*Full Sail University*
Kyle was scheduled for a Tag match with Ricochet against the North American Champion Adam Cole and Roderick Strong that night. He made it to the Gorilla and started jumping to warm up when he heard a voice behind him

?: What's up bud? - Kyle turned around to see his tag partner Ricochet - the adrenaline kicked in yet?

Kyle: I mean yeah, I'm just excited, this is gonna be fun

Ricochet: Sure. Hey, remember the change?

Kyle: The change.... Oh yeah! Yeah I remember now, it's even better like this for me

Ricochet: Cool, don't you have to go out first dude?

Kyle: Oh yes, see ya later Rick O'Shea!

*In the ring*

Kyle made his entrance as he started high fiving the crowd, jumped over the top rope and got in the ring as he cupped his hand on his ear while standing on the middle rope

The lights went off and Ricochet made his entrance before Kyle joined him in the ring and they fist bumped

Kyle: That's a cool ass entrance man, I need an upgrade on mine

Ricochet: *chuckles* We'll talk about that when we win aight?

The Undisputed Era walked in and as Kyle and Ricochet waited for their opponents Adam showed a contract on his hand

Adam: Woah woah woah! Cut the music! - the crowd booed as the music stopped and KOR stopped Air Guitaring as well

Adam: You thought you could get your hands on me that easy you fools? This contract right here stipulates that neither of you two can lay a finger on me or the match is cancelled! So now Kyle O'Reilly, the superior Kyle by the way is replacing myself and teaming with Roddy. But regardless of who it is they're going to Absolutely destroy you two and THAT is.... Undisputed

*10 minutes later*
Matthews and Roddy were the legal men and were in the middle of the ring when they started to trade counter after counter. Roddy tried to pick Kyle up for a backbreaker but Kyle escaped it by flipping backwards and landing on his feet. He tried to hit a bicycle knee but missed and Roddy caught him with a Tilt-a-whirl Backbreaker. Kyle tried to tag out but Ricochet got swept out of the apron by KOR. The Messiah of Backbreakers tried to go for a Ripcord Knee but Matthews blocked it and set up Roddy for a Sitout Alabama Slam as Ricochet took O'Reilly out ringside before going back up and stealing the tag from Kyle before he hit his Signature move and tried to go for the pin, unaware of the tag

Kyle: Come on ref count it!

Ref: Tag made, you're not legal!

Kyle: Oh - he then turned his attention to Ricochet - What the hell dude!

Ricochet: Don't worry I have this

Kyle: You know I guess - he shrugged and sat in the corner watching Ricochet hit a 630 on Roddy

Kayla: Here are your winners, the team of Kyle Matthews and Ricochet! - Kyle helped Ricochet up as the ref raised their arms

Ricochet: I told you I had this, didn't I tell you?

Kyle: *chuckles* Okay fine you did, hug me brotha! - he put his arm around Ricochet and noticed Adam Cole sneaking into the ring from behind

Kyle: Hi Adam - he saw the leader of the Undisputed Era sizing them up for a Superkick and ducked under and the kick ended up taking out Ricochet out instead before Cole got on his face

Adam: You think this is funny huh? You think you can beat us like that you think we're a joke? - he noticed Kyle grinning - stop grinning like a moron. Answer me! - he shoved Kyle, who threw his arms up in defense

Kyle: You know damn well I can't do shit to you now, I'm out of here - he tried to leave but got surprised with a Total Elimination combo from Strong and O'Reilly as the UE posed to finish the segment

*Backstage*
Kyle made it to the back and went straight to catering, where he found Keith Lee, The Garganos, Dakota and Tegan

Johnny: Hey wounded soldier coming! - he handshakook Kyle - how's everything going?

Kyle: Exhausted, in pain, and I need a nap - he took a seat next to Tegan and rested his head on her shoulder

Tegan: Awww someone is knackered - she teased

Kyle: I mean I don't know if you saw the entirety of that thing but fuck I feel sore - Tegan instinctively hugged him

Dakota: You got the piss beaten out if you mate?

Tegan/Candice: Kota!

Dakota: What? It was a genuine question

Kyle: *chuckles* Well at least someone paid attention to it, thanks King! - they high fived - but anyways, what were you talking about before?

Tegan: Mae Young Classic

Kyle: Nervous love?

Tegan: A bit. It'll be worse tomorrow, lucky me I have this wonderful group of foes here but it doesn't mean I won't be super nervous tomorrow *giggles*

Keith: You don't have anything to worry about, you prepared for this twice and I think someone else already told this to you - he glanced at Kyle - but if you put your very best to it only good things will come out

Kyle: I say listen to him, he knows what he's saying. Also that was really wholesome dude

Johnny: Yeah, Keith have you considered doing an audiobook or something? I could listen to you for hours

Kyle/Tegan: I agree

Tegan: Yeah that was really wholesome, thanks lad!

