Interior to Converse
A/N: As usual, I would recommend putting the video on loop.
Next to him, unfortunately, (f/n) sipped at her root beer as Tristan went over plans for designing a family room. He showed her pictures of the cleared out space in the house, and she'd be lying if she said it wasn't a gorgeous area. Large windows served as two of the walls so that the house was able to overlook the valley as well as the infinity pool outside from multiple angles. Light flooded into the room, and the floor plan was open so that the kitchen could be seen. White paint decorated the other walls in the space. Overall, it had a very modern feel to it.
It was for that reason that she was surprised the homeowners wanted a more antique feel brought to the place. She would've expected something that would be more modern for the furniture and decorations too. The homeowners wanted the furniture to be black, white, blue and pink, and blue and pink were meant to be bold and bright. "I feel like they should've selected a different house," she truthfully muttered as she held the tip of the bottle to her lips in thought.
Honestly, she could care less about how he decorated the room, but she acted interested for the sake of fooling him. Tristan released a chuckle as she took a sip from the bottle. "That would make my job easier, but I like the challenge." He smiled and pulled out some other protected sheets of paper. "It'll require custom furniture for some of it, but the couple doesn't mind the extra expense." Passing her the papers, he waited for her opinion. "What do you think?"
"Are they open to gems? Might be a good way to bring in the color and antique feel while keeping it modern." She wasn't an interior designer, so she didn't know if that was even an accurate statement to make, but he hummed in thought and nodded as she handed the documents back to him.
"Maybe, in the lighting and any drawer handles for the dresser in the space." Tristan smiled. "Yeah, I like it." He looked to her eyes, and she met his gaze. "I knew that you'd be helpful."
Rolling her eyes, she shook her head in fake amusement. "No problem." A small smile rested on her lips before she took another sip of her drink. Tristan grabbed a pen and took the paper out of the covering to make the note before he put it back in. "You're even taking notes." She quirked a brow. "You could've just taken the advice and ignore it later. I wouldn't have known otherwise."
"No, that would've been rude and disrespectful. Plus, I really do like the idea, and I asked for your input." He already was rude, disrespectful and not to mention a pervert. Disgustingly, he probably had an old picture of her in a swimming suit thanks to Anita.
Slightly, she smiled again. "Well, thanks. Though, you really didn't need my advice for any of that." She chuckled a bit. "You seemed pretty confident in your decisions already on that whole room."
"I am, but I like running my ideas by someone else." He set the papers aside and leaned back on his hands. She really hoped that he didn't try to put an arm around her. "And, you're important to me." If he was referencing that he was calling her his girlfriend, she didn't comment. (F/n) didn't want to change her status if she didn't have to.
"Th-" (F/n) didn't get to finish her thank you since she practically jumped when arms wrapped around her from behind. Her jacket got wet from the water on them, and droplets dripped underneath it when the individual rested her chin on her right shoulder.
"You two need to get in the water already!" Anita complained, pouting and leaning forward more to glare at Tristan. "Stop showing her your plans and take her in the pool." She turned her pout to (f/n). "And, you shouldn't be encouraging him on. We're relaxing, not working." It was hard not to say some choice words to Anita, but (f/n) held her tongue and simply sighed.
"Looks like we're being summoned," Tristan joked, unzipping his white jacket. He had no hesitation in doing so. Did he expect her to stare? She wasn't interested. As for Lee ... A bit of heat touched her cheeks, but she quickly composed herself. Anita didn't notice, nor did Kaleb.
"I think that I like the plans more," (f/n) commented to Anita, who sighed dramatically and unwrapped her hands from (f/n). Tristan gave a small smile to (f/n), but he was a bit disappointed when she didn't check him out; however, he did see her embarrassed expression. So, she was just pretending not to be interested. Cute.
"Well fine." Anita crossed her arms and huffed. She glanced to Kaleb, who raised a brow before he sighed. Inwardly, though, Kaleb didn't mind at all. A grin touched Anita's lips. As (f/n) was catching onto the shared look, Anita snatched her root beer bottle from her, which distracted her.
