an entry for sara's cover contest for her awesome book, opia (treat yourself and check it out)

this was quite a challenge because i don't have much experience with the fantasy genre, and so i when i laid out the canvas i had no idea where i was going to start. at the same time, i had no idea what kind of colors i wanted to use, and when i did think about just using red, i didn't know how to make it work. gah, i was so frustrated. 

but anyway, in the end, i came up with something that could hopefully pass the fantasy merit X) but overall this was super fun, and a new learning experience c:
