Joining Together

December 10th, 1952

Reader POV

Tom and I decided to move forward with the wedding, my previous fears addressed and met with assuring solutions. He was pleased to hear about my decision to stay at Hogwarts as I had grown very close to Horace and even got him to stay another few years. I knew Tom constantly worried about me and me being an Auror would only make him more worried than he already was, especially since we found out two weeks ago I was three months pregnant but wasn't showing much. He just didn't know about the next checkup which made my mood even more happy.

Right now, Mum was putting finishing touches on my dress which was a lovely (style) gown that I always envisioned myself in. She looked especially proud I was marrying someone from our world and someone she approved of, a very difficult feat as she wanted nothing but the best for both Philip and I.

"You're so beautiful," Mum said once she was finished. "I just wish your father could've been the one to walk you down the aisle."

Uncle Scorpius gently moved his sister, getting a glimpse. "She'll make the most beautiful bride, Cyg. She's the spitting image of her father, he is with us."

I held both their hands, happy that Uncle Scorpius was not saying anything sharp about my father. But I did not fail to notice the marks on their arms, something that terrified me. Tom did not have one of those marks, thankfully. I never asked, I assumed command went to my cousin Abraxas since most of the anti-muggle society looked to him for command but greatly respected Tom.

"I wish both of you were here." Mum sat down on the bed with a sad look. "But Philip is busy, I just wish he realized the importance of your wedding." Recently the family and Philip had a major falling out due to Philip finding out our mother and majority of our friends were part of the anti-muggle society and completely cut off contact, something I was sad about but understood.

I always grew up thinking he and I would do everything together, but clearly fate had other plans and in Philip's place came Tom, my dashing husband-to-be. "He made his choice, Mum. We have to respect it."

"I know, sweetheart." She leaned on my shoulder when I sat down. "You're my entire world, the both of you. I'll always be your mother, and I hope Tom doesn't piss you off! If he does, put him in his place!"

Uncle Scorpius snorted. "Indeed. We all know the only person who he listens to is you, (nickname)."

"And them." I walked over to a dresser and opened a hidden compartment, handing her the image.

My mother's hands flew to her mouth and she started crying. "No! But how?!"

"I've been pregnant for a while," I said with a soft smile as Uncle Scorpius studied the photo. "I'm going to give the other copy of the photo to Tom tonight, but I wanted to show you guys first. Please keep this between us, not even my maid of honor or bridal court know."

"I'll cherish it forever." She held the photo close to her heart.

Uncle Scorpius patted her back in a soothing way. "Our family runs strong with twins, hm Cyg? Do you know what they will be?"

"Boys," I said with a smile. "I'm thinking the name Pollux and Castor after the twins of Zeus, I had other names first but they seem the best fit."

"Not even going to let the father name them?" Uncle Scorpius teased. "You were always so determined."

"He can name the next one, or ones," I shrugged. "He promised to let me choose the first two, we do plan on having four, five children maximum."

"Big family..." Mum shivered. "You'll make a wonderful mother, honey. But let's focus on getting you married today, hm?"

Malfoy Manor was decorated in (favorite flowers), the many advantages of having magic as it was wintertime. Snow dotted the grounds creating a magical fairytale land that girls dream of when they want to get married in a winter wonderland.

Uncle Scorpius went to the area I was to get married at, kissing my cheek and wishing me luck. The music started, signaling the wedding was starting. My bridesmaids went ahead as the doors opened to reveal a candlelit path that extended to the lookout point where everyone else was gathered. The doors closed once more and I was left in silence.

Mum and I stood together in the foyer of Malfoy Manor, holding hands. "Sweetheart?"

I turned my head at the sound of her sniffles. "Yes, Mum?"

"You can always say no," she said with a quivering voice. "I would never make you marry someone you don't want to. I will support you no matter what, sweetheart. I love you so much, (nickname)."

I squeezed her hand. "I've waited long enough, Mum. I've pushed this off as long as I wanted to, I know this is the right decision. I want the love you and Dad had, that timeless love where you honor and protect each other. I have that with Tom."

She stroked my face gently and I kissed her wrist. "I know you do. I'm so proud of you."

