Tegan woke up with the sun entering through the hotel room window, as they forgot to roll down the curtain last night. She tried to remain as quiet as possible to avoid waking up her boyfriend, but after looking towards his side of the bed, she noticed him sitting on the edge of it

Tegan: Hi luv

Kyle: Shit! - he got scared by her voice, clearly not expecting it

Tegan: Did I scare you? - she asked, a tad concerned

Kyle: *deep breath* Yeah, didn't expect you to wake up really

Tegan: Oh, what are you doing on the edge of the bed? - she tilted her head

Kyle: I just needed to be alone with my thoughts - he left out a little sigh

Tegan: Nervous already Panda bear?

Kyle: I feel like I'm going to explode - he took another deep breath

Tegan: Aww, i guess this might help - she wrapped herself around him in a hug from behind and laid her head on his shoulder

Tegan: Luv, listen to me. I know this is a really big match for you but if you're going to get nervous from now you're going to dread today and that's not the point, just relax and try to have the best day possible, got me? - she gave him a quick kiss on his cheek

Kyle: Can't promise much, but I'll try

Tegan: Neat! Because I think I have an idea for it - she said in a playful tone

Kyle: And what would that be? - now be tilted his head

Tegan: Guess you'll have to join me to find out - she let herself fall back in bed and Kyle followed suit

Kyle: Okay now what? - Tegan didn't answer, but rather just held her arms out to him with a small grin on her face

Tegan: You're going to leave me hanging mate? - she said in a cute voice

Kyle: Awww come here - he picked her up by the arms and lifted her like a little child

Tegan: *giggles* What are you doing ya daft? Put me down - she said while still giggling

Kyle: Okey dokey - he let her down and now he hugged his girlfriend tight as she laid on his chest

Kyle: Better now?

Tegan: Yup - she nuzzled her head on his shoulder - you're better now too?

Kyle: You know what? I am, thanks baby wizard - a smile formed in his face

Tegan: Yay! - she nuzzled her head on his shoulder with a dreamy expression on her face

Kyle: You're still sleepy? - Tegan nodded - Aww poor little thing! - he then stirred her hair a bit

Tegan: Hey don't do that! - she adorably pouted, now sleepy and messy haired

Kyle: *giggles* I'm sorry but you look so adorable like that! - he pecked her cheeks and kissed her, getting a smile from her too

Kyle: I love seeing a smile on that kissable face, but may I ask, you plan on staying there much longer?

Tegan: Yup you're a really comfy bed. You don't mind this right? - she looked at him with a pouty lip, trying her best to convince him

Kyle: Awww okay - Tegan then relaxed on his chest for a bit until Kyle's phone rang

Kyle: Sorry love but I have to see what is up there

Tegan: Aww. It's fine but don't think you're free from me! - she said in a playful, cheerful tone as he then picked up his phone and saw be had a message

*Kyle's phone*
Hunter: Hi kiddo
Kyle: Hi Bossman!
Kyle: What's to serve?
Hunter: Okay firstly please don't call me Bossman, you know you don't have to
Kyle: Got it
Hunter: Second. I imagine you know we usually do a bit of documentaries and stuff for the WWE PC channel on Takeover day right?

Kyle: Affirmative
Hunter: Great, because we were thinking of giving you one since you are main Eventing tonight

At that point Kyle's eyes widened and he let out a little chuckle in disbelief

Tegan: What's up luv?

Kyle: Just look at this - he showed her the text HHH had just sent him

Tegan: Oh my God that's amazing! - she hugged him tight and kissed his cheek again

Kyle: It's unbelievable - he couldn't stop smiling

Tegan: *giggles* Aww I'm so happy for you! But please answer him something don't let Hunter hanging! - she jokingly told her boyfriend

Hunter: Anyone there?
Kyle: Oh yeah sorry😅. It sounds awesome, thank you so much
Hunter: 😉

After that Kyle turned around and noticed a big bright smile in his girlfriend's face

Kyle: I know that face..... - he said in a teasing tone

Tegan: I'm so chuffed for you! - she bounced while sitting, unable to wipe out the smile from her face

Kyle: Awwww! That's my favorite part of this - he pinched her cheek - do you say we have a celebration breakfast?

