four: vince
"Are you okay?" Dom asks as he steps between my legs as I'm sitting on a metal table in the large room, only a few feet away from the car and its parts that are scattered.
Mia and Brian retired to the room their sharing awhile ago, as did Vince, so I don't object as Dom steps in closer. I lift my head up from resting against the wall we're hidden by and wrap my arms around his neck.
"You seem withdrawn and quiet. If there's one thing I know, it's that Alexis isn't quiet."
I let out a laugh as I slap his shoulder. "Dominic!"
The corners of his lips curve up slightly before leaning down and pressing his lips against my own. Dom pulls away and cups the side of my face in his palm; he eyes softening as he observes my face. "What's wrong?" As I open my mouth, his eyes narrow. "And don't give me a bullshit excuse. Tell me the truth."
I rest my forehead against his, exhaling. "I've been thinking."
"Oh no."
There's a chuckle in his voice and I just roll my eyes. "After we do this I want to disappear. Go under the radar for a while. Maybe find a stable place to call home?"
The butterflies in my stomach begins to flutter faster. I know Dom is always pulled back into this life, and I know we tried before—or at least I did—before Dom left to keep me safe. But I know once we get this money, it'll be enough to get off the grid for a much needed break.
"I'd go anywhere you want to."
His answer catches me off guard. I lean back and raise an eyebrow in questions. "Really? Last time you left me."
There's a pain that enters his eyes, remembering the season Letty isn't with us anymore is because she wanted him to come back. "I'll always regret my decision. For many reasons. But once this is over, we'll lay low. I promise."
Smiling, I lean forward and take his lips in a kiss once more, pulling my body up straight so I can move closer. His hands travel down my back, causing goose bumps to spread across the skin, and settle onto my hips.
I let out a soft plea as he steps further into the space between my thighs, allowing friction between us. With each movement, a shot of pleasure courses through my body, making me bite down softly on his bottom lip. His hands tighten on my hops; finger digging into the flesh.
Dom's fingers begin to run over my top until footsteps begin to echo in the room. We break the kiss, Dom drops his hands from my body and steps back. Licking my lips, I watch as Dom watches and I stay put as I see Vince take something from one of the devices from the car.
"Almost wish I didn't see that."
Dom's voice breaks the silence in the room, causing Vince to swing his head to look at where we are, dropping a small piece which I can't see from here onto where he took it as Dom begins to walk closer.
"Almost."
I get off the table and follow to stand before Vince, crossing my arms against my chest as his eyes switch between the two of us.
"Wait Dom." Vince has his hands up, thinking that'll do any good, but I know better and Vince does too.
"Alexis and Mia were on that train." Dom pushes Vince back into the wall.
"I didn't know! I wouldn't do anything to hurt them!"
Dom step closer to Vince, getting in his face. "You set up the deal!"
"I thought the job was for the cars," Vince says in a calmer tone. "I didn't know. All they want is the chip."
A split second of silence before Dom leans forward, slamming his hands on either side of Vince's head, letting out a scream that echoes throughout the building.
"Dom," I say in a warning, but it goes on deaf ears.
"You should've come clean!"
The door to the room Mia and Brian are in opens. Mia walks out, "What's going on out here?" Her eyes take in the boys before traveling to me.
I shake my head, and I see Brian emerge behind Mia, also taking in the scene.
"Nothing," Dom answers, walking over to me as Vince follows.
"Please Dom, just let me have the chip. I can take this to them. I'll give it to Reyes and set things right."
Dom's eyes are set on me, refusing to look at Vince. "Get out."
Vince's eyebrows furrow in question. "What?"
"Get out!" Dom screams, pointing to the door and finally looking Vince in the eyes.
My heart clenches as I watch the exchange, seeing a guy who we've grown up with look defeated before masking it with anger. "Vince," I murmur, in hopes I can talk to him.
Vince's eyes travel to me as Dom shoots me a look. "Don't Alexis," Vince says. "It's not on you he never trusts me." He looks back at Mia and Brian before turning back to Dom. "Not when I told you he was a cop, and not now. You never trust me, and look where it's gotten us."
