Yes Father
Kaelyn near the docks of the isle, picking her way down to a cave that crashed against the rocks. Kobra was nestled in her hair, as her hands were occupied with handling the climb down. Waves crashed below her, so the snake was she not to disturb or interrupt the girl's concentration.
Her father lived in a remote area of the isle, that only he and Kaelyn visited. It was a grueling climb down that practically no one dare try. Most of the ones who did, ended up falling to their deaths. The few that made it down to the cave were killed by Kaelyn or her father. Fangs buried in their necks.
Kaelyn was a skilled climber, having to make the long hard climb more times than she could count.
Water lapped at her feet as she jumped down to the rocky ledge that was the entrance to the cave. "Dad I'm home." She said walking into the cave.
She saw her father wound up on the couch that the pair had.
Her father was no other than the famous snake Kaa.
One of the biggest mysteries to Kaelyn was how she was human. Her father was a snake when they were on the isle, yet Kaelyn was human. And she knew for a fact that she hatched from an egg.
She waved at the snake before sitting next to him. Reaching into her satchel she grabbed four eggs that she had stolen earlier that day.
Handing three of them to her father, she quietly munched on the fourth and final one. He thankfully sank his fangs into the eggs. Piercing them in a heartbeat.
The pair sat in silence, every once in a while Kaelyn offered a piece of her egg to Kobra.
"I heard your friendssss got to get off the isssssle." Kaa hissed.
"Yessssss father." Kaelyn tensed up.
His head lifted off the couch and he faced his daughter. "And why weren't you?" His tone took a tone that Kaelyn couldn't identify.
Kaelyn's eyes looked everywhere but him. "I-i wasssssn't invited by Prince Ben. My friendsssss were his choicesssss. If it were a draft you would of heard of it."
Kaa didn't look impressed nor pleased at the statement. "You misssssunderssssstand me Kaelyn." The girl shivered, Kobra moved to her shoulders to comfort her. "I'm glad you didn't go. Sssssomeone needssssss to keep the issssle in check. Ssssssomeone just about asssss good asssss Mal."
Kaelyn stiftened. "Are you ssssssaying I'm not asssss good assss Mal." A hissing laugh interupted her thoughts.
"You didn't get picked." If her father had shoulders, Kaelyn was sure he'd be shrugging them nonchalantly. "You need to be the worssssst on the isssssle. Sssssshow them all it wasssss a missssstake to pick them and not you."
"I'll do better." She said, nervous waves rolling off of her.
Kaa turned back to his eggs, but now before saying. "You better."
Kaelyn flinched before looking down to her lap. "Yesssss father. I'll make you proud."
