"Where is Ariel?! Doesn't he know that today we have lessons?" Sebastian asked out loud to no one in particular, however a passerby felt the need they should tell the poor crab about the boy's whereabouts

"Ariel? Pshh, if you're looking for him today you won't find him." The random mermaid said.

"And why not?"

"Don't you know? It's Sunday...every Sunday he always goes to the mainland."

Sebastian eye's nearly popped out of his head at the thought of the mermaid prince getting caught by some land dweller; in seconds his life flashed before his eyes, thinking that it might just be the end for him if Ariel's father were to find out about this.

Ariel popped his head out from behind the rock that was near the shore and looked around to see if he could spot the thing that has kept him coming back every Sunday. On cue, like the past month he saw the girl walk towards the beach in all her beauty. He couldn't help but be hypnotized by the way her legs walked towards the water. A smiled plastered to his lips as he saw her dip her toe in the water, to test out how cold it was.

He wondered if this was the day she'd get into the water, that's why he had first started to watch her. Every Sunday she would come get ready to go in the water but then for some odd reason she would back out. He guessed it was because of some sort of fear, sort of like how he would always get close to the land but never really touch it. He hoped that today would be the day she would swim out to him, he knew she could do it; She just needed to believe in herself a little more.

"So you're going to do it, right Ariel?" his trusty friend flounder asked, pulling him back in to reality.

Today was going to be the day he talked to her. He didn't know how...or even when he'd do it but he had this gut feeling that no matter what he'd finally get to hear her sweet voice say his name.

"You bet! I've waited long enough."

"But what if she freaks out?"

"Let's not think that far ahead...if she gets like that I'll worry about it then."

"Great plan" Flounder said with pure sarcasm

"Stop it!" He heard the girl yell as she tried to push two guys off her. "Let me go!" The pretty girl thrashed her body about, trying her best to get the men's hold off of her, but nothing worked; they were way too large for her.

He didn't know what the guys problem were, but whatever it was it was about to become his if they hurt a hair on that girl. And in that moment everything felt like it was slow motion as they threw the girl into the deeper part of the ocean.

The guys chuckled, somehow amused as the girl tried to keep afloat until at some point she didn't come back up. She must have passed out! Ariel swam over as quick as he could. When he was in close enough in reach he wrapped his arms around the girl's waist, and swam up to keep her above the water.

"What were you two doing!?" He yelled at the two guys that where still there. He gave them a hard glare before looking back at the girl who had her hand on his shoulder, passed out.

"We were just giving her a little push to help her swim, is all." They said nervously, not thinking how bad this situation could have turned out until know.

"GO!" Ariel yelled, to done to even comprehend the strangers words. He let out a sigh as he looked back down at the girl, he needed to get her to land but not in front of all these people.

You let out a grumble as you felt a small pain in your head ; you slowly sat up to see where you were to only find yourself on the part of the beach that you didn't know. You rubbed the side of your head before turning over to see a man's face only inches from yours.

You blushed dark red as you got a good look at all his features; His deep red hair and beautiful eyes, you didn't think a man could be so gorgeous.

"I'm Ariel, nice to finally meet you." He said with a bright smile

You blinked in confusion but told him your name anyways "Um...hello I'm Y/N"

"Y/N"He repeated to himself before nodding his head "What a pretty name!

You couldn't help but smile at him "Ariel is a nice name too."

Ariel blushed lightly, you finally said his name. He knew that it would sound cute coming from your lips but he never took into account how you'd look at him when you said it. Your Y/N eyes looking into his and the movement of your lips made him feel a little dizzy; this just proved how day dreams couldn't match reality, not even close.

Just then you let out a strange sound, "oh no...she saw my tail finally." He thought as he closed one eye and made a face like he knew he made a mistake.

"Mermaid!" You said, stating the obvious, making the male flinch, not wanting to hear the rest of the sentence.

"I knew they were real!" You said, showing him that bright smile that he always saw from afar.

"You did?" he asked with a surprised tone but the girl just nodded her head. Ariel couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle, what luck he had to fall for a girl who thought mermaids were real from the start.

"Ariel! Sabastian's coming! You better get back quick!" Flounder yelled out causing the boy to turn his head towards the ocean. He sighed, of course he couldn't enjoy this moment a little longer.

"Wait you can't go just yet! I didn't get to say thank you for saving me!" You told him quickly as you held onto his arm.

"You just did." He replied with another soft chuckle.

"I have a better idea." You said before kissing his cheek. "Thank you."

Ariel blushed lightly but a large smile grew on his face "no problem!...Well I better go before I get in trouble."

"When will I see you again?"

"Sunday!"

And that's how it began. Every Sunday the two of you would meet up in the secluded part of the beach and slowly but surely he got you to swim in the ocean with him. You weren't scared of water like you use to, not with him around. The two of you lived happily ever after.