The doors opened once more and the people all stood as I nervously walked down the aisle, lanterns floating in the sky as everyone lifted their wands casting dim but perfect lighting, and gentle music played. I looked around at the large number of people who were in attendance. Since I came from both the Livingston and Malfoy line and Tom was a direct descendant of Salazar Slytherin through the Gaunt line, our wedding was one to go down in history. Especially since it wasn't arranged and we genuinely loved each other.

My heart started racing as I got closer to the end, seeing Tom dressed in his wedding suit.

He saw me and immediately his hands went to his mouth and he bent over, possibly due to tears. "Moony...my (y/n)..."

I laughed as tears of happiness went down my face, Abraxas picking Tom up and dusting him off. I could tell he was crying too, but was trying to hold it together.

Mum took my flowers and sat down, giving me a wink of encouragement. I took Tom's hand as she did so, him squeezing it.

He leaned over as we walked up the altar together and whispered in my ear. "That's my girl. My beautiful, beautiful (y/n)."

The ceremony was quick enough, vows exchanged and tears leaving the crowd as well as ourselves. He waved his wand to perform the unbreakable vow, a vow that would mean one or both of us would die if broken.

"I, Tom Marvolo Riddle, do promise to love the (y/n) Andromeda Livingston for the rest of my life. I vow to protect you until the end of time and love you and our family. I will devote my days to your happiness and ensure your safety as well as your wellbeing, in sickness or in health. I will never be unfaithful and I will never abandon you, this I do promise today on 10 December 1952."

"I, (y/n) Andromeda Livingston, do promise to wed the Tom Marvolo Riddle. I vow to love you every single day for the rest of our lives. I will never forsake you and I will never abandon you. I will devote my days to be someone that can proudly stand beside you and I promise to raise our children alongside you to be better witches and wizards than we are, and to guide our family at your side. I will devote my life to your happiness, in sickness and in health. I do promise this today on 10 December 1952."

"If anyone is opposing their marriage, speak now or forever hold your peace," the Minister of Magic declared. Immediately, his friends and mine stood and held their wands in a threatening manner, much to everyone's amusement. "Then by the power invested in me, I pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride."

Tom wasted no time and kissed me passionately, dipping me and holding me close as everyone cheered and rose petals as well as snow fell onto us gently. He picked me up and ran down the aisle as people threw rice at us, me laughing at how his dark locks was covered in snowflakes and rice.

The after party was filled with speeches as well as warmth, the guests enjoying themselves and food constantly being served. Soon we found ourselves on the dance floor, just the two of us.

"I always knew you two would get married," Horace Slughorn said with an intoxicated smile. "You should've seen the way you looked at each other as children, he would've bent the knee as soon as he was allowed. But stubborn (nickname) always had him wrapped around her finger."

"Haha," Tom shook his head in amusement. "He isn't wrong." He lifted me up and spun me around, earning cheers and whistles from the crowd.

Once the music was done, everyone else joined us on the dance floor and got partying. The night seemed to never end and the DJ dismissed everyone to allow Tom and I to have a private first dance.

He and I moved slowly to the music, saying nothing but understanding that our longtime wish had finally come to pass.

"My wife," he kissed me multiple times. "My lovely, lovely wife."

"Tom, I have something very important to tell you," I said with a serious face.

"What is it?"

I got out of his embrace and went to my seat where I hid the photo and handed it to him, his face lighting with joy. "Surprise, you loon."

"Are they..." his shaking hands could barely hold the photo.

I took his hands and put the photo down, smiling at him. "They are. I'm three and a half months."

He got on his knees and kissed the bump. "My girl. Just as things couldn't get more perfect, they do." His face turned stern. "Now you two, whether you be boys girls or both-"

"Boys," I chimed in.

"You two boys better not give your poor mother a difficult time," Tom said as he pressed his ear to my stomach. "Otherwise we will need to have men-to-men chat when you are born, yes?"

Tom stood back up and kissed me gently, as if I was the most fragile glass in the world. "I love you so so much, Moony. Thank you for loving and trusting me. I will love you forever, and even long after that."
