Chapter 18: Misunderstandings
Veronica's P.O.V.
I woke up the next morning and saw that it was already 7:30. I turned and saw Wyatt sleeping like a baby. He looked so adorable. His arms were still wrapped around me possessively, making it impossible to move.
I smiled and I turned and kissed him. I felt his hand go to the back of my head, knowing he was fully awake.
"Morning, babe." he said.
"Morning, wolf-boy." I replied.
He lifted a hand up and placed it on my cheek. "Beautiful as always."
I blushed and giggled before kissing him quickly and getting up.
"I got to get ready." I told him.
He smiled before staying in my bed. "I'll wait for you."
I chuckled as I grabbed some clothes and went to the bathroom to do my morning routine. After freshening up and stuff, I decided on an outfit that would show my real side. It would show that I wasn't being fake to please others and that I was happy to have a werewolf by my side.
To finish it off, I added the leather vest with some fur from yesterday. I didn't feel like any makeup today.
I never wore anything like this. It was always neon blue or pink.
I walked out of the bathroom and Wyatt sat up as he saw me. His eyes lit up with joy and love as I smiled.
"What do you think?" I asked as I twirled.
Wyatt let out a possessive growl as we walked over to me. He wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me close to him.
"Stunning."
I giggled as he leaned down and kissed me. I kissed him back before grabbing my backpack and we both exited out through my window. He put me on his back and we laughed as he ran, getting us to the school faster than I thought.
+++++++++++
I smirked as I saw people looking at me. Some with amused looks, while others in disgust.
Wyatt would snarl at guys who wolf-whistled and I sent death glares to girls who threw me insults.
It increased once a few other werewolves walked behind us.
"I'll see you later, babe." I said to Wyatt as we got to my Language Arts class.
He nodded before kissing my lips. "I love you, Roni."
"I love you too, Wy." I replied as his forehead rested on mine.
He walked off, a few wolves following him before I got inside the class.
I walked inside and I saw zombies throwing compliments while some anti-monster students looked at me in disgust.
I gasped as I saw Addison in the front and she looked awesome with her new look. She noticed me and smiled, her eyes widened as I walked to the seat next to her.
"Ooooh, girl, I love it!" she said.
"I could say the same about you. Love the hair!" I added.
She looked back and forth to our outfits. "Omg, we're twinning!"
I laughed as more students kept coming in.
I noticed she had the box on her desk that held the necklace for the Great Alpha.
"Can I see it?" I asked.
Addison smiled and nodded as she opened the box and handed it to me.
I gasped as I saw the glowing necklace. "Wow, Addi. It's beautiful."
My best friend smiled at me. Suddenly, the necklace began glowing brightly and going crazy as I caressed it.
Why was it doing that?
"Roni, what's going on?" she asked.
"I don't know. It just started going crazy once I touched it." I replied.
I shook my head, shaking it off before closing the lid and giving it back to Addison.
"I'm happy for you, girlie. You found where you belong." I said.
"Thanks, boo. I'm so happy for you too. You found your mate." she replied.
I smiled at her before the teacher came in and class started.
+++++++++++++
Addison and I already had lunch together and we were now heading to find the werewolves so she would become one.
We walked past the election section, arms linked together, smirking at the compliments given my a majority of the students.
"Whoa! Bad hair day?" Lacey asked.
"Bad hair life?" Stacey added, gesturing towards me and my friend.
"I think it looks great." Addison said, gesturing to her look.
"Yeah, not so much." Jacey said, following by all three snapping their fingers.
"Addison, if you ever expect to be cheer captain-" Lacey started, but Addison cut her off.
"Well, maybe I don't. Maybe cheer team isn't for me after all." she retorted back with confidence, making them gasp.
"No, scram!" I growled..again?
They ran off in fear as Addison and I did our secret handshake together.
"Addison!" We turned and saw Zed running towards us.
"I'll give you guys a minute." I told her. She smiled and nodded as Zed came over.
I walked a couple feet away and waited until Addison began to walk towards me, but she went back, getting the box from Zed she forgot.
"Let's go!" she said with excitement as she linked her arm with mine and we went to search for the wolves.
We found them in the area where the trophies were at. I felt joy at seeing my mate. I don't know why. I always get happy when I see him.
"It's a good plan, Willa." he spoke as he held a blueprint.
"What plan?" Addison asked.
The wolves turned to us and Wyatt's eyes lit up as he saw me.
"We're going after the moonstone, But, it's top secret. You can't tell anyone." Wynter beamed excitedly. She froze as she realized what she said. "Bad wolf! Bad wolf!" she placed her fists to either side of her head.
"You're going after the moonstone now?" I asked.
"It won't survive the detonation." Wyatt replied.
"Then, let me join you. I'm ready to become a wolf!" Addison said.
"If you really are one." Willa replied.
Addison opened the box and I froze as I saw it was empty.
"Addi." I said lowly.
"It's gone." she told us.
"You lost it?" Wynter asked.
Willa was the next one to speak. "Do you know how precious a moonstone necklace is?! If she was serious about being a wolf, if she was the Great Alpha, she wouldn't have been so careless."
"No. I-I don't know how-" Addison tried to reason, but couldn't get the words out.
"Stay out of our amazing hair!" Willa said, flipping her hair and walking off, the pack following her.
Addison stood there before walking off in disappointment.
Wyatt looked at me. "I'll be back, okay?"
"Be careful, Wy. I mean it." I told him.
He took my hand in his before kissing my forehead. "I will. Once we get the moonstone, we're not coming back to Seabrook, since that's the only reason we're here. If you're okay with it, you're coming with us and will start living with me in the den, okay?"
It seemed to be the only way to escape the lies that my family is possibly telling me. I'd rather live with him than live in any more. I wouldn't have to live a lie anymore. Even if it meant always being with my mate and not worrying.
I nodded my head with a smile.
"I'll be back asap." he said.
"Don't rush. You need to find the Moonstone." I replied.
He nodded before he let my hand go and followed his pack.
He stopped a bit before turning around and kissing me. I smiled and kissed him back, with as much passion as I could. His hands caressed my waist as we pulled away.
"Okay, maybe rush a little bit." I replied with a smirk.
He chuckled before we both went our separate ways.
I walked in the direction Addison left and found her on a bench, head hung low.
"Oh, Addi." I said as I took the seat next to her.
"I let them down. It's my fault. I should've been more careful." she told me.
"No, it's not. It's just a misunderstanding. We'll find it, Addi." I reassured her.
"I just need my best friend right now." Addison sighed as she lay her head on my shoulder and I wrapped an arm around her, trying to help comfort her.
What could have happened to it?
