My phone starts ringing repeatedly and I groan and answer without looking at the ID. I give Toni an apologising look.

"Hello?"

"Maia! It's me! It's been a while" My old friend Gabriel said in a chirpy voice. He's form Greendale, he was my best friend.

"Gabe? Wow, yeah it sure has?" I say surprised and sit up properly and Toni looks at me eyebrow raised from the couch in front of me.

"I was actually thinking of stopping by, later on?" Gabriel says and I start smirking.

"I think you should. I really miss having you around" I say with a wicked smirk and Toni gives me a worried look and I stand up from the chair in the lounge.

"Maybe I could stay over for a few days?" Gabriel says and I look back at Toni who's trying to listen.

"I don't know—I've got a boyfriend now and all—""—I didn't mean it like that, dude. It's just I'm having a little trouble with my father and it would be good if I stayed away for a few days" Gabriel interrupts.

"Well, then you can stay for a few days" I say and smile.

"Great, I'll see you later then" he says and I nod before biting my lip in excitement.

"Okay, bye" I say and hang up. "Who was that?" Toni asks hurriedly.

"An old friend of mine. Why?" I ask and raise an eyebrow at her. "It sounded like something else.." Toni says drifting off to see my reaction.

"Nope. Never in a million years—Gabriel is not my type and I'm not his—I'm not blonde and wearing slutty clothes" I say and chuckle.

"Who's this Gabriel then?" Toni asks and cross her arms interested. Then I spot Sweet Pea and Fangs comes in punching each other's shoulders, laughing. Why isn't he like that when he's around me anymore?

"I need to go, maybe later I'll tell you our story" I say and wink at her before leaving quickly.

Later on when I got out of school, Kevin walked with me out to my car only to see a curly haired looking boy and I grin.

"I'd be damned—Gabriel?" I say and cheer before running up to him and hug him. He opens his arms and hugs me tightly before laughing.

"God! I missed you" Gabriel says and I laugh at him before pulling away. "Oh uhm—Gabriel this is my friend Kevin" I introduce and Kevin smiles widely. Like what you see, Keller?

"Nice to meet you" Kevin says and I smirk at him. "Nice to meet you too" Gabriel says. I smile widely and Gabriel and then at Kevin.

"God, I can't believe you're actually here!" I say in complete astonishment.

"Maia!" Voice shout from behind us and I look back seeing a red faced Fangs, an angry looking Sweet Pea with crossed arms and a Toni who looks back and forth between the two groups.

"Excuse me for a second" I say and Gabriel nods and Kevin stays with him and I walk up to Fangs and the other two with a smile.

"What's up?" I ask. "Who's that and what are you doing with him?" Fangs asks and I raise an eyebrow at him.

"He's a friend from Greendale?" I say questioningly. "So why is he here in Riverdale?" Sweet Pea butts in.

"As I said—he's my friend" I repeat. "Wait—is there a problem here?" I ask and look at Fangs waiting for him to say something.

"I don't know—is there?" Fangs retorts and I scoff. "Oh okay—we're playing that game" I say and cross my arms.

"I'm so not doing this—definitely not after last night" I fire at Fangs and scoff once again before turning my back on him.

He lets me go and I hear Sweet Pea hiss something at him. I ignore them and head back to Gabriel and Kevin who's talking well.

"Right, So—ready to go?" I ask with a smile. "Yeah, sure—is everything okay?" Gabriel asks and nods his head towards Fangs.

"Yeah, it's fine" I say and smile. "Okay, then what do you want to do now?" Gabriel asks smiling at Kevin and I.

"How about a party?" I say with a smirk and Gabriel looks at me with that old look he used to give me. "Always, Kevin? You in?" Gabriel asks and Kevin looks back at Fangs, Pea and Toni. "Y-Yeah s-sure" He says stuttering a bit.

"Great, let's go" I say and all three of us get in my car and then I race to the Southside. There's always parties this early.

We arrive quickly enough after small talking and Kevin asking Gabriel about...yeah pretty much everything.

"So, was that your boyfriend back there?" Gabriel asks and turns to me. "Yeah" I say and grip the wheel tighter.

"Trouble in paradise?" Gabriel teases. "Not anything to joke around with" I say and Gabriel's teasing smile is wipes off.

"Why? Is it because of me? Is he jealous?" Gabriel asks. "No. We're just having arguments without finishing them" I say and Kevin gasps.

"My second favourite couple are struggling?" Kevin says and I frown. "Who's your first?" I ask. "Jughead and Betty" Kevin answers.

I chuckle and park my car before getting out along with Gabriel and Kevin. "This is pretty much like in Greendale" Gabriel comments.

"Just like the old times" I say and smirk before we go in. "Just out of curiosity—What's like the old times?" Kevin asks me.

"Party and having fun, Kevin—that's like old times" I say and nod towards a group of hot shirtless gay guys. Kevin's eyes widen and he's taken away immediately.

"So, won't your boyfriend be pissed at you for this?" Gabriel shouts over the music. "Probably" I shout back and focus on the alcohol.

"Will he hunt me down?" Gabriel shouts again. "Probably" I shout back and laugh before pulling him with me to the kitchen to get something to drink.

