Black Mirror One Shot

The sand between your toes felt terribly weird. You hadn't been on a beach for decades but in San Junipero it was a common occurrence. The beach was a beauty to behold, and you and Yorkie visited it commonly to share a moment under the lowering sun.

You had been in San Junipero a while when you first met Yorkie. She was shy and new to the virtual world, but you did your best to help her become accustomed to the world. You flirted with her every second you could, to help her be calm around you and smile, even if you knew she didn't see much from it. Although it started as a joke to help make her comfortable, you did soon fall for her and even if she didn't feel the same you were happy to just be in a romantic setting, like the sunset at the beach together.

Although she was generally shy and reserved, she was even more withdrawn than usual. Her hand rubbed her arm as she stayed curled within herself as though bracing herself against the cold, but the evening was warm and welcoming.

"Are you okay York?" You smiled softly.

She nodded her head, but she was unable to make eye contact with you.

You turned away from the lapping tide, to star at the redheaded woman whom held onto your heart whether she knew it or not.

"What's wrong Yorkie?" You asked, resting your hand gently on her arm.

Yorkie let out a sigh. "I think I'm in love with you."

A smile curled onto your face unable to hide the beaming grin that was on your face. She was in love with you?

"You think, or you know?" You smirked, teasing her.

"I know," she whispered.

You grinned once again, resting your hands on her shoulders so that you could pull her into you. Your lips planted firmly onto her lips in a passionate and loving kiss.

"Well I know that I love you too."

Yorkie pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose, a coy smile on her face. You brushed a lock of her red hair from her face, leaning in to kiss her cheek.

"I've loved you for too long."

She smiled, kicking the sand softly.

"I've loved you since we first met, I just didn't think you could ever love someone like me."

You rolled your eyes. "I can only love someone like you."
