Desperate to Finish

A/N: As usual, I would recommend putting the video on loop.

"(F/n)!" Desperately, Lee wished that he could yell out to warn her and she'd hear him. As soon as Anita grabbed the knife and began to get up, he was moving. Anita was too concentrated on (f/n) to pay attention to the creaking his limbs made and to see his movement. It wasn't until he was running that Anita finally averted her eyes towards him. The knife was swung through the air already, but (f/n) had heard the creaking. Before Anita saw him, (f/n) did. That was when she felt something swipe by her.

Pieces of her (h/l) (h/c) fell to the ground, and her (e/c) eyes widened in shock. She couldn't process the attack fully since Anita and the knife weren't near her for long. Hurriedly, Anita backed up, but she ended up hitting the table with the remaining dishes on it. Loudly, she crashed into it. The knife flew from her hand and clanged against the tile away from her.

Dishes broke under her weight, and the table slid back from the amount of force she crashed into it with. Barely, Lee had missed her. He slid against the tile and turned around; his eyes glued to Anita. Due to the table moving, Anita hadn't been able to keep her balance upright, and she slipped onto the tile.

Groaning, she glanced to her hands and was thankful to find none of the broken glass in her skin, but there was glass around her, so she kept note of it. Anita didn't pay attention to the lost knife. Instead, she met Lee's stare, and her light brown optics grew with horror. "W-What ..." she stuttered out and didn't finish her question. Lee remained on the defensive in case she tried to move again. (F/n) finally was regaining movement after her initial surprise at what just happened.

If the situation was different, Anita's next action would've been comical. She pointed to Lee, terrified, and exclaimed, "Y-You ... I ...!" Anita nearly forgot about the glass and pressed her hands into some nearby pieces. Noting her almost mistake, she quickly got back up to her feet. "What the h*ll, (f/n)?!" she shouted and focused on (f/n) now. "Wh-What's g-going on?! What s-sick joke is th-this?!"

Before (f/n) could answer, Lee was moving again. Anita freaked out and backed away more. (F/n) tried to step in, but Lee had grabbed the front of Anita's dress first. He retrieved a glass shard, and Anita screamed, struggling. "Get the f*ck off of me, you freak!" Almost, he struck her with the glass shard, but (f/n) rushed in and grabbed his wrist before he could.

"Lee, no! Remember what we talked about!" Lee's grip stayed on Anita despite (f/n)'s words. Lee did lower the glass shard a bit, though. He was extremely pissed, however. That b*tch could've killed the love of his life, and he severely wanted to plunge something through her flesh and watch her suffer. Oh how he could make her writhe in pain.

"What the f*ck does that mean?!" Anita shouted, her hands gripping Lee's wrist. "And, Lee?! You named this thing?!"

With an icy glare, (f/n) swiftly turned her attention to Anita. "Shut up. Or, do you want him to kill you?" Her tone was ruthless and indicated that she was being completely serious. If Anita ran her mouth too much, there was a chance that Lee still would attack her. Yes, he knew how to keep his composure, but she had a feeling that if he submitted himself completely to anger he might not give two sh*ts in the moment and just kill Anita.

Diverting her focus from Anita, (f/n) stared up to Lee and squeezed his wrist a little. "Lee, don't." His gaze fixated on Anita. "Lee, please. If you kill her, you know the risks. We talked about it." (F/n) stepped closer to him. "Please." Slowly, his hand with the shard relaxed. Glass fell to the ground and broke in two, but he didn't let go of Anita yet.

"Thank you." (F/n) breathed a sigh of relief before she looked back to Anita, who was still trying to get out of Lee's grip.

"Tell him to let me go!" Anita cried out. Before (f/n) could utter a word, Lee released her dress only to shove his hand against her and push her back. A scream parted from Anita, and she groaned in pain moments later when she hit the tile again.

"Thank you," (f/n) repeated, and her hands now rested on his arm before she stared to Anita. Her eyes turned cold again. "What the actual h*ll, Anita?! You're going to kill me because of that jerk?!"

Meeting (f/n)'s glare head on, Anita scowled. "You ruined everything." Her hands clenched into fists. "I could've remained ignorant of his cheating and been happy, but you stole that me!"

"Are you seriously in that much denial of what just happened?" (F/n) couldn't believe her ears. How had she been friends with someone like Anita for so long and never noticed? It honestly was terrifying to a degree, especially given what Anita just tried to do. "He cheated on you again despite his promise not to. And, you'd still sell me out just to be with him?"

