somehow i knew it was our last time

i could feel it in the air all around me

later .. cuddling in one another's arms

lisa related when she finds her house

she'll have it moved back where it belongs

fast forward .. several months later

I was passing through el dorado

thought i'd take an impulsive chance

i swung by her old neighborhood

empty lot .. bricks strewn all over

depression set in .. i knew i'd never see her again

kick started my hog .. slowly drove home

recently i'd pulled a back muscle

that night i took a few blue valiums

drank a six pack of heinekin light

before leaving the house i smoked a joint

columbian gold .. damn i got stoned high

riding stoned .. nothing to do in town

i was about to pass the skating rink

lightly tapped my brake .. turned in

been a few years since i've skated

it seems i'd picked a perfect time

only person there that i knew was kathy

she shared good news about buying the place

a few years back she'd been my jitterbug partner

she allowed me to warm up for thirty minutes

then she skated onto the light blue floor

she asked if i wanted to skate with her

to a few songs from the distant past

i replied .. i'll see if i can remember them

dancing on skates .. doing the jitterbug

said she'd like to skate a salsa .. i agreed

stoned high as i was .. rhythm came easy

i'd an awesome time .. finally took a rest

a big mexican hombre came over .. sat beside me

he asked if i'd like to meet his sister .. rosemary
