"We need to talk, Maia" Sweet Pea's voice ring through my ear and I turn around to see him nod his head outside.

I excused myself from Toni and went outside with him. "What now?" I ask ready for another round of insults.

"Have you told him? Have you told Fangs that you're a....a—""—A Serpent? No. Not yet" I interrupt as Sweet Pea can't say the words.

"You should, soon. You and Fangs have been together for a few months now. You should tell him before you get closer than this, before he finds out himself—because he will, or someone will tell him" Sweet Pea says and I raise an eyebrow.

"Is that a threat? The only one who knows this is you and my mom—he hasn't met my mom yet and she wouldn't just blurt it out over dinner—so, if anyone were to tell him, it would be you. Now why would you do that?" I say and cross my arms.

"He deserves to know—I know Fangs, he's been through some pretty fucked up shit, the fact is that you two are still together, that surprised me—but that shows it's probably gonna stick. So, tell him before it's too late—if you haven't told him in the next couple of days, I will" Sweet Pea says and walks past me and bumps his shoulder into mine.

Well, fuck.

I lost my mood, I go straight to my car, as I drive home, I notice that a car from the parking lot was following me.

A black fancy car. A bit too—out of place on the Southside if you ask me.

I eye it suspiciously before checking my phone. Fangs were late and now I had left him. If he even decided to show up—he hadn't called.

I decide to pull over and wait till the car drove past me—but it never did. I get out of my car as the person steps out of the Black car and I march up to him.

"Are you following me? Who are you? Who sent you!" I shout as I near him. He looks around and then back at me and he gulps.

I push him back into his car and he puts his hands up in surrender. "Your mom sent me! My name is Charles, she hired me to follow you and protect you—she was worried someone was after you!" He blurts out.

I raise an eyebrow confused. Why would my mom do that? Because of my crazy ass uncle?

No, she wouldn't actually believe that crap. Would she? "You're lying—she wouldn't do that" I say and shake my head in denial.

"Call her, ask her—I'm not lying, I swear!" Charles says and I pull my phone out and call my mom, but eye him suspiciously while doing so.

"Mom? Have you hired a Charles to follow me?" I ask as soon as she picks up.

"Honey—I—it was for your safety! I don't know what you go around and do, you're gone and then you're home—I never know where you are. Your father was telling the truth, Maia—Clay is coming. He's coming for us, and I needed to make sure that you would be safe" she says and I deadpan.

"Oh come on! You would go as far as having your own daughter stalked?!" I hiss. "Not stalked—kept an eye on, when I can't on my own" she corrects and I roll my eyes.

"Sure that helped. Mom—call it off" I demand.
"No, its for your own safety" she says and I groan.

"Mom—""—No, young lady—you come home and we will discuss this further" She says and hang up without a comment.

I scoff and put my phone in my pocket before turning to Charles.

"She says she wants you to stop following me" I say and cross my arms. "She didn't. I know how she tells me to back down. Definitely not through you" Charles says and raises an eyebrow.

"Cocky asshole" I growl and storm back to my car. I pull my phone out and call Fangs.

"Hey babe—When you're done doing whatever you're doing, please call me—you ditched" I say as I leave a message on his phone as he doesn't answer.

I throw my phone in my passenger seat and start racing down the road to go home.

Charles follows me into until I arrive at my house, I storm inside and my mom is sitting in the dining room sipping a red wine and picking at a pasta dish.

"You hired someone to follow me!?" I exclaim.

"I haven't been completely honest, Honey—there's a reason I hired Charles. Clay contacted me. He threatened you! I was afraid he might come for you, I could not risk that!" My mom says and I look down.

"How long?" I ask and look up at her. "How long what?"

"How long has Charles been following me?" I ask and place my hands on the table.

"Almost tree weeks" she admits and I curse. "And yes—I do know about your Serpent boyfriend. He seems sweet in the pictures I've gotten. I assume he knows you're a Serpent too?" Mom says and I raise an eyebrow.

"Pictures? Charles took pictures too?! And no! He doesn't, not yet!" I shout in anger.

"I had to know you didn't see someone who could work for Clay!" She defends, but I shake my head in disbelief.

"I can't believe you, mom. The facts that this is something dad would do—shows you are the exact same" I say and shake my head before walking out of my house. My mom yells my name, but I continue to walk out.

I walk towards the bridge, I see Sheriff Keller race by and I raise an eyebrow. I run towards the bridge as Sheriff Keller hurry out of his car.

"Sheriff Keller! What's going on?" I ask as I run up to him. "Maia, stay behind me! Don't say a word" Sheriff Keller says and he hurried towards the bridge.

I see Betty and Archie stand there—Archie has a gun aimed at a man in a Black Hood. "Holy shit! That's him! The Black Hood!" I whisper.

"I said stop!" Archie shouts and as the Black Hood tries to jump from the bridge Sheriff Keller shoots the him.

I gasp and put my hand over my mouth. I watch in horror as the Black Hood goes down.
"Archie, put the gun down" Sheriff Keller shouts and Archie does.

"It's okay" Sheriff Keller assured him. "Sheriff Keller! Maia!" Betty calls out as I run behind Sheriff Keller as he aims at the Black hood's body.

"Stay back, Betty" Sheriff Keller says. He hurried up to the Black Hood and he kneels beside him and I run up to Betty and bring her into a bone crushing hug.

"He's dead" Sheriff Keller announces and tears roll down both Betty and I's cheeks. "Who is he?" Betty asks. The Sheriff puts his gun away and rips the mask off.

"It's Mr. Svenson" I mumble under my breath. "Give me the gun" Sheriff Keller says and Archie hands it over, after that Archie brings Betty and I into a hug.

Archie and Betty went to Pop's to meet Jughead and Veronica—they offered me to join them, but I couldn't.

I had to go home. I had to see my mom, after I saw a man get shot and die, I just need her.

Christmas morning came and my mom and I sat next to each other by the tree, gifts opened and talks opened.

I told her about the Black Hood and she hugged me and told me to feel safe now that he was gone, and that she was sorry.

I forgave her, of course. I had opened Cheryl's gift, Veronica's gift, Betty's gift, Archie's gift and Jughead's gift.

We all gave each other gifts, I had dropped theirs off yesterday. My boyfriend had also given me a present, it was a necklace, a beautiful necklace. I had given him 2 of those rings, he so badly wanted.

My phone then rang and Fangs name popped up. I excused myself from my mom with a blush and she winked at me.

"Hey, merry Christmas!" I cheer as I answer. "Merry Christmas, babe" Fangs says with a small laugh.

"I just called to say merry Christmas and thank you for the rings! They're awesome—and I'm gonna go and see my cousin for a few days—I didn't know yesterday, but he just called so, I hope that's okay?" Fangs starts rambling.

"Honey—that's okay, go be with your family, just call when you're back, okay?" I say and smile.

"Of course, I'll call you when I get there" Fangs says and I could sense the smile on his face.

"Okay, good, I gotta go, babe" I say and look back at my mom and she smiles at me.

"Okay, me too, bye" Fangs says and I give him a bye before hanging up.

A/N: I feel some snakes taking over Riverdale High soon! But—what about that uncle? And what about that tattoo that Fangs knows nothing about? The two days Sweet Pea would give Maia until he told him himself?
