♡ ~A Melted Heart ~♡

××In context this is based in the Fairy tail   world as these are Next Gen children.××

Their small bodies were standing there in front of him as he couldn't believe they couldn't see themselves. The kids' face were distorted and wrinkled as they laughed and it almost seemed like they were stuck in a time loop where they could never stop. What did he do that was so funny anyway? All he could remember was reading a book, and suddenly some kid accidentally bumped into him and made him drop his book. The little boy couldn't understand why the person he had bumped into immediatly was laughing a trecherous cackle that could shake earth's core after they bumped eachother. He started to wonder if it was because of him. Maybe he accidentally said something or did something that made them laugh. The boy decided to join the others in the laughter but they all stopped with disturbed looks on their faces. Was he laughing weird? He was trying so hard to understand them in every way he could, but he just couldn't. He heard a one of the boy let out a annoyed tone from his lips "Weirdo..." It was as if he did something to offend the boys. Though the little boy just stood there as he watched the boys walk away from him.

"MALCOM!" The teen had heard a high pitched yell that blasted inside his ear before he woke up with a startle. Malcolm's blonde hair fell over his blue eyes as he groggily looked at the girl who decided she'd be his alarm clock this morning. Sukie was his little sister, and she was probably the worst yet best sibling almost anyone could have. She was annoying, funny, outgoing, and known as the local trickster. Compared to her Malcom was seen as the responsible one whenever he met anyone new. This gave him a headstart which he usually appreciated since he didn't have the best social skills. He closed his eyes as the events of the dream replayed in his mind very easily since this wasn't the first time he had this memory resurface. As a kid, Malcom was quiet and reserved as he found it as a everyday challenge to try and talk to people. It wasn't because he was shy or nervous, but because he couldn't understand people's emotions and actions. Whenever someone talked to him they'd smile or frown, and Malcom would get confused and say something wrong. This caused alot of bullying in his past, which he didn't know was bullying until he started reading books on how to understand others' actions and emotions. Ethics was his biggest friend, which caused him later on to pick up subtle messages about a person and read them like a book. It was fun for a while until it wasn't...

The boy's feet hit the ground as he got out of bed as it was his sister's will to have him make her breakfest. Malcom didn't see any reason to say no as he was quite hungry himself. "So, before you ask me what I have planned for today I'll tell you what I already did this morning!" Her teeth were pearly white and looked sweet, but Malcom knew she was as venomous as a rattlesnake. "I set up a trip wire in Mr. Culiver's hen house to when he trips it the hen house roof will fly off and my contraption will catapult the chickens into the air setting them free!" She extended her arms out in a excited way as her hands moved up and down to show celebration. Malcom closed his eyes for a moment as if he was stopping himself from going crazy, before he picked up a plastic spatula and hit her across the head. "You are going to help him round up all his chickens unless you want me to burn your eggs on purpose." He wasn't even threatening her. She had stayed up all night and had a few friends over which kept Malcom up until she finally went to bed herself. He was going to burn her eggs on purpose, so why not have another good reason to do it. Sukie whimpered as her hand went up to her head and she rubbed it. "That hurt you big jerk..." Sukie pouted as her legs walked over to the table and sat down in a chair. "I guess if I happen to walk by his house I'll help him catch his chickens." It wasn't hard for Sukie to do the right thing she just needed a push, and in this circumstance it was her eggs.

After 15 minutes of cooking both of their breakfasts were cooked and smelling appetizing. Malcom didn't take long to notice the glare from the other end of the table. Her voice was sharp and vengeful as her voice emerged. "YOU. BURNT. MY. EGGS. YOU. PRICK!" Sukie grabbed the table by it's corners as she was trying to flip it over. Though once she looked back over to Malcom she realized he had placed his elbows on the table to keep it on the ground while he continued eating and ignored her antics. Sukie decided to go with her next plan as she picked up the dish and rammed in into his face. She couldn't help but burst out laughing as the plate fell off his face but the egg yolk had covered his face as it then allowed the bacon to stick it it as well. Anger. Malcom couldn't hold in the emotion anymore as he slammed his hands on the table and gave her a dreadful glare that ceased her laughter. She went cold as she ran off out the front door to save herself from being killed. The deep sigh that had escaped the angered boy's lips was very devastating as it would be if depression had a sound. Malcom headed into the bathroom as his hand turned the hot water on then the cold water to balance it a warm temperature that he liked. Malcom spent the next several minutes washing off his hard worked breakfest off his face.

