So once my sisters were assembled, I declared myself the Fairy Queen. Then, my sisters who were the kindest, the most delicate, the best with nature, I delegated them to the job of observers and carers of nature, splitting them into groups and sending them to different regions of the world. The strongest and bravest of my sisters received the job of guards. They looked for threats- wild animals, asteroids, volcanoes. Later, when demons came, they assisted me in leading the fairies into battle. The ones I knew the best were my handmaidens, my assistants, my advisors.

And one day a male came. He was unlike anyone we had ever seen before. He was handsome and elegant, and my sisters were all over him. Not me. He radiated power, though. Lots.

"Sisters," I said, "Step back and let me through." They did as I asked, and I stepped forward to him.

"Where do you come from?"

"Not far away," he replied. "Close to your star, I believe."

I nodded. "Welcome." I turned to my sisters and said, "I am afraid I have to declare our new brother off-limits. He is simply too powerful and too handsome for any of us to have."

They slumped, wings drooping. I turned to him and he smiled coyly. "Of course, Your Majesty. Just forgive me if I have a hard time staying away from you."

He kissed my hand, and that was all it took for me to fall in love with him, the Fairy King.