Tegan: Yup! Just let me get cleaned up and we can go - they both got changed, cleaned up and went to have breakfast

*6 PM*
Kyle drove Tegan to the arena and once they got there he parked the car and they got down. That was when Tegan noticed a slightly nervous smile in his face

Tegan: You're feeling butterflies in your tummy luv?

Kyle: That's a pretty cute way to put it,  but yeah - his comment made her giggle a bit as she pinched his cheek, but before she could say anything they heard a voice calling for them

?: Kyle! Tegan! - the two of them turned around to see his mom, brother and sister in the sideways along with many other fans

Kyle: Awww hi! - he was quick to go and give his mom, Amy and Jackson a hug

Allie: Hi my marshmallow! - she got a glare from Kyle after that

Kyle: Mom.....

Tegan: *giggles* Marshmallow - she muttered

Allie: Tegan! - she said in a welcoming tone - you're not going to say hi?

Kyle: Yeah! How dare you? - he teased

Tegan: Oh sorry where are my manners, hi everyone! - she greeted them

Kyle: Hey, where's dad? - he tilted his head before noticing how his mom's expression got more serious

Kyle: What's wrong?

Amy: Dad was not feeling well so he couldn't come, but don't worry he's still cheering for you!

Kyle: Oh - his heart sunk after hearing his sister's words - hopefully it's nothing

Amy: Fingers crossed - she crossed her fingers

Tegan: Awww. Hate to cut the little Family reunion short but shouldn't we go in? - she and Kyle where about to leave when his brother stopped them again

Jackson: Wait! Actually we were told we have to go with you backstage to tape some stuff for the YouTube channel, you're going to leave us here?

Kyle: Do we have to take you in as well? - he teased

Tegan: C'mon don't be mean to your brother now! - she half teased half told off Kyle

Kyle: Aight fine - he put his arm around his girlfriend and kissed the top of her head - come on let's go in

As soon as they entered they were greeted by Triple H of all people

Hunter: Hi Kyle, hi Tegan - he then saw Kyle's family as well - I see we have company here as well, hi!

Kyle: Mom, Jax, Ames, this is Papa H, Hunter this are my mom, brother and sister - they all were greeted by HHH

Hunter: Pleasure to meet you all. I hope you don't mind but we need to start recording stuff for the mini doc, Kyle can you come with me please?

HHH guided Kyle to a room where a cameraman was waiting for him and they started recording

Kyle: So.... I'm on a Takeover Main Event, and that feels absolutely mental to say *chuckles*

Kyle: It's certainly been a journey up until now, one with it's ups and downs of any career but being in this position right now I wouldn't change it for anything in the world.  I've grown so much this past year, not only as a performer but as a human being as well

Kyle: I know most people see me as an underdog going into tonight and if you asked the me of last year he'd have said he feels like the underdog but I really don't feel that way anymore, i think I've earned a place on top of NXT and as long as I keep my head focused 100% of the time in the match i think I have as good of a chance as Tommaso of walking out with that Championship - a small smile showed in his face as he said that

Kyle: I've put so so so much work into getting myself ready for this opportunity, my family will be cheering on the stands, it's been exactly an year since my debut on NXT, it sounds a bit fairytale like and who knows? Maybe I put the happy ending to it? - he playfully stuck out his tongue while giving the camera a silly look

*End of the video*

Kyle then left the room and went to find his girlfriend, only to see that she too was filming something

Tegan: I feel like I'm having some serious deja vu with this - she giggled a bit - but it's just that so much has changed and at the same time it hasn't, like everything has changed in his life, in our lives, but he's still as dedicated to this as always and I know better than anyone how much this means to him..... - at that point Kyle entered the frame

Kyle: Hi love - he wrapped her in a hug - what's up over here?

