Eddie Kaspbrak didn't enjoy his life at home, not at all.
He was only fourteen when he came to the realization that his mother had lied and manipulated him into thinking he was cautiously sick.
All the pills and medicines he took poisoned him to the point where he couldn't think, sleep, or sometimes even breathe.
The asthma attacks were real, the panic attacks were real. Most of the night would think over the episodes like they only happened days ago.
The burning sensation in his chest, and the blackness that filled around his eyes. His mother screaming in horror seeing her son in such a condition.
It felt like Eddie was drowning, he can't breathe and the pressure on his chest blackened his sight. It was petrifying.
It gave him nightmares and sometimes night terrors. It'd get so worse that he mentally refused to sleep.
It was all because of Sonia Kaspbrak. Eddie hasn't spoken to her like he truly loved her for three years.
He couldn't bare to forgive his mother for doing such a things to him, but he came home to her everyday. He put up with her everyday. After her husband had left her she didn't take it so well and took out her anger on Eddie, who at the time was only eleven years old.
This went on for months until she decided that Eddie wouldn't leave her if she told him he was sick. She had mentally and physically scarred the boy for life.
She figured moving to Derry would hopefully be a healthy way rekindle their relationship.
Although moving to Derry seems like a worthless movement to Eddie, he actually felt a little bit more better than being in his previous hometown. Well considering he only moved into his new house last Friday, he made new friends at school and a new crush.
It wasn't easy at all for Eddie to love again, since all he went through was pain, abuse and abandonment. Such a small person with a soft heart held the entire world on his shoulders and at any moment, he could give up and let it crush him.

Eddie gripped the straps of his backpack tightly, nervously walking up the stairs into his new home. His small hand grasped the steel, cold door knob. He twisted it and the door creaked open.
The air was cold, heavy and dark inside, like an isolated cave. He stepped inside and scanned the rooms and hallway before stepping on the first stair.
Then a voice sounded through his ears, freezing Eddie in place.
"Eddie bear, how was your first day at school?" Sonia's figure came out of the darkness and into the light. Eddie gulped, looking at the woman who stood above him.
"It was f-fine, mommy." Eddie stuttered in fear, gripping the straps on his bag even tighter.
"Do you make any new friends?" She asked lowly, making the word friends sound like a disgusting disease.
"Y-yea I did. They want me to go with them-"
"Eddie, we talked going out before, didn't we?" Her response sounded more like a threat than anything, causing Eddie to feel smaller.
"Yes, but I hadn't had an episode in a while and I like these guys." Eddie gulped once again as Sonia glared down at him. Piercing her cold dark brown orbs into Eddie's nut brown ones.
"Please Mommy, just for tonight." Eddie pleaded. He'd love for anything to take him away from his mother for a while. "Fine. I'll let you go but only if you're back before 9:30." The large woman pointed her index finger to the clock. Eddie nodded, trying to contain his small smile from showing.
And with that Eddie dashed up stairs and into his room. He locked the door, setting his backpack and sweater on the holding rack.
Eddie stared at his clock with disappointment. It was only 4:24 pm. He sighed loudly and collapsed onto his bed, blankly staring at the white ceiling.
He waited for the phone besides his bedside to ring. He burned for it to ring, to hear the curly boy's voice again. Eddie loved his voice more than anything, and he only talked to him a few times, but he didn't care.
Richie made Eddie feel as if all the problems printed on the boy, had vanished. Eddie craved to see the boy again.
The thoughts of them being together, holding hands, and Richie lips against his, made the boy blush uncontrollably.
He thought of Richie until the ringing of the phone caused Eddie to jump up. He grasped the phone and untangled the curly cord before pulling the speaker to his mouth.
"Hello?" Eddie waited for a response. He sighed in relief as he heard Richie's voice sound from the other line.
"Hey Eds! Um I just wanted to check in and see how you're doing." Richie grinned greatly, like a child.