There was the laughter again, as Sukie was seen talking to the other guildmates about her chicken prank she set up this morning. The guild they belonged to was well known by alot of peopleas it was, the long toothed kitty cat itself, Sabertooth. Malcom didn't especially care for the title as he wasn't exactly a big fan of cats. It wasn't just that, Malcom actually had a fear of cats ever since he was a kid. It was the classic scratch from a wild cat he thought would play nice scenario. Though even after all this time he still hadn't gotten over his fear. There was a small tap on his shoulder as hid head turned it's way around to face the person that just touched him. The blonde hair in front of his eyes still didn't stop him from recognizing who it was. Arron. He was one of the triplets that were in the guild, and in his opinion Arron was the most annoying. Malcom didn't like his friendship with his sister as the bit encouraged her to do these stupid pranks that could majorly lead to her getting in alot of trouble. Arron was considered the goof ball out of the triplets just as Sukie is considered the fun one out of the two of them. This would eventually lead to a friendship between the two that no one asked for. Malcom quickly pushed his opinion away as his mind watched him.  'His dimple, nose, and hand are all adjusting to the left as his eyes are avoiding eye contact....' Malcom hated his life because of this. After so many years of studying the human interactions and the observation of everyone he met Malcom couldn't be surprised anymore. He knew the boy was going to ask him to spar with him before he could speak. With this ability Malcom read everyone like a book, but as a punishment life became boring. Malcom knew more about people than they probably did themselves.

Surprisingly this made making friends alot harder as he couldn't grow close to anyone. From the start he'd know most of their secrets without making a bond to the point they'd tell him themselves, because they were close. Sadly that couldn't happen, because Malcom always found a way to slip up and say something he wasn't suppose to find out till later. People usually call him a stalker or a creep after this and just walk away leaving him alone once more. Arron was about to adk him about sparring before he was cut off by a Ravishing young lady walked into the guokd as cameras were flashing at her through the door and hardcore fans were screaming her name. Malcolm's eyes could have made a full loopy loop right there and now if Alexa, one of the triplets, wasn't walking over to them in that moment. The raven haired girl had a streak through her hair which surprisingly enhanced her absolutely stunning features that she had already. Alexa's red eyes were eye catching and almost  fully captivating as she could lure in any guy she wanted with just a bat of her eye. Malcom wasn't annoyed with the girl he just didn't like how she caused so much attention to herself wherever she went. She was the star model in Wizard's weekly, and it wasn't a lie that she looked just as good in person than in the magazine itself. After her first few photo shoots her career took off and she started to pick up fans left and right. It wasn't long till the whole town adored her. Thst much attention to the guokd is what annoyed him the most.

Her hands laid on her hip as Alexa's eyes looked at the two boys before her words started to process. "I need one of you to come on a quick mission with me. It's close by, but I can't do it by myself so I'm asking if you'd like to at least." Malcom looked over to Arron and noticed his hands fidgeting as he knew the boy wanted to say no, but was kinda scared to say it to his sister. Malcom knew no matter how annoying the boy was he was going to have to take a bullet for him as he let out a soft sigh. "I'll go but I expect half the cut." He said setting a requirement before they head off on their journey. Alexa actually looked offended and upset, but didn't fight back as she just let it happen. "Whatever. Just come on." She said as she walked over to the mission board and tore off the mission she wanted. Malcom looked back towards Arron as he had these puppy eyes on his face then mouthed, "Thank you", before Malcom headed off with Alexa.

