Veronica Lodge- Judge (h)
Riverdale One Shot
Moving into a new place was never going to be easy.
It was just going to be full of things you didn't understand, things that were completely foreign and things that some part of you just didn't want to acknowledge.
The prospect of moving away from everything you knew wasn't exactly something you were ecstatic about.
Of course, you understood that your Dad had gotten a new job and you couldn't really be left at home by yourself, so everyone got moved down to Riverdale.
Your little sister wasn't as bothered as you were because she hadn't been in school as long as you had, she didn't want to leave her friends, but she was more open to the change.
The new school was definitely the worst part about a whole new town.
No one there knew you and for some reason they automatically had a bad idea about you.
Granted back home you hadn't been the smartest person, had somewhat of a reputation but you never thought it would follow you to a new place.
Veronica was someone that had caught your eye.
She never seemed too sure about how to act around you but the things that people had told you about her gave you the idea that she was never really stuck for something to say.
You'd gone to the library in an effort to get some work done as at home it was still a bit crazy, not everything had been unpacked and whatever had been unpacked wasn't in the right place, so it was chaotic to say the least.
Someone sat down opposite you causing you to look up and take your earphones out.
"Veronica?"
She smiled a bit nervously. "Hi."
"I thought I made you uncomfortable."
"I never said that."
You laughed lightly. "Yeah, you never had to," you stated. "I know I flirt with you, but I wish you'd tell me to leave you alone."
"I don't want you to do that," she told you as she unpacked her books. "I just don't know what other people will think."
You leant on your elbows on the table. "I may have only known you a month or so, but you don't seem like the kind of person to care about things like that."
She giggled slightly. "Usually no, but with new people around it's different."
"You mean the new kid in town and the new person at school – yeah I get it."
"I don't mean anything bad by it."
You scoffed, shaking your head in disbelief. "Why does everyone assume the worst of me."
"It saves time."
"And that's why you're so worried about what people will think."
She shrugged. "Can you blame me?"
You began to collect your things into your bag. "In some way, yes I can."
"Why?"
As you stood up, you sighed. "Because you, and everyone else here, has judged me based on things you read on the internet and before you even got to know me."
"And you don't think the same thing happened to me?"
You laughed lightly, shrugging your jacket on. "So, you know how horrid it feels right?"
She didn't answer causing you to give her a pointed look.
"Yeah, just what I thought," you stated before picking up your bag. "Don't you worry Lodge, I'll leave you alone from now on."
