Kiss to Address

A/N: As usual, I would recommend putting the video on loop.

Around her, everything seemed to be completely silent. (F/n) couldn't even hear her own breathing. All she could focus on was that Lee's face was right next to hers. His lips were on hers. There was no warmth from them, and they pressed her skin against her teeth. It was uncomfortable in the sense of the pressure he applied and that his lips didn't mold to hers, but that didn't matter. And, it didn't matter that he couldn't close his eyes and that most probably would consider it creepy how his eyes just stared blankly at her while he kissed her. No, what mattered was that those plastic lips belonged to Lee.

Slowly, sound returned to her. She heard her heart pounding in her chest, and she felt the blood in her cheeks. But, her surroundings remained a blur. Even the laptop seemed to vanish for a moment. Entirely, her eyes were on him. As he moved his lips away and withdrew his hand, she didn't divert her gaze. (F/n) didn't know his emotions in that moment, and she couldn't describe her own other than she felt butterflies in her stomach and didn't care that he was made of plastic and metal.

Lee watched her gaze and wondered if he had moved too soon. Had he screwed things up? She looked so still. What if she didn't want a romantic relationship just yet or ever? Already, she might've decided that just friends might be best for them. If he was traditionally alive, he'd probably be sweating. He was scared of what she'd do and say next, and he was frightened by how he might react; he couldn't lose her, and he knew that he wouldn't let her go regardless.

So when she leaned towards him, he was terrified that she might hit him. Instead, her hands cupped his cheeks, and she kissed him back. Joy. Pure joy. It was like a million fireworks exploded inside of him. He pressed his lips against hers in response, and she ignored the slight physical pain it brought her because she knew that he was doing all he could to kiss her back.

Despite there being no physical warmth from his lips, her whole body felt warm from the action alone. She knew what it meant, and that was enough for her. If it was Lee, she didn't need to feel everything physically; she felt it in her heart. That might sound cheesy as could be, but she didn't care.

Moving closer to him on the bed, she kneeled in front of him. Their knees touched, and he rested his hands on her hips to hold her better to him. Her hands moved from his cheeks to the back of his neck, and her fingers interlocked there. She continued to kiss him until she needed a breath of air.

Reluctantly, she pulled away, but he rested his forehead against hers. "That just happened, right?" she asked, breathlessly. He nodded gently, and she couldn't help but laugh a little. She smiled brightly next and admitted, "Well, that was quick." Not being able to help himself, he chuckled too and stopped only to write a note.

Guess we didn't last as just friends for too long. She shook her head as she read. But, I don't mind this. Are you okay with this? A laugh parted from her, and it made him smile.

"Yeah." She continued to smile. "I don't think that I would've kissed you back like that otherwise." Her cheeks heated up a little. "And, I must admit that I've been picturing you on the dates instead of Tristan. Not just to get him out of my mind but because I do enjoy just being around you." (F/n) moved her head to rest on his left shoulder. "You bring me so much comfort and are so caring. It's unreal," she breathed out before her lips touched the fabric of his jacket gently. Only did she move away when she felt him hand her a note.

I can't give you everything that I could've before I was killed. This will by no means be a regular relationship. And, I don't want to risk others knowing about this. There won't be family dinners, anything like that. Are you sure you're okay with that? Friendship is one thing, but being lovers is another. When she finished reading, he cupped her cheeks and ran his thumbs along her skin. She rested her hands over his and smiled.

"I already told you that I am." Her hands gave his a light squeeze. "And, what do you mean there will be no family dinners?" She chuckled and shook her head as if he had said something completely foolish. "I live with just you. Sure, I have my parents, and I won't be able to introduce you to them without them thinking I've lost my mind. Or, them freaking out or a number of other negative consequences, but I can have dinner with you." (F/n) touched their foreheads together. "You're part of my family now."

When he didn't respond, she moved away from him a little bit. "I know that in the past you haven't had the best experiences with family. But, you can start over, and I don't mind doing that with you." Her hands folded around his completely. "So ... What do you say?" She peered up to him, somewhat unsure, and he didn't waste another second.

Swiftly, he brought her into a tight hug and pressed his lips to the top of her head. No doubt, he was in love with her, and he'd never let her go. He wished that he could tell her, actually talk to her, so that he didn't have to release her from the hug to write to her. Reluctantly, he did let go. Then, we're family.

Another bright smiled fell upon her lips, and he captured it by giving her another kiss. Her shoulders relaxed even more, and her hands cupped his cheeks once more to hold his lips to hers. When they pulled away again, she laughed lightly. "Well, we probably should go back to research, right?" Before she could distance herself even more from him, he grabbed her one hand, and his other wrote a quick note.

If we can't find enough to finish this before next Thursday, don't kiss him. Tell him you're sick. Fake it. Something. Her eyes landed on his even though his remained blank. He squeezed her hand a little bit more.

"I don't know how much time I can buy, and what if he comes over here to check on me?" Lee knew that was an unfortunate possibility, but he might be able to control the situation somewhat, then. He had hid being alive from (f/n) for awhile when he had been messing with her. It wouldn't be like he'd just start walking around the house in front of Tristan. No, just little things to distract him.

I can mess with him. Make him think he's too tired. Something like that. You know that I'm capable of that. Quietly, she laughed and nodded. She truly appreciated what he was suggesting.

"I know that you are –" Another note was passed to her, and she paused to read it.

I know what our plan is. Trust me. It'll keep you from having to kiss him and from him kissing you. Sighing gently, she shook her head and smiled. When she met his gaze again, she ran her hand along his hair and nodded.

"Okay." Her hand trailed down his head to his neck and across his shoulder before she pulled away. She grabbed the laptop and set it between them. Lee sighed in relief and leaned back against the headboard. (F/n) made herself comfortable against him, and he wrapped an arm around her waist. His arms really did make her feel safe even if that sounded odd given his history of killing people. But, she did trust him and that counted for more than Anita's false friendship ever did.

Beginning to focus back on the search, she slowly found herself curling against him while his free hand took over scrolling down on the page. Her hands held onto his jacket a little bit, and she read over the various posts with him. Nothing so far caught either of their eyes, but they did find the same pictures on his profile as that of his girlfriend. They didn't provide any new evidence, but they did solidify the girlfriend's posts. (F/n) made sure to save all of that information too.

Eventually, they reached the end of his page, so they moved onto the girl who had kissed Kaleb in the original club image. There wasn't too much content on her profile, at least of what was readily available to the public. What was strange was that her status wasn't single, but she had no pictures of who she was seeing. "Do you think that Kaleb and she could be dating in secret?" (f/n) asked, hopeful. That would give Anita reason to get rid of him; she'd be stunned and humiliated.

Possibly. It would be what we would need if we could prove it. She nodded in agreement and clicked on a post that had several replies attached to it. Loading up those posts, she raised a brow.

Concerning the comment, it was pretty vague. Having a good weekend. The replies weren't like that.

Oh really? With your lover boy?

Not saying.

Knew it! You two are so cute together!

When's he going to move in?

I don't know. I don't think he is, but he's going to visit in a few months.

Good! He needs to come visit.

There weren't any more replies; there only was a like on the last post from the girl whose profile they were on. A few months. That did somewhat fit along with Kaleb and Tristan's timeline. "Let's check into this friend of hers profile. We might find something more there." Lee nodded, and he had a feeling that they were getting close and well before the two months were over. That gave him hope that those three would be out of their lives sooner than later.
