Chapter 14: Cheer Practice
*The Next Day*
Veronica's P.O.V.
I stood next to Bree as I had my pom-poms ready.
I looked and noticed Wyatt and the werewolves on the bleachers and when he winked at me, I smiled and blushed, making him smirk as the girl with the space buns nudged him with a smirk.
Addison came running in.
She blew her whistle and we all got into position. I smiled at my best friend, knowing she was going to do great.
"I'm so fired up to be running cheer practice. Together, we can do anything." she said, before some of the cheerleaders and Bree pointed behind Addison.
She had a look of confusion before turning around and seeing the werewolves.
"Sorry, but this practice space is for cheerleaders only." she remarked.
Oh, no. She's going to piss the werewolves off.
"Addi." I told her as I stepped beside her, placing my arm behind her.
"Ha! Just try and get us to leave." the werewolf with the space buns remarked as she stood up in a threatening way.
Wyatt immediately placing a hand on her arm to stop her. "Wynter. Some respect?" he told her.
I sent him a look that said 'I'm sorry' and he just shrugged.
"No, I don't want you to leave. I want you to stay. Show us what you can do." Addison said, before looking at me. "V?"
I looked at the werewolves. "The cheer team is for everyone."
They all looked at each other before they got down from the bleachers and joined.
I was next to Wynter as she looked at me. Addison helped everybody (the werewolves) get in position.
"5, 6, 7, 8!"

We all cheered and clapped as we celebrated our well-performed practice.
Wyatt immediately came over to me and picked me up, spinning me around. The both of us laughed before he set me down.
"You were amazing, Wyatt!" I told him. He gave me a quick kiss on the lips and I smiled.
As Wynter came over, he went to Addison and hugged her too. She hugged him too and they pulled away.
I felt a little pang of jealousy before I felt Wynter grab my arm.
"Hey, are you Wyatt's mate?" she asked.
"Yes, I am." I replied.
She gasped as her eyes lit up ad she hugged me. "Oh, my gosh! I've been waiting to meet you for so long! He never once shut up about you and I was anxious to meet you!"
I chuckled before she released me.
"Sorry about that, I just got excited because I just have a feeling we're going to be great friends!" she said. "I'm Wynter Barkowitz."
"Veronica Andrews." I replied.
Suddenly, she started coughing, resulting in Wyatt turning around.
"Wynter?" he asked.
I put my arm around her as she dropped to her knees. Her necklace was glowing a sickly green and her eyes glowed as well.
Once she caught her breath, I helped her stand up as Bucky came in, clapping.
"Are you okay?" I asked her.
She sent me a small smile and nodded.
"Well done, Addison! With werewolves on cheer, this election is so in the bag." Bucky's nasal voice spoke up, making me roll my eyes.
"Bucky, this isn't about politics. I always just felt like cheer could unite." she replied.
"You are going to make a great cheer captain!" he told her with smile.
"I'm gonna be cheer captain!" she announced.
I smiled brightly and hugged her tightly as we both jumped up and down, everybody clapping, even the wolves.
"Addie, I'm so proud of you!" I told her as I kissed her head.
"I was thinking the team could move beyond trophies and we can start an outreach program." she told us.
"Sounds like a good plan!" I told her.
"Cheer is about what I say it's about. And it's about winning." Bucky told her before he went off telling others to vote for him.
I rolled my eyes as I placed a hand on my best friend's shoulder.
I decided to go and help Bree with Wynter, since she still seemed a bit drained.
"Take her to the bleachers. Give her water or something."
Bree nodded.
I looked back and saw something I didn't expect to see.
Wyatt had Addison's hand in his own and the way they looked at each other made me feel jealous. He smirked at her as she seemed to be blushing. Addison moved a strand of her hair and I was right. She was blushing.
I began breathing heavily as flashbacks of Randall fitting and being touchy with other girls while we were together ran through my head.
What was going on? Why does my shoulder burn so badly?
She looked and walked forward.
"Zed!"
I saw Zed leave the gym with an annoyed expression on his face. He must've saw them together.
Wyatt looked at me and I couldn't even stand being in the same room as him.
Why is he flirting with my best friend?
"Veronica!" he called out.
I shook my head and went to Bree.
"Tell Addie I'm done with practice." I told her as I quickly got my jacket, placing it in my gym bag.
"Why? What's wrong? It's not even 2 hours yet." she asked.
"Nothing." I said as I put the strap on my shoulder and walked off.
"Veronica, wait!" I heard Wyatt call out.
I opened the gym door and walked out, ignoring Wyatt calling me.
As soon as I made it outside, I went to my motorcycle and strapped my bag to it before getting my helmet.
I quickly got on and ignited the engine. I just wanted to get out of here.
I managed to turn around, getting ready to leave the parking lot.
"Veronica, wait!" Wyatt came over and stopped me from doing anything else.
I glared at him. "Get out of my way, Wyatt."
"Roni, what's wrong?" he asked.
"Move." I said.
He growled before flashing his eyes. "Not until you talk to me!"
I jumped at his outburst. He looked shocked before he calmed down.
"Why are you flirting with my best friend?" I asked.
"I wasn't flirting with her! I just believe she's the Great Alpha that can save my pack! White hair and everything! You're my imprint! I'm yours and your mine for basically life!" he responded.
"That doesn't give any excuse to act like some sort of Prince Charming to her." I retorted as I revved my engine.
"You aren't the first one to make me feel this way." I retorted.
"Wait, what? Is there someone else?" he growled.
"Really, Wyatt? No, there isn't someone else. Why don't you ask Addison about it?" I asked.
"Roni-."
I rolled my eyes. "Stay away from me right now. My mind is not in the right place."
I put down the shield from my helmet and sped off, ignoring Wyatt yelling my name.
So much for a good cheer practice.
