From what I've watched I think this is the basic summary of Merlin:

Gaius: Merlin, don't do the thing.

Merlin: Okay I won't do the thing

Merlin: (asks dragon about the thing)

Dragon: You mustn't do the thing!

Merlin: (does the thing)

Gaius: Merlin, did you do the thing?

Merlin: No, of course not Gaius.

Arthur: Merlin, you idiot.
