Kyle was already in gear and warning up, as he had not one but two matches set for the tapings that night and needed to be in top shape for them. He put on his earbuds to get more focused in what he had to do when he heard some steps behind him and before he could do anything his eyes were covered by a two hands

Kyle: Who could it be? - he put his index on his chin

Tegan: Dunno, you tell me mate - she giggled, clearly having fun with the situation

Kyle: Could it be my favorite sweet little wizard? - he then got his eyes uncovered and Tegan got in front of him

Tegan: Yup! - she had a smile on her face, seemingly happy by what Kyle had just said - how's everything going?

Kyle: Pretty neat, just getting ready for my matches tonight

Tegan: Oh yeah right, I got something for you - she said in a flirty tone

Kyle: And what would that be? - he teased back

Tegan: Since you have to go out twice and need some extra energy I found you this cookie! - She said in a cheerful tone and handed him the sweet

Kyle: Why are you so bloody adorable? - he put his palms on her cheeks and a cute, silly look showed on her face

Kyle: My point exactly - he kissed her forehead

Tegan: *giggles* Must be a gift

Kyle: Yeah, the gift of making my heart melt - he pecked her cheeks and kissed her before she noticed he had an earbud on

Tegan: What you listening to mate?

Kyle: Oh nothing, just music to get me focused in

Tegan: No shit, but what exactly?

Kyle: Umm, this will be a bit embarrassing - he blushed a bright red

Tegan: What's it? - she asked, a bit amused

Kyle: I like listening to Paramore songs, it pumps me up for some reason - he then saw her face lit up

Kyle: What?

Tegan: You like Paramore too? - Kyle nodded - get out! I love them. Mind lending one? - she took one of the earbuds and put play to Let the flames Begin

After the song was over Kyle noticed a gleeful smile on her face

Kyle: What now? - seeing her so happy made him grin as well

Tegan: I have another Paramore fan with me, yay!

Kyle: Awww stop being so sweet! - he grabbed her by the shoulders and playfully shook her - I have to go now, see you late mate

Tegan: Wait! - just before he could leave she wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug

Kyle: *giggles* Now what?

Tegan: Oh nothing, this is just my way of wishing you good luck! - she leaned her head against his chest

Tegan: *giggles* Now you can go

Kyle: Fine, but before I do - he kissed her forehead - bye little wiz - he then left and Tegan turned around to see Xia behind her

Tegan: What's up Xia?

Xia: I have a question

Tegan: Shoot

Xia: You two are so sweet, where do I get one of those?

Tegan: *giggles* I guess you have to hit the jackpot - she shrugged

Xia: Oh, and how do you do that? - she joked and tilted her head

Tegan: *giggles* I can't with you right now - she lightly shoved her friend's head

Xia: Okay fine I'll stop acting like a toddler ma'am - she said in a sarcastic tone - but the cameras are about to get rolling, you wanna watch?

Tegan: Sure, c'mon mate

Xia: Last to get there is a rotten egg - she joked and made Tegan roll her eyes but smile at the same time

*On TV*
Kyle was scheduled for a match against Sam Gradwell that night but before that he was approached for a quick interview

Liz: Kyle, as we all know last week you issued a Challenge to the UK Champion Pete Dunne, and while you still haven't gotten an answer to that you do have a match with Sam Gradwell up next. Where is your mind right now?

Kyle: *sighs* Liz, Lizzy, Elizabeth, Beth - his silliness made the interviewer crack up a bit - I know where this question vis going and let me tell you my mind right now is 110% focused on Sam. As much as not having an answer to my Challenge yet kinda makes me a bit anxious I know in the meantime I have to stay focused here. Sam is one helluva competitor, we saw it in the inagural tournament and in the time we've been here I think everyone has gotten to see how tough of a competitor he is so wish me luck, I'mma need it - he winked, tilted his head and left for the ring

*10 minutes later*
Kyle and Sam were in the final bit of their match, trading strike for strike and counter after counter until Gradwell tried to hit a spinning back elbow only to get dodged and hit with a German Suplex followed by a kick to the knee before drilling Grado with a Superkick right in the jaw!

But Kyle wasn't done there. He backpedaled into the corner and looked to finish it, but before that he looked at the hard cam and said something

Kyle: Watch this Pete - he winked before hitting Gradwell with a Nos Da!

Announcer: Here's your winner: Kyle Matthews! - Kyle got his hand raised by the ref and he got closer to the camera to say something else

Kyle: Anytime now mate. I have all day for this - he said, directed towards Pete and left

*Backstage*
Kyle made it back to catering and found Tegan with Xia, KLR. Trent and Tyler

Kyle: What's up everyone? - he saluted the group in general before going to Tegan and kissing her

KLR: Get a room now! No news to get hanky panky here

Tyler: *chuckles* Beat me to the punch. Ready for round 2 mate?