Keith: *chuckles* No problem. Just put your heart to it - he then left

Kyle: Are you going to do that?

Tegan: Absolutely! - she said in s cheerful tone

Kyle: That's the baby wizard I know! - he planted a strong kiss on her cheek
and hugged her

*Next morning*
*8 AM*
Kyle was still asleep, as he had the day off from training to recover from the tapings from last night and because the Mae Young Classic was starting it's tapings that day. However his sleep didn't last much longer because he heard the buzz of his phone

Tegan: Hi luv
Tegan: Are you awake?
Tegan: I need to talk to someone or I'm going to explode

Kyle's mind: Awwww - he couldn't help but smile thinking of how his girlfriend was feeling at the moment and started texting back

Kyle: Hi you😘
Tegan: You're awake! Neat!
Kyle: 😂😂😂
Kyle: What did you want to tell me?
Tegan: Nothing in particular
Tegan: I'm just so anxious I need to talk with someone. Can we FaceTime pretty please?🥺
Kyle: Sure

Tegan wants to FaceTime

Kyle picked up and saw his girlfriend still on her PJs and a messy ponytail

Kyle: What's up love?

Tegan: Hi! - she waved at him - just woke up, Dakota is still sleeping and I'm just full of beans! - she smiled

Kyle: Let me address the elephant in the room. In a scale of one to you just met Kane how excited are you?

Tegan: *giggles* Can we go off the scale? Because I don't think I would be this excited even if I actually met Kane. Actually no I think Kane tops it all, him and Molly Holly

Kyle: *Chuckles* Will I see you do a Mighty Molly cosplay at least once?

Tegan: I wouldn't bloody dare, I'm not worthy of it. Perhaps Kane tho

Kyle: Awwww you're such a fan and I adore it! Completely different question, when is your first match today?

Tegan: I have my first match at 4:30 PM in theory, then at 6 o'clock and then at 7 and we're done, why you ask?

Kyle: Because I have an appointment with my doctor at 5 PM, everything good just a routine check so I'm missing your first two matches - he put on a face that said "sorry"

Tegan: Owwww, I wish you were there - she pouted

Kyle: Don't be sad! You can do this, I believe in you. At least I'll be there for the quarterfinals match, I promise I'll be cheering for you as always, you just go and steal the show alright?

Tegan: Of course! I have to go, bye love - she blew a kiss, making Kyle smile

Kyle: Bye Baby wizard. I love you

*5:45 PM*
Kyle made it out of his doctor appointment and started driving to Full Sail as he tried to call Tegan but she didn't answer

Kyle: Crap.... I guess she's already out in the ring again, at least I won't miss the other match I hope - he then went through his contact list and called Candice next

Kyle: Please pick up pick up please please please..... - he then heard a voice from the other side of the call

Candice: Hello?

Kyle: Hi Candice! It's me, Kyle

Candice: Oh yeah I saw that. Where are you?

Kyle: I'm on my way, literally I'm driving as we speak

Candice: Don't call while driving! - she told him

Kyle: Sorry ma'am, but it's hands off

Candice: Oh! Nevermind, how long you have until you get here?

Kyle: I think around 20 minutes, is Tegan in the ring?

Candice: She's about to go out, she has this match and.... Actually I'm not going to tell you, you'll have to figure it out later - she joked

Kyle: She already told me she's winning, wish her luck now

Candice: Damnit! I will

Kyle: Thanks Ms Gargano - he joked - bye! - he hung up and continued driving

*20 Minutes later*
After a few more minutes driving through the traffic Kyle got to Full Sail where he almost immediately met the Garganos

Johnny: Kyle! What's up dude? - they bro hugged

Kyle: Everything good, did Tegan's match finish yet?

Candice: Actually you're lucky she's still there, come on you don't want to miss the fun!

They went to the Gorilla and saw Tegan win her second round match with the Shiniest Wizard just moments after and went to the back where she was met by Kyle

Tegan: You're here! - she jumped into a hug as her boyfriend hugged her back

Kyle: And? How are you feeling?

Tegan: Knackered, sore, and I landed a bit funny in a suicide dive but I'm okay! - she tried to sound cheerful

Kyle: Hey, I know we told you to give your best but don't put your own health on the line too, be careful as well

Tegan: Luv I've been doing this for years upon years now, I appreciate the concern but I can take care of myself, okay?

Kyle: Okay, I just don't want anything to happen to you - he caressed her cheek - but anyways, who are you facing next?

Tegan: Tosh I don't remember, uh..... Oh yeah I'm facing Rhea Ripley

Kyle: You know each other?

