After barely surviving an attempt on her life, alchemy student Ariel investigates her new supernatural roommates as possible suspects. Nothing can prepare her for the secrets she is about to uncover about her own family—or her infuriating demon roommate's constant attempts to get under her skin.

Ariel is no stranger to bad luck. Life has been an uphill battle with an estranged father and a stepbrother who hates her. Studying alchemy feels like a dream come true, at least until Ariel suspects one of her new supernatural roommates might be trying to kill her. Refusing to be an easy target, she uses her alchemy skills to protect herself and dives headfirst into her own investigation.

When unsettling truths about Ariel's family and the world she lives in come to light, she realizes that those she suspects most might be her best allies. None of her newfound friends are quite what they seem-especially Haze. A demon of sloth should not be this hard to avoid, yet Haze defies all expectations, making it increasingly difficult for Ariel to deny the growing attraction between them. Still, the closer Ariel gets to finding out the truth, the more she fears her trust may have been misplaced.

Over the course of the month, we asked for your thoughts and opinions on several questions in the genre. We are delighted in reading all your answers, and here are some of the pulses of the community!

If you were a legendary hero in a fantasy epic, what would be your signature weapon or special ability?

Mu6ber - a scythe, dagger, or bow

Ampre6 - If I were a legendary hero my signature weapon would be a scythe or sword

Local_Aussie - oh a bow/arrows, butterfly dual blades. And if it's a power it would be to steal souls with those weapons :)

Gauravaaditya - I would want a pen that gave all the write answers when asked!

If you stumbled upon a hidden treasure trove guarded by a mythical creature, would you risk your life to claim the treasure or leave it undisturbed?

Mona26042009 - I'd probably leave it undisturbed, to be honest. The mythical creature guarding it would likely have its own story or reason for protecting the treasure, and I wouldn't want to mess with that. Plus, there's always the chance that taking the treasure could lead to dangerous consequences.

babybabylittlebaby - I would leave it alone. Life is a treasure in itself. Why risk it for a treasure that does not belong to me?

airenho - I would leave it alone! The mythical creature doesn't need someone disturbing its space! However I would definitely be taking a peek because that treasure trove would be quite a sight .

If you could attend a magical school of your choice, which school from fantasy literature would you enroll in and why?

JanGoesWriting - The Unseen University from the Discworld stories. I would try very hard not to upset the Librarian, though. He has both very long arms and holds grudges.

-winterprincess- - I would [love] to go to the Foxfire Akademie or Exillium from the Keeper of the Lost Cities books. It's my all time favourite series and it would be so cool to see all the fantastic characters and buildings in real life and having classes like the [universe] or elementalism<3

BrianMullin0 - I'd likely have unusual or oddball magic abilities (Cat Magic!) so I'd choose Tamora Pierce's Winding Circle Temple as a place to learn. They show great patience with those who have hard-to-classify talents.

FullerofStories - I would choose to enroll at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. The enchanting setting and diverse curriculum, including subjects like Care of Magical Creatures and Potions, would provide endless opportunities for adventure and discovery. Additionally, the rich history, strong sense of camaraderie among students, and iconic events like Quidditch matches make it an ideal place for a magical education.

Imagine you possessed the ability to communicate with animals in a fantasy realm—what kind of conversations would you have and what knowledge would you gain?

msmist2 - This and that. Their societal structure, hierarchy, cuisine, taboos, [allies], enemies, opinions on other beings of the fantasy realm, if they are lactose intolerant, if they know any forbidden magical creatures, if they like chocolate, if they wanna be netflix buddies.. This and That.

ahnjenjae - I'd ask cats, but feline animals in general: How can you eat rancid food, having a horrid breath, yet still your [fur] is so soft and it smells freshly washed? I clearly need a feline lesson about it lol

Elcarim_writes - our conversation will be about how we both lives are different and also i think i will gain the knowledge of knowing what to do when i see a sick animal, just won't let them die or get captured.
