Jeongguk cracked an eye open, the digital clock glaring 4:03 a.m. "Too damn early," he muttered, wiping a hand over his face.

He looked down at his bare chest, then to the side. Shezam was sprawled out next to him, just as naked, still deep in sleep. The sheets were a mess, all twisted up like they'd been through a storm. A storm of lust and desires that he shared. A few wasted wrappers lay scattered around, but Jeongguk couldn't care less. Maybe a count of 4 present around, Latex.

He ran a hand through his hair, letting out a low grunt. "What a mess," he said under his breath, glancing at Shezam, who was still out cold.

He peered at the clock again, hoping it'd magically change. Nope
still 4:03. Too late, too early. "Ain't life something," he mumbled, his words disappearing into the quiet room.

Jeongguk sighed, shifting restlessly. The room was warm, and so was Shezam’s body pressed against his. He pulled Shezam closer, skin on skin, hoping it’d help him drift off, but it only made him more awake.

He ran a hand down Shezam’s back, feeling the heat between them, but sleep was nowhere in sight. "Too damn hot for this," he muttered, frustrated, his body aching for rest that wouldn’t come.

"The heck I can't get sleep; I should just wake up instead."

Jeongguk tossed the sheets aside, seeing he was down to just his black briefs. "Seriously?" he grumbled, running a hand through his messed-up hair. He spotted his pants, slipped them on, and left his shirt behind. After tucking Shezam in, he headed for the balcony.

The cold hit him hard as soon as he opened the door.

"Ugh, freezing," he said, shivering.

He pulled out a cigarette, searching for his lighter.
"Where’d you go?" he muttered, finally finding it. He flicked it open, shielding the flame from the wind, and lit the cigarette.

"Finally," he said, taking a drag. He leaned against the railing, letting the smoke curl into the night air.

"This is what I needed," he murmured, the chill and the cigarette easing his restlessness.

Jeongguk looked out and saw the city lights twinkling under the dark sky, streets below glowing faintly, and the cold night stretching endlessly. There was a comfort to watch it out.

He looked out at the city, then remembered V’s message. He fished his phone from his back pocket, unlocked it, and saw no new messages—just his old ones from last night. A smile crept across his face as he started typing a message.

Jeongguk stared at his phone, chewing on his cheek, waiting for V’s reply. He took a drag from his cigarette, watching the screen like it’s gonna magically make a message pop up.

"C’mon, dude."

he muttered, blowing out smoke, "just hit me back already." He kept refreshing his messages, feeling this weird itch for a reply he didn’t even get why he needed so bad.

"Why’s this gotta be so annoying?" he grumbled, fidgeting with his phone.

Taehyung breathed in the fresh air.

He sighed, fidgeting with his phone, waiting on that one notification from JK. His mind was all over the place.

"Man, should I even hit him back? Like, I literally just got his message a few minutes ago," he muttered to himself, biting his lip. The thought of being seen as clingy made his chest tight.

He glanced at the screen, the words blurring as his doubts crept in. "Bruh, what if he just leaves me on read again?" The thought alone made him groan, scrolling through their old chats, looking for a sign that maybe this time would be different.

Taehyung glanced his wrist watch, it showed 18: 09. A Boba was placed beside his posture, he played with the back of his phone.

"You know what? Let's just do it,"