Hours later I'm dancing with Kevin and Gabriel tries to get closer to Kevin, I don't know, maybe Gabriel's into Kevin? If I'm not mistaken—Gabriel is bisexual.

I smile at the two and lean up to tell Kevin I'm gonna go outside and get some air and he nods, Gabriel jumps in the air to protests and tries to make me stay, but I go outside without him.

I take a deep breath and see it's gotten all dark outside, how long have we been here?

"Maia—are you done?" An angry voice asks from beside me and I look over and see Fangs with his arms crossed, then I see Sweet Pea and other younger Serpents go inside.

"What are you doing? What are they doing?" I ask and I'm about to walk after them but Fangs arm stops me as he put it out in front of me.

"Seriously? You're not gonna beat him up—it's not like that! We're friends!" I try next thing I know I hear glass break and screams.

"Fangs!! Stop them!" I shout at him as he looks at me coldly and as I try to push past him he grabs me and pull me back.

"Fangs!" I shout at him and worry kicks in. What in the hell are they doing? Are they beating Gabriel because they think I would cheat on Fangs?

"Fangs, don't do this—please, stop them! Okay? There's nothing between us, we just went to party like we used to when I lived in Greendale, he was dancing with Kevin!" I exclaim and try to say anything for Fangs to let me go. But he doesn't.

"I don't care, Maia. I seriously don't care—you're coming with me, and this—party thing and getting reckless, is over, you're still injured, and you're walking around like you're untouchable and nothing can hurt you—well, guess what? You almost died! A part of me died when you said that you loved me for the first time—I was happy and I was feeling like nothing could hurt us—then I looked into reality and saw you dying on the floor" Fangs finally spoke and let me have a piece of his mind. I look up at him with tears in my eyes.

"Is that—is that why you're pushing me away? Why you're stepping on my feelings when I try?" I barely whisper and Fangs' face hardens. He nods slightly and looks away, he clench his jaw and I see his eyes glinting, he's holding in his tears, he's trying to be strong.

"I don't want us to be like this, I love you—you're my everything, Fangs. But, I don't want our 'I love you's to turn our relationship toxic, if we would just go back to before I got shot, it was perfect, wasn't it?" I ask and take his face in my hands he nods and a small smile erupts in his face, but it falls again as quick as it came.

"Then let's go back, let's start over, I can't do this without you, do you want to start over? Give us another shot and protect our love from what has happened?" I ask tears rolling down my cheeks.

"How?" Fangs half whispers and his voice cracks, he finally looks into my eyes and I see how broken he actually is, he's scared to death, the look in his eyes tells me he's terrified.

"We'll figure it out, we always do—like when you found out I was a Serpent, and—and when I got shot, we'll get through it, we'll make it right again, we'll make us right again" I say new hope blistering in me.

Fangs nods furiously and I bring his lips to mine. He responds, in a way he hasn't in weeks since I got shot, this is what I want.

"Fangs?" I ask as we pull away and he rest his forehead against mine. "Yeah?"

"Please, get the boys to stop—Gabriel and Kevin didn't even do anything—well, only to each other" I say and Fangs sighs before nodding. He grabs my hand and we go inside again, I see Sweet Pea and the Serpents surrounding Gabriel as his face is already bloody and Kevin watches in shock.

"Stop. Let him go, he's not worth it" Fangs calls out, Sweet Pea looks at Fangs then down at me as I hold tightly into Fangs' hand.

"Stay away from her, kid. If anything happens to her, we'll come and finish this" I hear Sweet Pea say and I step forward and Fangs looks down at me. "I need to help him" I say and Fangs nods and let's go of my hand softly.

As Sweet Pea and the others retrieve I run up to Gabriel and so does Kevin. "I really hate be saying this—but that—was so hot" Kevin says and I roll my eyes at him and help Gabriel up.

"I'm so sorry—""—It's okay, you did warn me, you said they would probably come—""—Yeah, but I didn't mean—""—It's okay, Maia. Go with him, them. Kevin can take care of me" Gabriel says and looks at Kevin with a wink.

"You sure?" I ask and step away from him and he nods. "Go, you have a boyfriend, Maia, you can't do like you used to, you've changed, I see that, and I'm not going to be the one to pull you back into trouble" Gabriel says and smiles even though his mouth is filled with blood.

"I'll see you around" I say and Gabriel nods and I walk up to Fangs and I intervene our fingers again and raise an eyebrow at me. "You're coming with me?" He asks.

"Yes, I am, I need my boyfriend" I say and smile a bit before walking out with Fangs. "It wasn't necessary to beat Gabriel up though" I butt in and Fangs shakes his head at me.

"But it's fine—Gabriel's okay, and he doesn't hold grudges" I say and chuckle a bit.

"I would've done it myself, just for him taking you to a party when you've just been shot" Fangs grumbles. "Look" I say and stop walking and Fangs does too. "I'm okay, you've taken great care of me, so has the rest of the Serpents, I've recovered. And I'm here to stay" I say and Fangs pull me into a kiss—which I don't have to think twice about before responding.
