Arrive to Eat
A/N: As usual, I would recommend putting the video on loop.
Both of them continued to talk over their drinks. Well, Anita was doing most of the talking, and (f/n) was just waiting for the others to arrive so that she could proceed with the plan. To make it seem like she was interested in the conversation, (f/n) hummed in response here and there as well as added a few words, which Anita didn't mind. Anita continued to discuss future group dates for them and how they'd keep in contact with both men after they left.
Almost finished with her wine, (f/n) was about to take another sip before they heard a knock on the front door. Anita jumped out of her seat and squealed a little in excitement. "It's happening!" she exclaimed and rushed over to the door. (F/n) rolled her eyes and smiled, this one genuine but for a different reason than Anita's smile, before she headed over to the door herself.
Opening the door, Anita smiled brightly upon finding both Kaleb and Tristan there. She closed the distance between Kaleb and her and wrapped her arms around his neck before she kissed him. (F/n), awkwardly, glanced over to Tristan, who stepped around the other couple and walked to (f/n).
"You're not expecting that, are you?" (f/n) asked with a quirked brow. She really hoped not, especially since Lee was right there. A pit in her stomach formed since Tristan didn't respond immediately. Furrowing her brows, she went to question him again, but he smiled and shook his head. He did lean down, and she turned her head in time so that he only kissed her right cheek.
Winking playfully at him, she forced herself to take his hand and guide him into the dining room. An amused smile was on his lips, and he figured that he'd get a kiss later in the evening. Or, several for that matter. Behind them, Anita and Kaleb followed after Kaleb closed the door. All of them took their seats, except Anita, who went to go work on the food. It was prepped, but there remained a few last minute touches.
To (f/n)'s right was Tristan, and Kaleb sat across from her. Frankly, she'd rather sit at a separate table. "So, have I finally earned your trust?" Kaleb asked, and (f/n) almost laughed out loud at the question.
"Hmm," she hummed out and smirked, "I don't know if I'd go that far, but I'm willing to look beyond your past." His past, however, was about to ruin his plans with Anita. "In time, maybe, you'll have earned it." Yeah, not going to happen.
"Well, thank you for having us over," Tristan mentioned, smiling to her. "Hopefully, this means that we can have dinner together more often." Nearly, she laughed again.
"We'll see. We still have to get through dinner," she teased before she leaned back. (F/n) heard Anita still moving about in the kitchen. She'd wait until Anita came out so that she'd be certain that all of them would be present. "Don't think you've won me over yet."
"I haven't?" Tristan joked and smiled. "So, then ..."
Quickly, she cut in and grew embarrassed. Truthfully, though, she was more disgusted by the memories of kissing him. So, she thought of Lee in his place to help her cheeks grow warm. "That's beside the point!"
Chuckling lightly, Tristan smiled, and Kaleb chuckled too. (F/n) huffed and looked away from them both as she crossed her arms. "Just because I kissed you doesn't mean that you've broken down my walls completely."
"So, how do I do that, then?" Tristan inquired, leaning over to her, and she smacked him against the upper arm. A light laugh escaped him, and Kaleb watched in amusement.
"Looks like it's going to be tough, Tristan. But, she likes you," Kaleb remarked, chuckling when (f/n) shot him a glare.
"Careful, Kaleb, or she might cancel the dinner," Tristan joked back, laughing all the more when (f/n) huffed again and rolled her eyes.
"Well, I can!" (f/n) exclaimed and clenched her fists as she wore a non-intimidating pout.
Reaching out and grabbing her right hand, Tristan smiled to her sincerely. Well as sincerely as he could, but she knew that his expression was nothing more than a mask. She too was wearing a mask, but it wouldn't be for much longer. "But, really, we're happy that you invited us, (f/n)." A sigh escaped her before she finally smiled to him and relaxed again.
"... You're welcome." She crossed her arms once he let go of her hand. Another sigh escaped her, and she indicated to the water, wine and whiskey on the table. "You both are welcome to the drinks while we wait." Kaleb took the water and poured a glass while Tristan had some of the wine.