They weren't exactly friends, so the trip was quite quiet except when they'd walk through a town and Alexa's fans asked for Autographs. Malcom was getting a little mad at this, but still kept silent until Alexa finally spoke. "I can tell how annoyed you are with the attention. If you want I'll cover my face so we can get to our mission quite faster." She said only to tease him, but he nodded and handed her a mask. The mask would just cover half of her face, but she still wouldn't be recognized either. She took a second to stare at it as if she was trying to see if he was actually serious. After a few minutes she gave in and put it on as people soon stopped noticing her, so the trip did in fact go faster. It was getting dark outside, so they set up a camp in the woods as Malcom had brought a tent just in case this task was going to take more than a day to finish. Alexa helped set up the fire and dragged a log over so they'd have some where to sit and stay warm near the fire.

The crickets were chirping and the frogs were croaking in the nearby ponds. Malcom and Alexa were found sitting on the log nearby as Malcolm's eyes were pinned to the fire. To make conversation Alexa thought she could start it off. "I guess all the Autographs I did today did slow us down a bit. Next time I'll make sure I'm not noticed as much." She said trying to make amends since he seemed annoyed earlier. Malcom sighed and glanced over at her then back at the fire. "It's fine..." he said very coldly since he wasn't exactly used to being alone with one other person. "Well since we are spending the night let's get to know eachother! Name 3 things you like then I'll do the same, and we can go off of that!" Alexa suggested with a very positive energy. Malcom stayed silent before he answered her. "....I like silence, training, and views." He said quick and without another word. Alexa sweated a bit since he emphasized on the silence part as she cleared her throat. "Is there a reason why you have to be such a downer?" She asked pouting a bit. Malcom looked at her and shook his head. "No, It's just easier than trying to be so conversational." Malcom said still looking at her. Alexa looked right back him then looked away "Fine, if you don't want to talk then we won't!" She seemed pretty upset with him as the two didn't speak for quite some time.

Time past and the mastermind of sleep was finally entering them as it took Alexa first. Her head bobbled for a moment before it leaned against Malcolm's arm. He was quite shocked by her sudden action, and was going to push her off till he said her restful face. Her eyes were closed tet her face still radiated alot of beauty. This caused his heart to pound a bit in his chest. Malcom let out a soft sigh before grabbing his jacket and placing it around her as he didn't move her off of him. He couldn't wrap his head around what he was feeling since this was a little new, but he didn't say he didn't like it either. Malcom sat like this before a ginormous yawn erupted from him as he knew he needed to rest. Malcom turned his body a but and picked up Alexa's body in his arms as she fell towards his chest. Her warmth was comforting and gave him a nice feeling all over. Malcom took her inside the tent and placed her down, but as he did sone pieces of hair fell in her face. He gently moved his hand over and moved those strands behind her ear. He didn't notice fir a second, but he caught himself staring at her again as he couldn't help but admire her features. Malcom began to think of all the times her smile made him feel better and when her bright personality made his day. Though he quickly pushed all that out if his head and went to bed a few feet away from her.

Malcom was the first to flutter his eyes open as the sunlight had broken through the fabric of the tent. He turned his head and looked at to Alexa who appeared to still be sleeping peacefully. Malcom thought back to last night and how upset he had made her, so he decided to make it up to her. He walked out of the tent and grabbed a spear the two had brought with them, as he proceeded to take it over to the pond that was nearby. In the pond were quite alot of fishes and creatures he could cook over the fire. Though his eyes landed directly on one giant fish that would feed both of them if he spread the food correctly. Malcom rolled up his sleeves as he readied his spear before releasing it and missing the first try. Malcom continued to try this for the next few minutes, before he angrily placed around the pond trying to get a new angel. Though he accidentally slipped in fell in, but when he regained his sanity he saw the fush right in front of him and quickly grabbed it. In a very happy mood Malcom got back on the land and made sure the fish was dead before he headed back to the campsite.

Not long after he made two plates full of fish and berries that he knew were safe. He waited for Alexa to wake up, and after some time her head popped out if the tent in a very groggy way. Though as soon as the smell of cooked fish filled her nose she perked right back up. Malcom glanced at her then looked away as he held out her plate. "Here." He said in a very stern manner, but inside he meant it in a nice way. Before Alexa took the plate her lips had formed into a sly smile. "Awwww did you get wet just trying to get me some fish? I didn't know you cared so much!" She then took the meal and started eating. Malcom didn't reply back to her since he knew she was just trying to get him worked up. Once they both finished their plates Alexa stood up as she seemed very headstrong "Welp let's hurry up so we can get this quest over with!" Her feet started to walk off in their original direction as Malcom sighed and quickly packed everything  before following close behind her.

