Restore to Recover
A/N: As usual, I would recommend putting the video on loop.
Everything from recently was restored. Dark brown optics scanned over the screen, and he tapped his left fingers against the tabletop. Comprising most of the history was visits to the same locations, which made sense. If someone liked something enough, they would go to it multiple times. Not to mention that he saw the café's name as part of the lines of text.
Lee clicked on each one. Each loaded up a page on Rose Tea. There were various boxes that had information and what looked like other people leaving messages? He wasn't quite sure, but there were tiny little pictures of different people and remarks next to their pictures. To find out more, he tried clicking on several, but he was blocked on every site, which requested a username and password. An irritated sigh left him. These devices certainly had a lot of locks on them.
He left those pages soon after since he didn't gain really any further information on her. Yes, they stated how the café was their dream since high school and that they had gone through college and culinary school to gain further knowledge on their trades before opening the business. Already, he knew that information.
Scanning back over her history, he saw the same locations mentioned, but the café wasn't mentioned in them. Interesting. He clicked on the links, but a blurred screen came up each time, asking again for the username and password since the information apparently was more private. Lee tried to make out some of the text through the blurriness, but it wouldn't work. How annoying.
Going back to the restored history, he tapped his fingers harder against the tabletop. Briefly, his eyes looked towards the direction of the stairs. Was she done with her shower? It had been awhile. Maybe, she was going to skip dinner again. A sigh left him. Lee plugged in the charger for the laptop before he stood up. He needed a break anyway. The cursed device was frustrating him anyway.
Heading upstairs, he couldn't hear movement from within her room. He reached the door soon enough. It was quiet on the other side, so he knocked. She was a deep sleeper, so if she didn't hear him he wouldn't be surprised. No answer. The next time, he knocked louder. And, louder a third time. If he could talk, things certainly would be easier.
To his surprise, though, he heard movement. Maybe, he had caught her before she had gone into too deep a sleep. "What do you want?" she asked, irritation clear in her voice. He simply knocked again. Lee heard a rough sigh from her, and he watched a piece of paper slide under the door with a pen.
Sitting down, he wrote back a response. Are you not eating again tonight? He slid it under.
"Are you already done with my laptop?" she asked back, and he practically could hear her rolling her eyes. Perhaps, she forgot that he very easily could break into her room. When he gave her no answer, she grumbled under her breath. "... Whatever. Why do you care? Do you just want to mess with me again?" The piece of paper slid back towards him.
Maybe. But, you should eat. You don't want to keep walking around like you're half awake, do you? Anita will catch on eventually. And, you know that I don't wish to be exposed to her. Well not yet anyway. Anita could know about him when the time was right.
"Where will you be? You still haven't answered my question about the laptop." The paper slid back under, and he sighed before he stood up. He could hear her walking away from the door. This whole sliding notes under the door was somewhat annoying, and having to write notes to communicate was frustrating enough.
It didn't take him long to retrieve a paperclip and unlock the door. He heard her walking away more. Soon enough, he was pushing the nightstand out of the way, and he noticed that her bathroom door was closed. Really? Well, he supposed that he could entertain her. After all, he had wanted a break from searching her laptop. His eyes glanced over to her desk. Her phone was there. So, she hadn't even been asleep yet; she had been ignoring him. At least, he wasn't keeping her up since he had mentioned that she needed her energy for tomorrow's service.
Walking towards the door, he knocked. "Can't you leave me alone one night?" He already had in the past. His hand tried the doorknob. Locked. Lee took the paperclip and unlocked the door. When he tried to push it open, she exclaimed, "Didn't you say that you'd leave me alone when I was in the bathroom?!"
A light chuckle left him. He grabbed some paper and a pen. No. I agreed to when you were in the shower. Why? Are you planning on getting another shower or bath? Lee didn't hear a reply from her too quickly before he heard water running. Another chuckle left him. She was gone from the door, and he easily opened it.