Kyle: Sure! Just need to take a breather, that match was really stiff

Trent: Yeah, what's with that bruise - he pointed at a big purple bruise on Kyle's ribs

Kyle: Told ya the match was hard hitting, maybe a bit too much for my liking - he rubbed his bruise

Tegan: Aww poor baby panda! Here have an energy fuel hug - she hugged him and kissed his bruise

KLR: Tegan! We told you to get a room!

Tegan: What? One can't be a loving girlfriend now? - she defended herself

Kyle: Yes you can. It's not only allowed, but encouraged - he kissed the top of her head

*An hour later*
*In the ring*

Kyle came back out, now with a shirt covering his bruises from last match and a microphone in hand

Kyle: Well, turns out I have the day off so might as well use it to take out a few things off my chest, good plan innit? Nevermind because here's what I have to say. Pete, I'm sick and tired of waiting mate. All I want is an answer, it's not even that hard it's a yes or no question. Listen I understand you're busy with Wargames and the Undisputed Era and what not, but at least pretend you give a shit about this place because guess what? Some of us do, he'll, I've been around more than you and I wasn't even supposed to. So Pete, all I'm saying is prove me wrong, show me you give two f....

The UK Champion made a shocking return to the brand, interrupting Kyle and rejoicing in the chants from the crowd

Crowd: Bruiserweight! Bruiserweight! Bruiserweight!

Pete: Kyle, mate, you want an answer to your Challenge? You want me to show how much I care about this place? Kyle you better be bloody sure I accept! - the crowd erupted in cheers as the match was made official

Pete: You want me to put a time and a place? How about this very building, three weeks from now? I want to give you time to prepare because I want the best Kyle Matthews. And in fact I like the Kyle I'm seeing recently, this is not the you that's lost over and over again on the US, but even then, I still don't think we've seen everything you have to give, so between now and then I hope you impress me and prove why you're worthy of challenging the United Kingdom Champion!

Kyle: I like it I like it I like it! 3 weeks from now, Matthews vs Dunne? That sounds like a license to print money in my eyes. And you want me to prove how worthy I am? Let's start now. Pick me an opponent, anyone, I'm always in for a good fight

Tyler made his entrance to a huge pop of the crowd, as one of the founding fathers of NXT UK made his presence known

Tyler: Couldn't help but here you're looking for a fight aren't ya Kyle? - Kyle tilted his head to the side and nodded in approval

Tyler: Well good luck for you, I feel like having one myself. So what do you say we square up right now and see what you're made of? - Kyle took his shirt off and the match started

- Kyle blocked a Spiral Tap with his knees and hit a Diamond Dust
- Kyle hit a Springboard Shooting Star Press
- Kyle tried to go for a Sitout Alabama Slam but got countered into a Sunset Flip Powerbomb
- Tyler hit his rebound uppercut
- Kyle hit a Lawn Dart followed by a Sitout Alabama Slam for a 2,5 count

*14 minutes into the match*
Kyle was in control of things as Bate tried to get up in the corner and Kyle tried to hit a Shotgun Dropkick but Tyler moved out of the way, making Kyle bounce off the ropes and turn around into a forearm strike from the inagural UK Champion while hitting his own forearm shot as well before they started trading blows center of the ring until Tyler hit a jab, turning Kyle around and both almost collapsing due to exhaustion

Kyle: Gotcha! - he pumped his fist and hit a Pele Kick, but Tyler bounced off the ropes and obliterated Kyle with a rebound lariat

Pete: C'mon Tyler! - he cheered his friend from ringside as Tyler started to get up and looked to set the Tyler Driver 97

Bate tried to hit his finishing move but just as he lifted Kyle up he got countered with a Scorpion Kick. Kyle then stared at Pete, clearly rubbed off the wrong way by his previous comment

Kyle: Watch this Pete - he hit Tyler with a Bitter End and looked at an angry Dunne with a smug smirk before putting Bate on his knees and drilling him with a Superkick before finishing off with the Nos Da!

Kyle then realized what he had just done and the regret showed in his face but it was too late as a furious Pete entered the ring to check on Tyler and Kyle just rolled out before leaving while Pete stared into his soul

*Backstage a few minutes later*
Kyle made it out of the showers and was about to text his girlfriend to get going when he heard steps behind him and turned around to see Tegan right next to him

Kyle: I'm not falling for the same twice love - he grinned, having caught her almost red handed

Tegan: Awww. Okay, I'll settle for something else then

Kyle: Like what exactly?

Tegan: Well I see you have one bag so I hope you don't mind having to carry something else! - she jumped into his arms and wrapped him in a hug

Kyle: Then I'm the daft here - he scoffed

Tegan: Nope, you are MY sweet daft - she booped his nose, making him smile

Tegan: Need help with your bag? - he nodded and Tegan put his bag on her shoulder before Kyle hugged her back and kissed her

Tegan: Aww, but what was that for?

Kyle: Nothing in particular, just so happens my girlfriend turns out to be very kissable and on top of that adorable, so if you don't mind - he planted a few more kisses in her face

Tegan: *giggles* I could say the same - she kissed back - but for now the real question is, shall we get going?

Kyle: As you wish m'lady - Tegan got down and Kyle put his arm around her as they walked out
