credits rolling and bowl of ice cream long finished, (f/n) smiled gently over to him. "That was great. I really enjoyed it, and that dancing was amazing." A light laugh parted from her. "I wanted to dance myself."

Did you want me to show you a few moves? (F/n) paused and stared at him for a moment. He chuckled a little and added another note. I did go to the dance halls occasionally back then.

Before he could write anything else, she grabbed his hands and grinned. "Yes!" Now, he really chuckled in amusement, and she could tell by how he rocked back and forth. Leading her off of the bed, he guided her to the space between the bathroom and the foot of the bed. There was enough room to teach her some of the basic moves, but he didn't know how many he'd be able to pull off himself with his plastic and metal limbs, especially since the metal was rusted to a degree.

Not one step happened when they heard the door open downstairs. "(F/n)!" Anita called out. Lee and she shared a look of annoyance and slight worry, and even though she couldn't see his expression, she had a feeling that he probably had similar emotions to her in that moment. "Hey! Where's the mannequin?! You move him?!"

Not being able to help herself, she leaned her head against Lee's chest and sighed lightly. He placed a hand on top of her head before he withdrew his hand and stood in the same position that he took by the front door. Anita poked her head around the doorframe and raised a brow. "What are you doing with him?"

"Thinking of a new outfit," (f/n) answered, that being the first thing that came to mind. "Wondering what colors might look good on him." She went over to her laptop, glad that it was facing away from Anita, and she closed the browser and quickly pulled up images of various suits for men. "He looks good in the bright orange, so maybe another bright color?"

"And, you had to bring him up here to do that?" Anita walked over to her and glanced over the various suits. "Why not bring the laptop downstairs?"

"... Well ..." (F/n) gave a sheepish smile.

"You didn't think of that?" Anita raised another brow. (F/n) shook her head, and Anita rolled her eyes before she grinned. "Well, never mind that for now." She waved her hand. "There are much more important things to discuss." Lee was more important to her. "Like," she giggled and rested her hands on (f/n)'s shoulders, "you wanting Kaleb and Tristan over!" Slightly, (f/n) winced at the noise. "What happened?! Tell me! Tell me!"

"I don't know ..." (F/n) broke eye contact and seemed embarrassed.

"Now, that's lying." Anita leaned closer with a wide grin. "What happened, (f/n)?" she asked in a sing-song voice. Well, she tied together their dirty secrets, but she couldn't exactly say that to Anita just yet. No, there was a far better time for that, and Anita had agreed to it.

"I guess that I like Tristan more?" Her tone was doubtful, and she shrugged her shoulders.

Giggling, Anita grinned again. "No reason to sound confused by it. With how much time you two have been spending together, it makes sense." Anita patted her on the back and walked away confidently a few steps before she spun on her heel and smiled like she had won the jackpot, but she was far from such a prize. "I knew that you two are a perfect match!"

"Is this why you came back early?" (F/n) glanced to the clock before she looked to Anita again. "You normally return home after I've already gone to bed."

"I couldn't just stay there after learning this news!" She grabbed (f/n)'s hands and jumped a little. "This is amazing! You're even letting Kaleb come too!" Anita soon hugged (f/n) and giggled. "They're so happy as am I! This idea of yours is great!" Well, it would be for Lee and her, not for them.

"Glad to get your approval," she chuckled out while Anita pulled away. "Though, I think that I'm going to look a bit more for clothes, then head to bed."

Anita nodded and giggled. "Sure! After tomorrow, though, we're going to have a great time!"
