afterwards I noticed venecia in contemplation

something deep .. heavy .. was on her mind

her face buried in my chest .. she confessed

missing her son .. not wanting her husband

I took all of it in with a grain of sand

encouraged her .. she's right to raise her son

hell, I ain't no homewrecker .. never have been

drying her eyes .. she asked what will I do now

I replied i'm not sure yet i'll move on somewhere

next day .. viola went to work

I dropped her off .. kept her car all day

soon met venecia down at native's creek

we walked some of the old native's trails

reached the nearest sand bar .. drank beer

discussed our past months of torment

we'd all lived in the snowy rocky mountains

how it began feeling good getting off coke

warming sun rose .. peaked high in the sky

spring was upon us not a moment too soon

we took our clothes off .. relaxed

drank a few more beers apiece

reminisced .. related what could have been

God knows we're both far .. far from perfect

passionately we began kissing one another

another day .. one more sin to remember

we kissed .. caressed for hours on end

I took her there .. where she'd never been

she whispered .. begging me to please her

it wasn't very long .. she begged me to stop

pushing me onto my back

in the squishy yielding sand

she got on top .. nervously

rode me until I screamed

hot .. panting .. sweating .. she collapsed

our plans changed but not our hearts

we whispered I love you to one another

knowing this was our goodbye forever

with regret .. slowly, gently we parted

tears glistening in our swollen eyes