Immediately, she spun around. He leaned against the doorway and crossed his arms over his chest. "Hey! You agreed!" she yelled out, backing up from him. He pointed to her pajamas and still wet hair. A heavy frown touched her lips. Lee picked up the piece of paper.
Just come out and eat something. I'm not going to do anything. I just was tired of communicating through the bottom of a door. I'd talk if I could. Before she even could answer, he heard her stomach growl, and he couldn't help but laugh.
From her perspective, she saw him rock and back forth a little. A bit of heat touched her cheeks from embarrassment and her stomach betraying her. She saw his eyes lock onto hers, and her fists nearly clenched. "Fine ... I guess that I'm hungry." (F/n) just had a feeling that he was smirking, and she was glad that she couldn't see it.
Stepping aside, he motioned for her to go by. Reluctantly, she did, and he followed her out of her room. Occasionally, she would peer back at him, but he kept walking casually. When they reached downstairs, she noted her laptop in the other dining room. For a moment, she paused, and he stopped a little too close behind her. Since she didn't like him being so near to her, she turned away and headed for the kitchen.
While she was up, he'd ask for the usernames and passwords to those locations. First, he'd have her eat something. Not only could she possibly expose him if she didn't take care of herself, but she also might not be able to pay attention that well to what happened at her upcoming dinner. Most likely, she'd be fine given the company she would have, but he'd rather not risk that. Of course, he always could give her more clues, but he liked this method more. It was more fun than just revealing the secret to her.
Hearing him right behind her, she huffed. "I thought that you didn't care for the kitchen. Besides, you can't eat anyway." She peered back to him, and he shrugged his shoulders. (F/n) rolled her eyes and didn't hold the door open for him as she entered. He easily opened it and leaned against one of the counters. "Are you going to watch me eat something?" Lee nodded. "Great."
Opening the fridge, she grabbed some snacks. That should be enough, and she could eat them fast so that Lee would hopefully leave her alone. He saw her retrieve a thing of string cheese and an apple. Lee pushed himself off of the counter and took both items from her. "Hey!" she called out before she tried to get them back. "I thought that you wanted me to eat dinner!"
After he placed both items in the fridge, he looked for something that wasn't designated as food for the restaurant. Sure, he didn't like cooking, but dinner was dinner. And, she could have a decent one. "Just what are you doing? I don't need your help." Almost, he laughed, and he looked back to her knowingly. "I meant in terms of dinner. Plus, I still don't trust you about Anita. I'll be cautious, but I'm not agreeing to what you're saying." Lee shrugged before he looked back in the fridge.
Nothing so far really met what he was thinking of that'd be good. It wouldn't be one of his friend's dishes. No, it'd be something that his late father had made. Did she deserve a dish his father made? Probably not, but she certainly deserved it more than anyone else alive. Despite his friend having great cooking skills, though, his friend couldn't copy what his father had made for him when he was younger. Annoyingly, though, they didn't have all the ingredients. He even checked the pantry. There was enough to make it to a degree, but it wouldn't compare to his father's.
As he put ingredients on the counter, (f/n) raised a brow. "Are you going to cook for me?" There was evident skepticism in her voice, and she clearly wasn't fond of the idea. When he nodded his head, she frowned. "I really don't ..." His gaze snapped onto her, and she froze before she responded, "Look, I think I know what you're making. I can try my hand at it." He shook his head. Sighing roughly, she leaned against a counter opposite of him. "Are you heat resistant? Sure, you've been in the kitchen, but you haven't cooked over a stove like that, have you?"
... No, I'm not. Fine, but I'll prep this. I don't want you to mess it up. He grabbed the items he needed and began to prep them as he had said he would. Admittedly, he wasn't bad.
"So, are you good at cooking?" she asked, watching him cut up the broccoli and steak. He shook his head, and she sweatdropped. "Are you sure that I'll be the one to mess it up?" Lee nodded, and she frowned that time. "Well, you must've made this before, then." That time, he paused.
