I wake up at my desk to find my group in various stages of getting ready for the day. Anya is over in the corner, putting on her robes, Phoenix is barely visible behind the bathroom's almost closed door, brushing her teeth, Amanda is packing her books, Skye is putting up her hair, and Lucile is worrying over a huge pimple that erupted overnight.

"How am I going to go to class with this thing on my face!" Lucile worried.

"Here, let me help you." Anya comes over, her robes partway undone, her undergarments still visible. She grabs a makeup brush and some concealer and looks at Lucile's face. "Wow. That is huge! Maybe I'll try an acne spell..." She wanders over to my desk, and I hand her my book of spells we are allowed to use at school. She flips through it, muttering while she does so. In a moment, she looks up. "I found it!" Anya picks up her wand, touching it to the pimple. "Acne that you see right now, go away before I say wow!" A burst of red sparks makes the zit start to shrink until there is nothing there but a slightly red spot. Anya returns my book and slips back to the more private corner to finish dressing. Phoenix comes out of the bathroom, her bright red curls damp, but somehow still springy. She ties it up in a bun, otherwise ready to go.

"Do you want me to send Maple up with your food?" Phoenix askes. Maple is her familiar, a pretty red-brown cat.

"Sure, thanks a lot, Phoenix," I say sincerely.

"No problem! Don't hold her up though. My first class is Advanced Bonding with your Familiar, and I need her for it.

"That's fine."

My head drops to my desk as soon as they are gone. I feel horrible! I guess this is the side effect of that sleeping potion. Too soon, though, Maple walks in, balancing a tray of food on her back.

The note in her mouth says

Get well soon!

Classic. I got the same note the last time I didn't go to class, and Skye got a similar card when she skipped class one day. The only difference was that hers had told her "That you learn more when you don't skip class." I tap the inside of the card once before drifting again into sleep...
