Background: Melanie was born in Guelph, Ontario, Canada to her two parents Janette and Richard Dallas, and is the younger sister to Michael 'Mike' Dallas. Both Mel and Mike had a bad childhood growing up, they're dad Richard was super abusive and never gave a damn about either kid. Then, one day he just walked out on the family when Mike was 7 and Mel was 5, and their mom, even though she tried super hard, just couldn't take care of the two kids by herself. So, Janette sent Mel and Mike away to Toronto to live with their mom's friend Aurora.
