Tw: Major Character Death, Crying

Remus and Roman sprinted through the forest, trying to get away from what was chasing them. Remus grabbed Roman's hand as they slid down a muddy section of the forest.

The continued to sprint through the forest before they had to stop, tired and hungry, they sat next to a tree deep into the woods. Roman's breathing was erratic, his eyes looking behind them every second.

"Hey, hey bro..." Remus gently took Roman's face in his hands, "We're okay, we got away." Roman smiled at him nodding slightly before sitting with his brother, taking out bags of food and snacks.

They both ate before Roman stood back up, "We need to keep going, there has to be an edge to this place somewhere." Remus sighed, "Roman, you're tired, I'm tired-"

"No!" Roman snapped, stomping his foot, "Who knows what's chasing us! It's something we've never seen before!" Remus nodded, "I know, but-"

"It took Virgil!"

Remus paused, looking up at Roman, who had tears shining in his eyes. Roman sniffed, but stood his ground, "It took him, right in front of us, and you want to stop?"

Remus' lips formed a tight line, blinking away his own tears as Roman began again.

"Like he was nothing. It killed him like he was some cheap toy." Roman fumed, tears cascading down his face.

Remus' eyes widened, "Roman..."

"I'm not finished!" Roman interrupted him with rage. Remus shook his head, taking in a shaky breath.

"Roman we need to go." Remus shakily said. Roman stopped, going to turn around before Remus tried to stopped him.

"Don't look!" Remus warned, but no, Roman already looked. A figure in black, their face glitched out with a sharp mouth, not even looking like teeth, more like black matter.

Something grabbed Remus from behind, Remus screamed in fear at Roman, "ROMAN RUN!"

Roman couldn't move, he stood frozen in petrifying fear. The creature drew closer as Remus screamed louder, "ROMAN NO!"

The creature opened it's hazardous mouth and began to sing to Roman, sing some demonic song.

"ROMAN DONT LISTEN TO IT PLEASE!"

The creature reached out slowly to Roman with a clawed hand as it continued, Roman remained still in terror as it came closer.

The creature suddenly dived at Roman, Roman screeching in pain before hitting the ground with a thud, his eyes remaining open.

Remus cried out loudly as Roman fell, the creature holding him and the one that killed Roman disappearing in a blurry mesh.

Remus fell to his knees, crying out for Roman as he crawled helplessly to his limp body, "Roman wake up! Please! Please..." Remus choked on his sobs, holding his dead brother in his arms.

"Wake up... Wake up. WAKE UP!"

Remus jumped up with a scream, tears soaking his cheeks as his chest heaved. Roman brought his hands to Remus' face in a worried frenzy.

"Remus are you okay?!" Roman questioned, trying to wipe his twin's eyes. Remus looked at Roman blankly before bursting into tears.

He grabbed Roman in a bone-crushing hug and bawled into his shoulder. Roman shushed him, rubbing his back and confirming he was there when Remus asked if he was.

"It was horrible..." Remus mumbled when he calmed down. Roman rose an eyebrow, "What was it about?"

The black creature flashed in Remus' head once more, making him shiver, he shook his head, clinging to Roman more. Roman took it as he didn't wanna talk about it.

"Remus? Just know, I'm here, and I will never not be."
