"Starlight." I tell the cat. "Your name is starlight." He mewed in reply.

I stood up and walked back into Nolan's house with star on my shoulder. Nolan and his dad were back in.

"I have decided!" His dad spoke. Nolan looked like he had just made the biggest mistake of his life. "You shall live with us from now on! If you need anything, ask nolan! There's some old girl clothes in the atic, and the neibors said they'd donate some." His dad stood up and left out the front door.

"I'm so sorry...." Nolan said with his hands on his face. "I told him you were an orphan. Now how am I gonna get you home?" He said regretfully.

"Actually, I kinda.... I kinda AM an orphan..." I said sheepishly.

Nolan looked up. "Kinda?"

I didn't like to talk about it, but I probably owed it to nolan for saving me, and accidentally getting me a home here. "My mom died when I was 8, and my dad & sister disappeared when I was 7. They just left that day... And never came back..."

"That's mean! He left with your younger sister?" Nolan said disgusted.

"No, older twin sister." I said quietly. "She always was the better one. Much prettier and smarter then me..." I whispered. I looked away from him In shame.

Nolan stood up, and patted me on the back awkwardly. "Well, if your twin dose come along theres no way I'd trade you for her." He said.

"She was always better than me at everything." I mumbled. "She couldn't take losing, and would cheat if it looked like she would lose in a game, or anything. I could always tell if she cheated, but I never said anything. No one else could tell. She was always so innocent when others were around. I understand why father loved her more."

I hugged Nolan. He looked scared, not sure what to do when a girl hugged him. When I let go of him, he retreated outside saying he had to meet his buddies for a game or something.

And after he left, I banged my head against the wall for being so sentimental and weepy. Dumb period.

Star, still on my shoulder, mewed for food. I went into the kitchen and gave him a fish that was sitting in the fridge. Wow it was dirty. Well, I might as well use my skills, I thought. I cleaned the entire kitchen. And by 8:00 I changed into some PJs he left me. But I fell on his bed and fell asleep, with star sleeping beside me.

I woke up in the mansion. It was still early in the morning. I looked down, and saw that I was on my period in real life to. Great.... After I cleaned up the mess and took one of Maries pads from her room, (stealth mission) I went to wake up Katie and Caleb.

They grudgingly awoke, and were all to happy to take starlight of my shoulder and play with him after they were dressed. Score one for me!

I soon found out that I was not the only slave. Or maid, as they call it. There was cook, a nurse maid, and a butler.

They would arrive later today, with Jeff's dad he told me. Oh wonderful, another person to hate me. I prepared for there arrival.

When they did come, I wasn't that surprised by their appearances. The nurse maid, butler, and the cook looked completely normal. Next to them, I looked like the moldy part on white bread.... The master of the house. I was to call him 'master'

When he entered, I bowed and said "Welcome home master." He stopped and looked at me.

I stared into his eyes. He looked like an older more gentalmenish version of Marcus. He reached and took my glasses. "Do you really need these?" He asked without interest.

I couldn't look at him right, but I tried. "Y-yes, my lord..." I whispered.

He looked at me. "Well, speak up girl." He said.

"Yes." I said a little louder.

He looked to Jeff crossly "Why did you pick her? She looks so useless." He asked. I looked to the floor.

That's right, I'm useless. I'm a slave. I have no one I can talk to. I felt something rub against my leg. It was starlight. He mewed and purred. Master looked down at him.

"Why do you have a cat? I do not allow slaves to have pets." He said sternly.

Kaite ran up at that moment. "Kitty! Come back!" She scooped up starlight. She saw her father was there. Her smile vanished.

Master looked surprised. As if he had never seen kaite smile before. He didn't mention starlight again. He started to walk away.

He still had my glasses! Should I ask him for them back? I wonder? "Uh, um, m-master?" I called as he left.

He I couldn't see if he looked at me. Caleb came running out. "Did you find the kitty?" He asked kaite. He looked at me. "Where's your glasses? Can you see how many fingers I holding up?" He asked. I couldn't.

"Answer me! Come on!" He said happily.

"T-two?" I replied meekly.

"Wow, you really are blind. I'll help find your glasses!" He turned and ran into his dad. "Da-" he stopped "Father!" He saw that his dad held my glasses. He walked out of the room dragging Katie with him. The butler cook and nurse maid followed him, leaving me and master behind. Alone, near the door.

And I also couldn't see right. Why couldn't he just give me my glasses back? "M-may, may I have my glasses back.... P-please..." I asked him while looking at the floor. Why was I so scared? Oh right, every other master I've had has broken at least one of my bones.

He reached towards me. I flinched and closed my eyes. "Do you think I'm going to hit you?" He asked.

"Yes." I whispered, just loud enough for him to hear.

I felt him put my glasses back on my face. I opened my eyes back up, surprised and confused.

"Go clean my room, and set it up." He said as he walked away.

When he was gone, I slumped to the floor. Starlight came and sat next to me. "At least I got away without any broken bones, this time." I told him. He mewed at me.

I stood back up, and went to clean masters room. By the time I was finished, it was very late. I knelt down to staiten the covers on the bed, and I felt a sudden wave of drowsiness. I fell on the bed. No, I thought, I need to get up. My body didn't listen, and I fell asleep.

And natraly, I woke up in my dream. This is getting old.

I felt warm. I reached and pulled the warm thing closer to me and hugged it. It pulled away. I pulled it back and hugged it again. It pulled away yet again. I let it go. If the warm thing didn't like me I didn't care, stupid warm thing.

I felt the bed shift. I opened my eyes and saw Nolan. "Hhhmm?" I mumbled. I reached for my glasses and looked at him. He looked embarrassed. I wonder why?

I feel like changing perspective. Now it shall be Nolan's point of view for a bit. Deal with it. POV. means point of view.

Nolan's POV.

Why was she hugging my hand? Did she do that on purpose, or was she still asleep? I thought to myself. Ellen sat up and put on her glasses. Oh gosh, she's so cute. How could anyone abandon her?

"Are you awake now?" I asked her. She nodded, and flopped back down on the bed. Still staring at me. "Hello? Ellen?" I asked. I hoped she didn't realize I had been watching her sleep. That would be really awkward. "Well, I have a box of clothed the neibors gave us. We told them we're letting a girl stay with us for a while." I told her.

The cat I had seen around lately was next to her. It stood up, walked to her legs, and lay down on them. She sighed and sat up again, moving the kitty.

She stood up, and went over to the box. It had some nice clothes in it. Our neibors were very generous. She pulled out the plainest outfit possible and looked at me. "What?" I asked.

"C-can you, um, leave for a second...." She asked shyly. She was going to change her clothes.

"Oh! Yes! Um, alright, I'll be in the living room..." I left and shut the door. That was kinda awkward.... Awkwardness, my worst foe! I thought to myself.

I went and sat on the couch. Dad was going to be home tonight and tomorrow, so we had given the neibords invatations to come over for dinner. It was a double win, the neibors would be reminded that I was not an orphan and had an awesome cool dad, and we could introduce Ellen to them.

Win win!

Tonight though. Maybe I could show ellen around the town. I'm certain I'm the only one who saw her talk to the tiger, that's beast whisperer magic. Nobody likes that. She should be fine. Alright, I'm gonna ask her if she wants a tour of the town today! I thought to myself.

I waited until she came out, she still had that kitten with her, riding on her left shoulder.
