Jem sighed, unable to decide what to do. He was there. At Blackfriars Bridge.

But she wasn't here.

Jem had finally got cured and had left Brotherhood to find that Tessa had gone. For whom he had lived since so long, whose face he cherished in his memories.

He sighed, indecisively. What purpose did he have now?

Should he go? To Will and Tessa and to everyone whom he knew.

Jem was still debating this when he heard a shout and someone yanked at his arm, pulling him away from the edge of the bridge.

Surprised, Jem found himself looking at a girl with dark brown hair and black eyes which were covered with brown glasses. She had an Asian complexion and seemed lightly on the shorter side and was glaring daggers at him.

"Excuse me", she said.

"But what were you thinking!"

Jem shrugged.

"Whether to jump or not."

"And why, may I ask?"

"I have no one left", Jem answered plainly.

The girl scoffed.

"That's no reason to end your life. Think about your family, watching from above. They would want you to live and enjoy your life to the fullest."

Jem thought about it and then grinned.

"Will would hang me upside-down."

The girl smiled.

"And as for having no one, we can solve that problem right now. I'm Chalice and I'll be your friend."

Jem smiled.

"James Carstairs. Nice to meet you."

A year had passed since that incident and Jem was glad he hadn't jumped off that day.

He adjusted his tie and smiled.

"Looking good."

Jem whirled around in surprise.

"Will? Will is that you?"

And sure enough it was Will, arm in arm with Tessa. The only difference was that they were dead. Ghosts.

Will chuckled.

"What? Did you think I would miss your wedding."

Jem flashed a smile. "No chance of getting rid of you then?"

"Definitely not."

Tessa shook her head in amusement.

"I'm glad you found someone. Now go, she's probably waiting."

Jem nodded and stepped into the hall. It was a small hall but it was beautifully decorated with pink and white flowers.

Jem stood their, smiling at the crowd. Mostly at Will and Tessa.

Then his focus shifted and his eyes landed on Chalice.

She was wearing a simple sleeveless white gown that shimmered with a flowery border and her hair hung in loose curls. She looked beautiful. No, radiant.

Right behind her were Whitney and Char, her two bridesmaids, grinning from ear to ear and then there was Kessie, the flower girl.

But Jem had eyes only for his beautiful bride.

Chalice smiled at him and he smiled back. They were just looking at each other for what seconds? when Jem heard the priest ask him if he admitted Chalice as his wife.

"I do", Jem said and smiled, as Chalice did the same.

"Happy Birthday", he whispered.

Chalice's smile widened.

"Thank you! This is the best day of my life ever."
