[OLIVER'S ROOM-AFTERNOON]

Rose enters Oliver's room and stops, staring: The room is completely destroyed. Footprints, broken furniture, shattered glass. Even worse: a massive hole in the opposite wall- something huge has blasted its way out. We see Oliver groaning from the corner.

[TENEMENT STREET-AFTERNOON]

{CUT BACK TO YIN}

as he looks around and realizes that Rose has disappeared from the crowd.

[OLIVER'S ROOM-AFTERNOON]

Rose crouches beside Oliver, who lies on his back, eyes closed and moaning. Rose tries to examine a small red bite on Oliver's neck, but Oliver keeps unconsciously batting her away.

Yin "Mrs. Scamander!"

{CUT TO YIN}

running with purpose up the staircase of Oliver's building.

{CUT BACK TO ROSE}

who desperately performs a Repairing Charm. The room righted, the wall repaired, just in time before Yin enters the room.

[OLIVER'S ROOM-AFTERNOON]

Yin hurries inside to find Rose, trying to look innocent and composed, sitting on the bed. She calmly seals the latches on her case.

Yin "It was open?"

Rose "Just a smidge..."

Yin "That crazy Niffler thing's on the loose again?"

Rose "Er- it might be-"

Yin "Then look for it! Look!"

Oliver moans. Yin drops Oliver's case and makes straight for the injured Oliver.

Yin (above Oliver, worried) "His neck's bleeding, he's hurt! Wake up, Mr. No-Maj..."

With Yin's back turned, Rose makes toward the door. Suddenly Yin emits a guttural scream as the Murlap comes scuttling out from under a cabinet and latches onto his arm. Rose spins, catching the creature by the tail and grappling it into the case.

Yin "Mercy Lewis, what is that?"

Rose "Nothing to worry about. That is a Murtlap"

Unnoticed by either, Oliver opens his eyes.

Yin "What else have you got in there?"

Oliver (recognizing Rose) "You!"

Rose "Hello"

Yin "Easy, Mr.-"

Oliver "Kowalski... Oliver..."

Yin takes Oliver's hand to shake it. Rose raises her wand. Oliver recoils in fear, clutching at Yin, who moves protectively in front of him.

Yin "You can't Obliviate him! We need him as a witness"

Rose "I'm sorry- you've just yelled at me the length of New York for not doing it in the first place..."

Yin "He's hurt! He looks ill!"

Rose "He'll be fine. Murtlap bites aren't serious"

Rose puts her wand away. Oliver retches into the corner, while Yin looks at Rose in disbelief.

Rose "I admit that is a slightly more severe reaction than I've seen, but if it was really serious- he'd have..."

Yin "What?"

Rose "Well, the first symptom would be flames out of his anus-"

Terrified, Oliver feels the seat of his pants.

Yin "This is balled up!"

Rose "It'll last forty-eight hours at most! I can keep him if you want me to-"

Yin "Oh, keep him? We don't keep them! Mrs. Scamander, go you know anything about the wizarding community in America?"

Rose "I do know a few things, actually. I know you have rather backward laws about relations with non-magic people. That you're not meant to befriend them, which seems mildly absurd to me"

Oliver is following this conversation, openmouthed.

Yin "Who's going to marry him? You're both coming with me-"

Rose "I don't see why I need to come with you-"

Yin tries to lift the only partly conscious Oliver from the floor.

Yin "Help me!"

Rose feels obliged to help.

Oliver "I'm... I'm dreaming, right? Yeah... I'm tired, I never went to the bank. This is all just some big nightmare, right?"

Yin "For the both of us, Mr. Kowalski"

Yin and Rose Disapparate with Oliver.

We focus on the photo of Oliver's grandma, once again hanging on the wall. Eventually, the photo gives a little shake before falling and revaling a hole in the wall, inhabited by the Niffler.