Tegan: I was talking to them about how much this means to you but also how ready I think you are for it, you have this mate - she hugged back

Kyle: Awwww! She's been my emotional support for this for the past weeks and I can't stress enough how thankful I am to have this girl by my side. I'm definitely doing this for when you have a Takeover match and we give you your own doc

Tegan: I wish I got a doc or something like that

Kyle: We're making it happen, Tegan Nox amazing Takeover debut, coming to you soon - he joked, getting Tegan to giggle - but seriously thank you for being so supportive

Tegan: Well someone had to keep this big ball of nerves in check am I right? - she teased before flashing a cute smile

Kyle: Pfft! Don't act like you aren't a bit nervous too - he glared at her

Tegan: Okay fine, I'm so excited! - she started jumping a bit in excitement and joy

Kyle: I swear this isn't an act for the camera this is just how it is - he tightened his hug - love ya

*Two hours later*
Kyle was ready to go out, already in gear as the Main Event of Takeover was about to start. He started warming up when he felt how a hand was placed on his shoulder

Tegan: You're okay luv? - she tilted her head

Kyle: Kinda, I feel like I'm forgetting something but I'm just like so so so anxious and I want nothing more than to cross that curtain and get the match started once and for all - Tegan then put her palms on his cheeks

Tegan: Look, you already heard everything I have to say about this, just know that no matter what happens out there you'll still be the absolute best to me, I'm sure you and Tommaso are going to be incredible and know when you come back you'll have your girlfriend waiting to give you the biggest hug I can, now go and leave them gobsmacked okay?

Kyle: Yup! And prepare yourself, because I'm looking forward to when I come back - he planted a kiss on her forehead

Tegan: Aye aye captain! - she saluted - Now you go prepare for that match, understood?

Kyle: Got it, and I also got the best girlfriend in the world - he kissed her forehead and left

Just as Kyle made it to the Gorilla he got told he was told to do one more segment for the YouTube video, to which he obliged

Kyle: *deep breath* To be honest with you I am a big ball of anxiety now, i always am before my matches specially at Takeover, but no looking back now - he let out a nervous chuckle - wish me luck! - he then crossed the curtain as his theme song hit

The crowd reacted with a huge pop to Kyle, who entered in his Suns based gear to a welcoming reaction as he high fived the fans and stopped ringside with a grin on his face as he opened his arms to the cheers. He then slid into the ring with a look full of determination, then he started to look for his mom and siblings in the crowd until he saw his sister waving her arms trying to get his attention

Amy: Go Kyle! We love you! - her words made Kyle crack for a bit and show a genuine smile, but it didn't give him much time as the lights went out and his opponent entered

The crowd booed mercilessly as the NXT Champion made his way to the ring and raised the belt while the crowd loathed him before the introductions were made and the match started

*Beginning of the match*
Kyle and Ciampa were in their respective corners staring down, neither man wanting to budge first and attack. They started circling around each other for a bit while the crowd expressed their disdain for Ciampa with chants

Crowd 1: Fuck you Ciampa!

Crowd 2: You bald fuck!

The chant repeated a few times as Kyle cupped his hand on his ear

Kyle: They're not wrong - he said with a smug grin on his face

They then locked up and Ciampa quickly took Kyle down with a Russian leg sweep, but the President of Kick Country avoided a stomp, then got up with a kip up and hit a step up enzuiguiri that left the champ rattled. Kyle then tried to hit a belly to back suplex but Ciampa landed on his feet, only to receive a dropkick right afterwards, sending him to the outside