After Tristan took a sip, he asked, "So, all of us are heading to the hotel after this, right?" Both men looked over to (f/n), who nodded. Tristan smiled. "I can finally show you some more of the plans I made. Maybe, we can order in some room service if we get hungry later on too."
From Kaleb came several chuckles, causing both Tristan and (f/n) to avert their eyes over to him. "Sorry, but, perhaps, you should have that conversation alone with her Tristan." He quirked a brow. "I don't need to hear your evening plans."
Suddenly, Tristan grew embarrassed, and (f/n) coughed awkwardly and diverted her eyes to her lap. "Right, sorry." Tristan placed a hand over one of (f/n)'s, and she just wished that Anita would hurry up. This dinner was getting on her nerves so much. "We'll talk about it when we get there."
"Yeah," she steadily met his eyes, "sounds good."
Before any of them could say anything else, Anita stepped out of the kitchen and walked over. She rested her hands on her hips and grinned. "Food will be ready in a couple." Anita glanced over them all. "So, what'd I miss?" A smirk touched her lips, and she averted her eyes to Kaleb. "Anything good?"
Cutting in before Kaleb could speak, (f/n) stood up from her seat and stepped over to Anita. She patted Anita on her left shoulder. "I'm going to go grab something." (F/n) rolled her eyes. "And, they were just being silly."
Curious, Anita grinned again. "Oh? What are you grabbing?"
Winking, (f/n) replied, "You'll see." Not allowing anymore questions to be directed at her for the moment, (f/n) winked again and left the room. She headed upstairs and resisted the urge to glance over to Lee, who remained in his usual position. (F/n) couldn't see it, but there was a smirk on Lee's lips. They were getting to the close of their plan, and those in the dining room were expecting something completely different from what (f/n) had in store for them. Soon, Tristan wouldn't be able to place his vile lips on her again. Admittedly, it was hard not to do something when he witnessed even the kiss Tristan gave her on the cheek, especially since Lee knew that Tristan had been aiming for somewhere else.
While she was gone, though, the three all shared glances and made sure to keep their voices down to a degree, but Lee could just hear them. Anita was grinning, Kaleb was smirking, and Tristan chuckled and seemed very amused. "I wonder what she's grabbing. Perhaps, she lied when she said that I hadn't broken down her walls completely," Tristan commented, a proud smirk now on his lips. "Soon, you two can get this place."
Sighing in relief, Anita nodded. "It worked perfectly. I don't have to feel bad about kicking her out. She now has you, and she'll be happy." She giggled. "And, we can really boost the popularity of the café." Her optics were now on Kaleb. "It's going to be great."
"Yeah, it will be." Kaleb took a sip of his water. After he swallowed, he smirked again. "Thanks again for the help Tristan. You made this easier than it would've been otherwise."
"No problem. And, I do really like her. I think that my parents will like her too." He sipped his wine before he set the glass down. "She'll do well in the company, and she'll like where she'll be staying."
"Well, she's staying with you, right?" Anita questioned, taking her seat for a moment.
"That's the plan. It's a suite, and she'll have a great view of the city." Tristan gave Anita an apologetic glance. "Personally, I prefer that city over this town."
Shrugging, Anita giggled. "I don't mind. I'll have Kaleb helping me here, and we can turn (f/n)'s room into an office for him." She leaned over and hugged Kaleb's arm to her. "It'll be perfect." Kaleb nodded and kissed her. Anita smiled into the kiss before she pulled away and got back up. "I'll go get the food. It should be ready by now." Before she entered the kitchen, she called back, "Just make sure that I don't miss (f/n)'s surprise! I want to see it too when she gets back down!"
Each of the men nodded. Lee, though, chuckled a bit. None of them had any idea of what was about to happen, and it'd be hard not to move when (f/n) revealed everything to them. The happy atmosphere among them would vanish, and they'd realize that they hadn't fooled (f/n).
