This has been in the back of my mind for quite a while, and I feel like someone needs to talk about it. I normally try not to get too frustrated over this kind of stuff, but it just.. struck a nerve this time.

This won't be one of my cringy "IT'S NOT CANON" rants, don't worry. I'll try not to sound too whiny in this, and actually make the points that I want to make.

So, continuing...

Recently, I've been reading about Fanfiction a lot on the internet. Not fanfiction itself, but about fanfiction.
People who write fanfiction, people's opinions on it, and other stuff like that.

I like looking at other ways that other people write, so that I can learn from that style of writing, and improve my own writing. Make sense? I watch and learn.

But recently, some people (and by some people, I mean at least half of the internets freaking population) have been giving fanfiction writers a really hard time.

They often say that fandoms shouldn't be ruined by other peoples "Cringy Fanfiction", and that we should stop doing what we're doing. Apparently we're the scums of the internet, because we take pleasure in writing about things that we love?

People seem to go by the stupid fanfiction writing stereotypes that they see. Usually these stereotypes aren't true, but some people just don't see that. Not all of us are 13 year olds, and not all of us just continuously write lemons about Justin Beiber. (No offence to people who are 13, and/or write Justin Beiber lemons)

Sure, if you were writing a fanfiction about Barney the dinosaur as an example.. not gonna lie, that'd be pretty silly. Put in a lemon or two and that would just be genuinely disturbing...

But please don't give us all hate for doing the things that we love. We write fanfiction to keep these fictional worlds going, after they're gone. We write to entertain other people who may not be able to themselves. Hell, we write to distract ourselves from the never ending pain that is reality.

Because some of us just don't know our own purpose.. so we give ourselves purpose by entertaining others. I'm not sure about everyone else, but writing IS my purpose. It's the one thing that I'm genuinely good at, and take pleasure in doing.

If you don't like our fanfiction, then the solution is simple: Instead of telling us that our stories are "cringy", or telling us to get a life, JUST DON'T READ OUR FANFICTION. Got it?

Are we all cool? Cool. Sorry for freaking out and whining about this, it just wanted to get that off my chest.

And sorry for not updating. I was trying to sort out some things going on, on a different social media.. luckily, I think I'm in the clear now.

But considering that Valentine's Day is coming up really soon, I might be on and offline at random intervals. Don't ask why XD
