Ok time for another one of my possibly bad ideas depending on who you are!

My idea is.....

Changeling Lance!

As some of us know, changelings come from my little pony...

They're like insects, they live in a hive ruled by one queen named Chrysalis who like a queen bee has given birth to them all.

{There is this thing with drawing changelings in a humanoid form.}

So many of us know how being a changeling works. They're like bugs, they fly around, they live in a hive-like colony, a group of them is called a swarm.

They can shape shift into anything they want.
In mlp Queen Chrysalis took the form of Princess Cadence, and kidnapped the real one.
They sometimes take the form of other people locking the original in a cocoon.

They don't eat food, they feed off of love and joy and all that good stuff. They're like joy suckers, they eat the love from other people and leave them feeling kinda empty. Except they can't produce their own happiness (not before the reformation I think but I'm not caught up.) So they need to steal it from other people.

Now that you all know what a changeling is, this is where I explain my AU.

Lance is secretly a Changeling person, his whole family is. They shapeshifted to look like a normal family of humans.

They originally come from a planet with many holes in it (cuz changelings have holes in their body and wings. Holes are their thing.)

Their planet is referred to as the hive and it is ruled by Queen Chrysalis.

Dis pretty lady. ^

But years ago they moved to earth.

Lance lives the life as a relatively normal life, or as normal as life as a joy-sucking changeling could be.

He goes the the Garrison and meets this ray of sunshine Hunk.
He was originally drawn to Hunk because of how much love he gives to other people. And how happy he is, especially when he cooks. He never seems to run out of joy and love. Which means Lance will never run out of food. And yes he likes Hunk, he's his friend but boys gotta eat.
He can eat food but gets no nutritional value from it. Without feeding on love he starves no matter how much earth food he eats.

He also meets Pidge, although they don't show too much love.

He eventually starts to flirt with a bunch of people. And always cracks jokes and goofs off to get people to be happy. But he does it as a means to get food. He has to flirt to live because again, boy's gotta eat.

He feels bad for being somewhat of a joy sucker, and he doesn't wanna leave people empty and depressed. So he makes sure that other people are super happy before he sucks a little of that happiness and love from them. And he takes a little bit from many people so they don't even know their emotions are being stolen.

He feels bad about it but hey, happiness and love are not a finite things, people can produce more. But a Changeling can't when it's gone.

Eventually that whole thing happens when they get shot into space.

Lance then begins to flirt with a bunch of alien girls, trying to get them to fall in love with him as a means to get food.

He always cracks jokes to get the team laughing, more so when he's hungry.
The team doesn't always appreciate it though.
At first the team shows him lots of love and affection so he always gets enough food. But eventually battles get more intense, people get more stressed, Shiro is gone, and no one appreciates Lance's upbeat mood and goofiness. Eventually Lance starts to starve.
He gets skinnier and paler and looks more sickly than he already does in his changeling form.

[I decided his changeling form would be

-Sligltly pale and greenish complexion

-Bright blue eyes with green sclera

-Slightly pointed eats with a few holes in it.

-Small insect-like wings with holes in it, yet he is still able to fly quite a bit off of the ground.

-Outfit has a few holes in it.

-Small horn on the center of his forehead that curves upward, and has a few holes in it.

-Sharp fang like teeth.

-Wavy green and blue hair

-A few holes in his arms and legs]

No one notices he's starving because he looks fine in his human form. He gets shit for messing up during training and in battle but really its because his body is weakening.

Eventually he's on the verge of death because he hasn't eaten in so long. They haven't stopped at any planets in a while so he has no one to flirt with. And the team isn't showing him any love.

Eventually the truth about his true nature is revealed and they see him in his true form. Allura comments on how slim he is and if that's normal for his species.
He ends up telling them how he is possibly going to die. He explains to them how he feeds off of love and attention. Think he's joking at first only to realize that he's dead serious. As often as he jokes around, real changelings are naturally serious beings.

He tells them that reason he always flirts and tells jokes is because he uses that as a way to get food. And he wouldn't do that if be didn't absolutely need to. But he can't force people to give him love, so flirting is a easiest way to pick up a quick meal.

The team starts to show Changeling Lance lots of love and affection. They feel bad for not showing him any even when they thought he was human.

Lance is kinda confused, he though they wouldn't accept him in his true form.

1. Cuz he looks scary as hell, all skinny and green and full of holes.

2. He fucking sucks the joy outta people for food, which is kinda evil.

Hunk gives Lance lots of hugs and cuddles and shows him lots of love. Lance never goes hungry again. He shows him so much love that Lance sometimes has to wiggle his way put of his hold because he's physically full.

Pidge always asks him tons of questions about his kind. How they work, what his planet is like, how they are able to convert love into nutrients.

Hunk gets Lance to taste test his food more often, knowing now that Lance gets no real nutrients from food and also doesn't feel full. Since he doesn't necessarily require food and eats just for fun, he can technically eat just about anything with little to no harm done.

Then Klance happens.

Keith does this thing where he transforms into a more Galra form and he looks scary as hell. Lance comes to comfort him.
Keith is confused as to why Lance is near him when he looks scary as hell.

Lance transforms into his changeling form and he's essentially like "bish! You think YOU'RE scary!? Look at me?!?"

Then Keith tells him how the team won't accept him because he's galra and the Galra are terrible people because of all the horrible things they've done.

Lance then mentally face palms. He proceeds to tell Keith of all the horrible things Changelings have done.

They colonize, they kidnap people, they suck the love out of people until they're hollow shells of their formal selves. He then tells Keith of the horrible things HUMANS have done. He explains to Keith no species has clean hands, they've all done something they're not proud of. And he bets that if they searched hard enough, they've find out something horrible that the ALTEANS have done in the past

This kinda makes Keith feel better. Eventually he calms down enough to revert back into his human form.

Then eventually Klance happens.

And Keith makes sure to give Lance a lot of love. Lance feels bad because it is believed amongst changelings that they are incapable of feeling love and joy. So he cannot feel the same way that Keith feels about him. He enjoys Keith's company, and he definitely enjoys all the affection he's being given. And he's especially honored because Keith doesn't act this way around other people which makes him in some way special.

Keith tries to convince Lance that he can feel love.

Eventually Lance reforms.

[Reformed changeling]

His skin becomes more radiant, his hair becomes bright blue and green, his horn is bright green. His wings have grown into shimmery blue wings, his holes fill up, and his eyes are a glowing blue and green.

In his reformed state, he is capable of love and feeling joy. He never goes hungry again as he is able to make his own food as long as his spirits are up. It does help if he's shown love though.

He goes back to his colony in his reformed state and shocks everyone. He tries to convince them that there is a better way to love, one where they are happier and never run out of food. One where they can show each other love and they shall never starve.

The queen doesn't want to change so easily, and they struggle to convince her that reformation is a better way. Soon many changelings reform. For a while there's a bit of conflict between reformed changelings and non-reformed changelings.

This is a whole AU I have in my head and have had in my head for a while. I always come up with scenarios in my mind for this AU. It's just it's kinda weird because it's mlp. I'd write a fic for it but idk if anyone would actually read it. So please tell me if you'd actually read something like this.

Also, until further notice this idea I'd off limits. I'd like to keep it.