"I'm doing just fine at the moment!" Eddie perked as happiness filled his mood. From Richie's perspective, he bit his chapped lip nervously.
"Hey I wanted to know if you have time to hang out right now?" Eddie thought for a moment, staring at his door trying to hear any sound come from his mother.
"Uh sure, I can." Eddie grinned as he heard the quiet, excited squeal Richie did. Eddie briefly explained the directions to his new house and Richie followed on quickly.
"Okay, I'll be there in 10." Richie perched as hung up the phone. Eddie smiled gratefully, hopping off his bed and practically running to his dresser to find something presentable to wear.
He pulled up his shirts one by one and threw them back into the drawer with an expressive groan presenting the perfect scene like some girl from a cliche movie getting ready for a date.
Eddie finally settled on a light blue button up and cargo shorts, much like what he was wearing today.
He looked into the mirror and brushed his wavy hair he his fingers, not caring much about how it's styled anymore.
The small boy paced back and forth across his room. Occasionally looking outside his window and biting his nails nervously.
Eddie didn't have an explanation to why Richie wanted to hang out hours before their movie night with the losers club.
Three minutes passed by and Eddie spotted a black truck with Richie in the driver's seat, pull into the driveway.
As soon as Richie stepped out of the truck, Eddie bolted outside his room and down the stairs, like he was the Flash.
Before Richie's hand could knock on the door, Eddie swung open the door. Richie smiled, raising his hand in a wave.
"Eddie bear, who is that at the door?" His mother called from the kitchen. Eddie sighed in distress before responding.
"Just my friend!" And with that said, Eddie stepped outside and slammed the door shut.
Richie covered his mouth in fake shock as he grasped his shirt where his heart would be. "F-f-friends?!" Richie exclaimed dramatically.
Eddie playfully rolled his eyes, a slight smile tugging at his lips as Richie giggled.
"Come on!" The taller boy gestured Eddie to his truck as he skipped over. Richie, opened the passenger door for Eddie once he followed.
"Thanks." Eddie hummed, sitting in the seat and buckling his seatbelt. Richie swung the door shut before walking over to his own side and hopping in.
When Richie turned the key into the ignition, loud music played on the speakers almost blowing out Eddie's eardrums.
"Jesus dude!" Eddie scrambled for the volume turner, turning it to the lowest volume . Richie laughed as he turned it up so they could actual hear the lyrics sung by the singer.
"Guns n Roses." Richie gleefully said as he finally backed out of the driveway and into the street.
"Huh? Who is that?" Eddie said in confusion as Richie stopped the truck dead in it's tracks. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. He shook Eddie's shoulders, like he was waking him up into reality.
"Oh my god, Eds. Guns n Roses? The greatest rock band of the twentieth century?" Richie explained as he pressed on the gas pedal to his truck. Eddie shook his head in response before speaking. "No, never heard of them." Eddie shrugged.
"Just-- just listen." Richie said as he turned up the volume on the radio. The guitar solo playing loudly as Richie lowered his window down, waiting for the October breeze to hit his face.
He bobbed his head to the music, taking in every lyric and melody that came from the speakers and soon starting to sing along with the singer.
"Now and then when I see her face."
"She takes me away to that special place."
"And if I stare too long, I'd probably break down and cry."
Eddie watched in awe, heart skipping a beat everytime he hit a small note with passion.
"Woah, woah, woah, sweet child o' mine."
"Whoa, oh, oh, oh, sweet love of mine."
Eddie couldn't help but turn the volume up a little more and roll down his window to feel the breeze. This made Richie grin as he looked at Eddie, who returned the smile.
"She's got eyes of the bluest skies."
"As if they thought of rain."
Their minds taking them to where ever place they wanted, both living in the moment. Richie singing to the top of his lungs and Eddie smiling and laughing as Richie danced along with the song, not having a care in the world. And in that exact moment, both Eddie and Richie felt whole again.
"I'd hate to look in those eyes."
"And see an ounce of pain."