"Better than being left with the payments here. I wouldn't have payments." Anger boiled in Anita's eyes. "I should've just ignored that stupid recording and stayed with him. Let you walk out of here looking like a fool!" She chuckled hatefully. "And, you're acting like you're better than me, but you're more f*cked up." Again, she pointed to Lee. "That right there is worse! I don't know what sh*t you got into, but don't come accusing me of sh*t when you were plotting with that monster!"

Lee went to take a step forward, but (f/n) put her arm out. "You're the monster, Anita. You're just too far gone to realize it."

Venom dripping from her words, Anita replied, "Ignorance is bliss, isn't it?" Her fingernails almost dug into her skin. "And, it would've meant fame and money in my case. Even a hot guy, who I liked a lot. But, you broke that." Anita waved her hand to the table. "We could've had a nice dinner, and you could've just gone along with our idea. Live in a nice place with Tristan and move on from this place, but no!" She drew her legs closer to her as she moved it get up. "You just had to mess everything up and work with a creepy a** doll!" Bitterly, she chuckled. "You were right on one thing; we should've trashed that thing."

"And, I'm glad we didn't." (F/n) wanted to punch Anita, but she also didn't want to get too close either after the attempted knife attack. "Unlike you, he actually knows how to respect and care for someone else."

Amazed, Anita started laughing. Disgust reigned in her optics. "Oh, I get it," she managed between laughs. "Now, that's really f*cked up." Lee moved again, but (f/n) gripped his arm and averted her eyes to him for a moment, but Lee didn't look to her; he remained concentrated on Anita. He didn't move again, though, for the moment.

Barking out a laugh, Anita got up to her feet. "Do you love him?" she chuckled out, quirking a brow. (F/n) stood her ground, and her fierce gaze said all. Anita chuckled again. "You love a piece of moving plastic?! And, you critique me liking Kaleb?!" Despite her laughter, only hatred dwelled in her light brown optics. "At least, he's an actual person!"

"What does that matter? His personality is rotten, and yours is as well." (F/n) now moved her hand to Lee's and squeezed it. "And if weren't for Lee, I dread to think what my future would've been like."

Rolling her eyes, Anita took a step back. "Whatever, you're crazy, (f/n)."

"Say what you want, but I don't regret my decision." (F/n) stood up taller, and she felt a sense of comfort wash over her when Lee moved her closer to him. "Now, am I going to stay somewhere else tonight, or will you? Clearly, it's not going to work with us staying together anymore." Her tone was firm. "Or, should I call the police?"

"You go." Anita signaled to the stairs. "Pack a bag and take your f*cking doll with you. You're the one walking out on this place anyway." She stepped to the side and motioned for (f/n) to walk by. Was Anita worried about the moving mannequin? Yes, she was, but her adrenaline, growing hatred and anger were keeping her somewhat together through the whole thing. And, those feelings were urging her to continue, and logic took a backseat at the moment.

Steadily and carefully, Lee walked with (f/n). He held her close, and as they passed, Anita stepped further into the dining room. Her hands rested on the table. "So unfair," she muttered. Lee only guided (f/n) faster to the stairs. Soon, though, another knife was missing from the table.

Both Lee and (f/n) heard running. Quickly, Lee turned around and blocked (f/n). Anita didn't make it. One swing from Lee and she was sent flying. Roughly, she slid across the tile. Lee advanced speedily, tired of her b*llsh*t. She needed to die, or she'd keep coming. He'd abide by the plan but only if (f/n)'s life wasn't threatened by any of them. Now, it was at risk.

"Lee!" (f/n) called out, reaching him and tugging his arm back. "Let's just hurry out of here! I'll just grab my wallet and the phone. Then, I'll make up some excuse for bringing you with me." Lee didn't budge. Instead, he stepped forward. "Lee!" He wished that he could tell her to let him go and that Anita was too much of a threat to her safety to be kept alive. Somehow, he'd figure out a way to keep her out of prison, to keep her from getting arrested. At the moment, he didn't know, but he knew that he didn't want Anita to kill her. So, he continued to walk forward. (F/n), however, stepped in front of him and rested her hands on his chest.

Like Lee, though, Anita wasn't wasting time. There was no way in h*ll that Anita would let (f/n) walk off while she was left with nothing. Things just didn't work like that. She'd always be one step ahead.