"Hey!" (f/n) shouted. Her shout didn't draw much attention. Most else everyone by that point had left. Only the people doing laps remained. One of them was too focused on their exercising while the other two were headed off to the showers, and they didn't pay the group of four any mind.
With (f/n) distracted by Anita, Kaleb came up behind her and picked her. A yelp escaped her lips. "What do you think you're doing?!" she cried out, trying to get out of his hold. In the process, her silver flip-flops fell off. "Kaleb!" she shouted out in protest before she glared at Anita when she caught sight of Anita giggling. One of the people going towards the showers glanced back before she rolled her eyes and carried on her way while she muttered something to her friend.
Tristan tried to persuade Kaleb to set her down, but she expected that he didn't mind the arrangement at all. Otherwise, he would've put more effort into his attempt. Before Tristan could say anymore, a cry left her and water splashed upwards. Water surrounded her, and she didn't see the amused smirk on Tristan's lips. He wouldn't mind her shouting his name instead in the future but for different reasons.
Swimming up to the surface, she wiped water from her eyes and caught her breath. She glared up to them. "Not funny." Anita giggled and crouched by the side of the water. Before Anita could get a word out, (f/n) pulled her in. Quickly, she came up to the surface and sputtered out water. "Serves you right."
Instead of getting mad, Anita grinned again. "But, I got you in the water. Might as well take that jacket off at least," she teased before she swum away in victory. Kaleb joined his girlfriend soon in the water while Tristan took the steps into the pool. (F/n) swam over to him and muttered curse words under her breath.
"You okay?" he asked as she seated herself on the middle step. Her chin rested on the palm of her hands and glared to him. He rubbed the back of his neck. "I tried to get him to stop, but he wasn't giving up." She didn't let up her expression. "They probably just want you to have fun too and don't see looking over my plans as part of that."
"I guess," she huffed out before she lowered her hands to her knees.
"Should I get you a towel?" Before she could answer, a beach ball was thrown at them and hit Tristan in the face. He paused for a moment as the ball fell into the water.
"Sorry!" Anita called out, but she looked pretty amused.
Even (f/n) couldn't help but laugh a little and genuinely. He definitely deserved to get hit. Punching him would be more satisfying, but the ball hitting him would have to do. Hearing her, Tristan smiled softly and leaned down towards her. His face was inches from hers, and she leaned back a little. "What?" When he didn't answer, she became worried and hoped that he wouldn't try kissing her. Thankfully, he didn't, but her eyes widened when he pinched her cheek. "Should we go get them back?" he whispered to her. She blinked for a moment, and he chuckled lightly at her reaction.
"... I ..." She glanced over to Anita and Kaleb. A grin touched her lips, and she picked up the ball. "Yeah." Happily, she created more distance between them, and she made no motion to slip off her jacket and shorts. Tristan made no comment, but he did hope that he'd get to see her in just her swimsuit sometime that afternoon.
Meeting Anita and Kaleb halfway, (f/n) held onto the ball and smirked. "Ready?" This would get out some of her frustration. Anita crossed her arms and nodded with a grin. Kaleb got ready for the ball to be tossed as did Tristan. (F/n) threw the ball and hit it hard. Nearly, it hit Anita in the face, but Kaleb blocked it and hit it back towards Tristan and her.
For a bit, neither of them scored any points, and (f/n) was surprised that the ball was lasting so well when all of them were hitting the ball pretty hard. Thankfully, that ensured that no one thought anything odd of her extra hard hits. They switched teams at one point since they were stuck in a tie at that point, putting Anita and she on the same one. That let her aim for Tristan too. Eventually, Kaleb and Tristan won, but she did manage to hit Kaleb in the face at one point, which counted as a victory for (f/n).
Once the game was over, Kaleb and Anita stepped out to get a drink each for themselves. Tristan tossed the ball up and down for a moment before he looked to her. "Have fun?" She nodded reluctantly, and he chuckled. "I'm glad. Did you want to toss this some more or dry off?"
"I do want to finish my soda," she remarked, glancing back to it. Tristan nodded, and she was glad that she didn't have to be in only her swimsuit.
