Tahani Al-Jamil- Vase (c)
The Good Place One Shot
Although you were basically in heaven, Tahani still wasn't satisfied with life. She had a gorgeous mansion which put her life before death to shame even though the life made everyone else shameful. Her home would be envied by anyone if the Good Place didn't offer you everything you wanted; even with that, it couldn't be perfect in the eyes of your soulmate. She did love her home but after living there for a couple of weeks everything needed to be rearranged as it wasn't perfect anymore. You didn't know how it could be perfect one minute and then not perfect the next but regardless you were going to assist Tahani with rearranging the building.
You had been put in charge with moving all of her clothes from her first bedroom to the next even though you liked the first better. She had so many clothes even though she could just ask Janet to put her in whatever she wanted but she liked having them in view to her in a massive closet that you were pretty sure was bigger than your house. It took you a while, but that job was done and she moved you on to moving some of her other belongings from the bedroom to their new home down the hall in a new arrangement.
"Okay I am going to take the rest of my shoes, grab something and bring it in for me to tell you where it goes," she grinned.
Tahani picked up several more boxes of shoes to go be added to the few hundred already taken whilst you were left to pick something. On her vanity you saw a large decorated vase that you knew she loved dearly so decided that should be the thing to go into the new room. Picking it up, you carried it into the new room allowing her to see the object and dictate where you should take it.
"I do love that vase," she squealed. "Careful not to break the – oh."
You had stopped her mid-sentence when you caught your foot on the rug and tripped. You were able to catch yourself, stopping yourself from falling onto the floor but you had managed to drop the vase. It fell from your hands shattering on the floor.
You inhaled quickly, feeling terrible for breaking something she loved.
"I'm so sorry Tahani," you apologised. "I am so terribly sorry."
She looked upset but she still held a gentle smile as she approached you, resting a hand on your arm.
"It's okay," she smiled softly. "I did love that vase and I am slightly upset but it can be replaced, at least you didn't fall over and injure yourself."
You wished that you could be worth as much as she was. She was kind hearted and you felt as though you didn't deserve her but you would just happy to have her.
