Robbie Jennings- Baking (h)

Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging One Shot

Everyone had their own traditions for around Christmas time – it wasn't an unusual idea to have something that you all did every year.

You never liked the idea of not following through on a tradition, even if it did seem slightly silly or strange.

Some people put their trees up on certain days, others had to watch a specific movie every Christmas Eve.

One of your traditions was that every Christmas Eve you would bake Christmas cookies to leave out for Santa.

Despite the fact that you were now in your last year of secondary school and living with your boyfriend and his brother and Mum, you still wanted to make the cookies every Christmas Eve.

You and Robbie had been together for just over a year, but you hadn't spent Christmas Eve with him the previous year, so he'd not had to bake cookies with you yet.

The two of you lived together because your parents had another baby, and there weren't enough rooms in your house, but your parents couldn't afford to move so Robbie's Mum offered for you to live with her and the two boys.

It was strange to get used to at the beginning, but you couldn't imagine not living with Robbie now that you were.

As it was Christmas Eve, Robbie's Mum was working downstairs in the shop and Tom had taken his girlfriend out on a date.

It had gotten to lunch time and the two of you were still lazing around in bed.

You turned over to face Robbie, who had dozed off again, and you couldn't help but smile at him seeming so peaceful.

That smile was shattered when he let out the loudest snore possible.

With a roll of your eyes, you shook Robbie awake.

"Good afternoon love," you greeted him as he opened his eyes.

He smiled at you before he tugged you down to lie on his chest. "Do we really need to get out of bed?"

You nodded in confirmation. "It's Christmas Eve so you know what that means?"

Robbie shook his head but the smile on his face gave him away.

"We better get started on our Christmas cookies!"

Your boyfriend groaned but in a joking fashion. "Do we actually have to leave them overnight or can we eat them?"

You giggled at him. "I haven't left them out since I was about six years old."

"Good so we can eat them," he stated with a smile.

As he didn't make a move afterwards, you started gently pushing him. "Come on, we've been lazy enough."

The two of you eventually got up and whilst Robbie was in the bathroom, you started getting out everything that you'd need.

Robbie came into the kitchen and immediately looked confused. "Do we not have a mix?"

You gasped jokingly. "Of course, not Robert Jennings – we work from scratch."

Soon enough the two of you had gotten into a rhythm of working and the cookies were looking somewhat in shape.

"I'm surprised you're doing so well," you told your boyfriend as you hopped up to sit on the counter.

Robbie turned to you from where he'd been cutting the dough. "What were you expecting from me?"

"I don't know," you shrugged as you spoke. "You dropping the dough, causing flour to go everywhere, just generally not well."

He pouted at you before he scooped up some icing and placed it on your nose. "Well you, my dear, severely underestimated my skills at baking."

You laughed as you wiped off the icing. "Can you blame me? I've never seen you bake before."

"And you've never seen me at Christmas before – my powers come out around this time of year."

His words sent you into a fit of more giggles. "You're a Christmas superhero, are you?"

He nodded with a deadly serious look on his face. "Of course, I am," he told you proudly. "I am your superhero after all."

You giggled again, leaning forwards to kiss him gently. "My Christmas saviour."