Pain pierces my chest as I think of everyone we've lost.
"Look at our family now. I can't go home!" Vince continues. "Your sister is stuck in this life!" He yells, pointing back to where Mia's standing. "So is Alexis!"
There's a beat of silence before his eyes go to me. "Where's Letty Alexis?"
My breath catches in my throat as my eyes begin to sting.
"Where's Letty?" He aims this time at Dom before walking away.
Sometimes when the pain is too much I find it easier to shut down—at least for a little bit. When Dom turns, pain in his eyes, looking at me, I shake my head as I turn and walk away, needing a minute to myself. Taking deep breaths, I will the sobs to not service as I find an isolated corner out of sight to sit down.
Pulling my legs up to my chest, I hug them as I close my eyes.
Our family just got smaller. I want to hold onto everyone we have left and keep them safe, but that's not under my power. If it was, Vince would still be here.
______________
The next morning, I wake up with Dom curled behind me with an arm around my middle. After my much needed breakdown, I found Dom waiting for me before we both decided to get some sleep.
Turning around to face him, I see his eyes are already open. "Good morning," I whisper, cupping his cheek and running my thumb against his cheekbone.
"Good morning." His voice is always rougher in tone in the mornings.
I wiggle closer in order to kiss him, bringing my left leg up to wrap around his waist. One of his arms slide under me so his hand can rest at the small of my back. Pushing against him, Dom rotates onto his back so I'm able to reposition to straddle his waist. I need this.
His fingers glide along my sides under his oversized shirt I stole to sleep in. Biting my bottom lip, I lift my arms so the piece of clothing can be discarded beside us. Leaning down, I move my lower body in a slow grind as my hair blankets beside Dom's head as our lips come together.
One of his hands rest on my bare thigh as the along travel down my naked spine, skimming down to the edge of my lace underwear before cupping my bottom, encouraging me to move against him. The feeling of our bare chests against each other makes me want to shed his pants this instant.
I lean away and stand, towering over him. Shedding the last piece of clothing, I raise an eyebrow at Dom. "Pants off—now."
His lips curve in a smile as he does what I ask.
__________
Coming out of our small room, I feel reenergized. Mia shakes her head, smiling, when she sees us walking over to join her and Brian where they're loading the chip onto a device.
"How nice of you two to finally join us," the youngest Toretto says.
When the screen lights up, I stand behind Brian. "What do you think?"
"Well, it's definitely a custom chip." Brian's finger travels down the side of the screen. "Look at all these side menus here for data entry. Let's check this one." He taps one of the options and a list starts to scroll down the screen. "Look at that. Same building, same over every week."
"It's a delivery schedule," Dom speaks up.
"What's this?" Mia questions, leaning forward and hitting a button at the top right of the screen to reveal a new list. "Drugs?"
"No, that's a dealer pack," Brian answers. "See, most major players they weigh their money so they don't have to constantly count it. Right there, that forty-nine kilos. Forty-nine kilos is a million in twenties."
"Holy crap," I say. "So, each one of these shipments is worth ten million dollars?"
Brian looks at me over his shoulder. "Yeah."
I send Dom a surprised look.
"So, what is that?" Brian asks. "A 100 million plus in cash houses?"
"That's how he keeps it off the grind," Dom adds.
"I think it's safe to say that Reyes is smart to want this back. It's his whole network right there, just laid out on a chip."
There's a clanging noise that sounds like chains moving. Everyone becomes alert.
"You and Mia slip out from up there," Dom directs of Brian and his sister, pointing to the windows that are open already. "Alexis, bust that boarded window and we'll go that way."
I nod, grabbing a heavy part that was once from the car we tore apart as Brian and Mia climb up to the windows, both jumping out as the door flies open.
an: the trailer recently dropped for the fast nine movie so I wanted to add this now. After watching it and seeing Dom and Mia have another sibling, I've decided once I write the eighth movie then Alexis's story will come to an end. I know I can wrap her and Dom's story up with how the eighth movie ended, and have planned to.
will a maybe do an au down the road of the ninth movie, possibility, but as of now this series with end with the eighth movie. but what'd you think of fast 9's trailer?
