Oh, I feel so much better now! Wait a minute, where am I? I wake to see the carved wooden ceiling of the nurse's office. As I sit up, the nurse, a round, older witch, hurries over to me.

"Oh, honey, are you feeling any better? Your friends said you took quite the tumble. What happened?"

Tumble? No, I didn't fall off the bench, did I? If I did that would explain my head hurting. Oh, dear, now I'll be the laughingstock of the school! Why oh, why did I think napping in the cafeteria would be a good idea?

"Yes, I'm fine, Mrs. Leolan," I say, "I was just exhausted. I haven't been sleeping well at all."

Mrs. Leolan tut, tuts at me. " Well we can't have an overly tired Lunalight, can we? I'll give you a sleeping draught and you can sleep for the rest of the day. I will excuse you from classes, and tell your group to bring you the homework that you missed. I want you to take a two-day break to just rest and take it easy. Come back to me if you still can't sleep, or have one of those birds bring a note. What she referred to as 'those birds' are my two familiars, Soot and Snow. Soot is a grumpy, all black crow, and Snow is a gentle, pure white dove. Because they are my familiars, I can speak to them and understand them when they speak. As I meander back to my room, I run into Theo, the class bully. He is big, bad, and is horrible at magic. Despite coming from a purely wizard family, he can barely do magic.

"What do you want, Theo," I ask calmly.

"Skylan," He sneered, his voice filled with hate, "Is wittle Skywan okay? Was wittle Skywan hurt?" He asks in a fake baby voice, which then changes to a high-pitched girls voice, "Oh, no, Skylan fell! We're all gonna diiiiieeeeeee!" He cuts off with a smirk, but I'm so tired, I don't care. I push past him without saying a word. Luckily, the girls' dorms are just a little ways away, and I can slip into the long hallway that Theo can't come into. No, he truly can't. If he tries to, he will be overcome by nausea and weakness. It is the same with girls trying to get into a boy's dorm. You can request a pass for a few hours if you really need it, but needing them is rare since there are common areas that everyone can get into.

I walk through the twisting halls of girls dorms, wishing, not for the first time, that our dorm was closer to the entrance. Instead, ours was in the very back of the wing for girls. Once I got there, I changed clothes and crawled into bed. Then, I drank the sleep potion and fell into a deep, dreamless sleep. I woke up at eleven at night, well rested, to find my group fast asleep around me. I sneak into the common room within our dorm to find my homework sitting on my desk. I grasp my wand, and, whispering a light spell, sit down to do my homework. Maybe I can get another sleeping draught tomorrow because right now, I am so well rested, I couldn't sleep if I wanted to! I open my books and prepare to do some real studying...