*Highlights of the match*
- Kyle hit a Suicide dive
- Ciampa dodged a diving senton from the apron to the outside
- Ciampa hit a Belly to back suplex on the apron
- Ciampa hit a rope neckbreaker
- Ciampa tried to go for a diving DDT but Kyle countered into an olympic slam
- Kyle hit a Lawn Dart + Blue Thunderbomb combo
- Kyle hit a Superkick
- Ciampa intercepted a Shotgun dropkick attempt with a bicycle knee
- Ciampa hit a widow's belle on the stairs
- Ciampa hit a Rack Bomb
- Ciampa went for the Fairytale Ending but got countered with a scorpion kick
- Kyle hit an over the head Belly to belly Suplex
- Kyle hit a cannonball on the corner
- Kyle hit a moonsault for a 2,5 count
- Ciampa countered a Sitout Alabama Slam with a sunset flip powerbomb

*25 minutes into the match*
Ciampa went to the top rope with Kyle on his shoulders, ready to hit an Avalanche Air Raid Crash, but Kyle escaped just in time and hit a running powerbomb. But instead of going for the pin, Kyle got up again and hit a Steenalizer on Tommaso

Crowd: Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy shit!

Kyle then backpedaled to the opposite corner and waited for Tommaso to get up and went for a shotgun dropkick again, but this time the Champion moved, making Matthews bounce off the top rope and encounter Ciampa with a forearm as he hit Kyle with s forearm of his own as well. Both men were groggy on their feet until Kyle pumped up his fist and hit Ciampa with a Pele Kick

Butterfly Effect!

Kylefornia spike!!

Kyle went for the cover, having the match all but won, but there was a problem, Ciampa had kicked the ref on the way up knocking the official out so nobody could count the cover

Crowd: ONE, TWO, THREE - Just at that moment Kyle realized nobody was there to make the count, rolling off Tommaso and burying his head on his hands. He then went to wake up the ref, turning his back on Ciampa

Kyle: C'mon ref wake up please please please - he started shaking the ref but got low blow Ed from behind by Ciampa just as the referee started to regain Conscience

Kyle's mind: Fuck! I forgot to wear the cup

Ciampa then picked up Kyle after the low blow and hit a Project Ciampa!

KICKOUT

The crowd went insane as nobody expected a kickout at 1 from that. Kyle then clinged to Tommaso's trunks while they both exchanged hate filled stares

Kyle: Fuck you - he spit on Ciampa and got hit with a Fairytale Ending for his troubles

The crowd filled the arena with boos as the ref raised the champion's arm and Kayla announced it

Kayla: Here's your winner and still the NXT Champion, Tommaso Ciampa!

*Backstage*
Kyle made it to the back only to be met by his girlfriend running full speed at him and jumping into a hug

Tegan: You were bloody fantastic! - she hugged him as tight as she could

Kyle: Awww thanks powerpuff girl, but could you get down please? I'm pretty sore - she obeyed and hopped down

Tegan: *Giggles* Okay. That low blow looked it really hurt - she then saw him start to blush - what's up now?

Kyle: Because it did, I knew I was forgetting something.....it was the cup I was supposed to wear for when we did that spot, christ that sucked

Tegan: *chuckles* You're a plonker - she couldn't help but laugh at his expense

Kyle: Hey don't laugh at me! That hurt! - he jokingly pouted

Tegan: Sorry but it was too funny not to - she tried to stop laughing

Kyle: Oh you think that's funny? This is funny - he started messing up her hair a bit

Tegan: Stop that's annoying! - he stopped and she folded her arms like a spoiled child

Kyle: Okay, you had fun at my expense, I had at yours, i think we're even don't you think? - he joked as he fixed her hair a bit

Tegan: Umm......yeah you could say we are panda bear - she booped his nose - do we get going?

Kyle: I have to shower, but man what I would give to just go to bed right now

Tegan: Awww poor Kyliepuff! Don't worry I'll take care of you - she kissed him a few times before Kyle picked her up by the sides

Kyle: I love you - he kissed her before putting her down and heading to the showers
