Farewell to My Reflection
Walking down a lonely street, I finally found my precious reflection.
I had been eagerly looking for her since that unforgettable winter day.
I never suspected that I would find her while running in a wrong direction.
She was imprisoned in an eerie handful of thorny roses and sulphuric clay.
I quickly pounced on her, grabbing her with fearful hands and a tremulous heart.
But not even my most desperate endeavor could keep her by my side.
She is wearing shadows and desolation, playing some kind of magical art.
Now she is ready to abandon me forever, to become the death’s bride.
How could I live without my dear reflection? Thousands of empty mirrors yell at me.
This is my curse, my biggest disgrace, to wander alone with no representation of my soul.
Heavy darkened chains make me a mournful prisoner, with no mighty allies to set me free.
With eyes wide open, a trail of boiling blood runs throughout my body, turning my skin into coal.
I silently fall to my knees, begging at my reflection to have mercy on me by remaining here.
But she is not listening at all, not paying attention to the pathetic scene that I portray right there.
Disdainfully she looks at me, and I can feel her poisonous hatred which is forcing me to disappear.
Sharp, revengeful nails are furiously tearing my flesh, destroying me with a pain that I cannot bear.
With the very last bit of my strength, I contemplate how cruel my reflection has turned to be.
She whispers in my ear that now it is time for me to pay with my life what I did to her pride.
I bitterly remember how fiercely I insulted her, so she is going to kill me to the count of three.
Goodbye, beloved reflection, I was not able to realize before that you were beautiful inside.