Unlike earlier Malcom started to talk to her alot more than he did when the trip first started. He called Alexa over when he noticed a pretty butterfly, he talked to her about the guild, and even told her a few jokes. After a few hours the two actually got pretty close, and surprisely Malcom was almost even smiling at this point. They made it to their destination as it appeared to be a town that was a long way off the main road. It appeared to abandoned, but Malcom took quick notice that he could see people looking at them through their window. Both of the Wizard's were very confused, but just right after they said that they heard a blood curdling roar in the distant. Only a mile away was a giant dog in the distance. The fear could be smelt from everywhere as the people in this town were petrified. Malcom was getting uncomfortable before he pulled Alexa close to him without realizing it. Suddenly the smell of fear was gone and the more he relaxed the more he could smell roses of some sort. Malcom realized that it was coming from his guildmate , and he was already enraptured at this point as he leaned down and placed his head on top of hers before looking forward to the dog. "You take left I'll take right..." Malcom then quickly darted off leaving Alexa in confusion with why he had just placed her head on top of hers.

The battle had begun as the dog roared massive fire from it's mouth. It's heat was intense as it was making Malcolm's skin red just being beside it. Alexa was on the other dide of the dog as she was waiting for the signal to attack, since it appeared to have a blind spot on both of it's sides. Malcom waited for the beast to walk up ahead a bit, so they wouldn't be able to see their attack in time to even defend. After a short time the signal was given and both wizards laid powerful blows on the mighty beast. One after the other as the attacks almost seemed endless, but their luck quickly turned upside down. Alexa was hit by the beast's foot as it felt like a million pounds of force had just been dropped onto the pour girl. You could hear the shatter of bone as the torturous screams filled Malcolm's ears. The body was limp and looked broken as there were bruises and cuts from being pushed into a tree and bushes.

Something snapped in him that day...

His body was filled with boiling anger that he had never felt before as he suddenly got absorbed into a black smoke of pure choas. The dog looked petrified as it's whimpers were echoed inside the black creature. It took a second to realize that Malcom had taken the power of his 13th zodiac spirit key. The black force grabbed the dog's leg as it tore it off of the dog's body. Bloody stained grass was the only thing seen for miles after the black force continued to play with the devil dog. Until it was finally dead....

Malcom walked out of the smoke as he straightened himself up then rushed over to Alexa quickly as he stared down at her fragile being. Though a part of him couldn't look her in the eye. When he transformed and used the power to sick revenge on the dog he couldn't help but like it. This was the part of him he refused to accept since he knew he wasn't a bad guy. Though the taste of power like that felt absolutely wonderful to the point Malcom wanted to use it alot more in the future.

His enlarged eyes noticed that the girl's legs were broken as they had snapped in half completely. Malcolm's hands were shaking as he held her close to his chest and carried her. He didn't stop even once. Malcom continued to take one step after another as he walked miles and miles with the girl in his arms. She would wake up and scream in pain, which only caused Malcom to make her unconscious once more. He couldn't see her like that he just couldn't. A tear fell from his face as he was thinking this was his fault for not transforming earlier. If only he had known she couldn't move in time he would have done something..... anything.

After days of pure walking he was able to make it back to the guild as the nurse took Alexa in immediatly. Malcom couldn't help it as he passed out from exhaustion as soon as she left his arms. His eyes fluttered open to see a brightly lit room as the walls were painted right and around him were curtains. His body was drained from all the nonstop walking he did, so when he reached to move the curtain out of the way it was alot harder than usual. Though once the screeching noise of the moving curtain stopped he met eyes with someone he didn't think he'd see again.

Alexa's smile was pure as she softly spoke "Hey there..."

Malcom held back tears in his eyes as he couldn't help, but smile himself. "Hey..."

She was Safe, and at the end of the journey he gained a friend. Finally....