Tegan: Not really, but we were talking for a bit before, she's cool!

Kyle: Sounds familiar.....

Tegan: Tall, blonde, Aussie

Kyle: Like Dakota right?

Tegan: *chuckles* You're lucky Dakota is not here she'd have already smacked you right in the face ya Plonker! - she pinched his cheek

Kyle: Oops - he shrugged with a sheepish smile on his face

Tegan: *giggles* I have to go now love, wish me luck! - Kyle kissed her forehead before she left

*An hour later*
Tegan was ready to go out when Kyle sneaked behind her and put his hands on her shoulders

Kyle: Everything okay?

Tegan: Jesus! You scared me - she took a deep breath

Kyle: *chuckles* Sorry, didn't mean to. How long til you have to go?

Tegan: I think 2 minutes, they'll call me so it's good - she shrugged and started jumping to calm herself down

Kyle: You know what you have to do?  - he started massaging her back

Tegan: Yeah, we have everything planned with Rhea and.... Oh that feels so nice! - she said reacting to the massages

Kyle: You're not doing anything that can hurt you right?

Tegan: No. Just a suicide dive on the ramp but we aren't going too crazy with bumps so that's okay

Kyle: Uhhhhh, I'd be careful with the ramp there, it's not the most fun place to land

Tegan: *sighs* Love, I appreciate your concern, I really do, but I can handle this, relax

Kyle: Okay okay - he threw his hands up in defense - I trust you, now go. Good luck

*In the ring*
Tegan made her entrance followed immediately after by Rhea. Tegan tried to shake her hand but got rejected before the match started

Tegan quickly hit a dropkick on Rhea and sent her to the outside before going for a Suicide Dive herself. Unfortunately, Tegan landed awkwardly and took a while to get up and started slamming the steps in frustration

Tegan's mind: Fuck! Not again please

She tried to continue for a few moments but was unable to, being forced to throw the X while crying

Tegan: *crying* I can't do this again! - she kept crying as the doctors helped her to the back

*Backstage*
Kyle joined the Garganos to watch the match and they saw the initial sequence

Candice: Go Tegs! - Tegan then had her awkward landing

Johnny/Kyle: Oh fuck

Johnny: *buffs* That didn't look good at all

Candice: Please not the knee again

Kyle just remained silent, watching as he was invaded by emotions, mostly fear and impotence

Johnny: Let's just hope for the best dude

A few moments later Tegan was taken to the back and sat immediately on a chair, Kyle saw her and went immediately to check on her

Tegan: I'm so sorry - she couldn't stop crying and Kyle just hugged her as tight as he could

Kyle: Don't be sorry, there's nothing to be sorry about everything is going to be fine - at that point Triple H came in  and went to comfort Tegan as well while Kyle could only watch when he heard a voice behind him

Rhea: Oh my God Tegan are you okay? - she rushed into the room and noticed Kyle - is she okay?

Kyle: We don't know, but that looked awful

Rhea: You two must hate me now, I'm so sorry - she was visibly moved

Kyle: What? Of course not, it was no one's fault, it sucks but there's nothing you could have done there

Rhea: *sighs* I know it's just I feel so terrible for her.... - her voice started to crack

Kyle: Hey, it's alright, we will take care of Tegan, just go take a shower and try to calm down. I'll tell her you came by

Rhea: Thank you so much. Please I hope she's okay

Kyle: *sighs* We all do. We all do

*An hour later*
*At the hospital*
Tegan was taken to the nearest hospital. Kyle made it there and went to ask for her in the reception

Nurse: Hello What can I help you?

Kyle: Hi good night. I am looking for Tegan Nox, she was brought here a few minutes ago

Nurse: Are you family with Ms Nox?

Kyle: I'm his boyfriend, can I come see her?

Nurse: Yeah, let me guide you - she lead him to Tegan's room door

Kyle: Thank you so much - he opened the door and saw Tegan on her bed

Kyle: Knock knock, can I come in? - be joked, trying to get a laugh out of her but Tegan turned around

Tegan's mind: Don't let him see you crying - she started sobbing again

Kyle: Awwww come here - Tegan buried her face on his shoulder as Kyle slid his hand over her hair trying to comfort her

Tegan: Why does this happen to me? What did I do? - she said in tears

Kyle's heart sunk and he tightened his hug

Kyle: I don't know, but what I do know is you're going to beat this. You did it once I know you can do it again

Tegan: No I can't. I'm done. Life doesn't want me to wrestle anymore

Kyle: *sighs* I know you're frustrated but listen to me, you're the most resilient person I know, and I also know for a fact you'll come back, and not only that, you'll come back faster Stronger and shinier than ever before, you got this

He stayed the entire night with her to make her company and once she fell asleep Kyle posted a photo of them in his Instagram
