Rachel Green- House (h)
FRIENDS One Shot
Everyone always had that need to belong somewhere, to be somewhere that was their own and knowing it was your own helped so much.
You'd never gotten to a stage where you felt as if you could move somewhere that was you own or move somewhere that you could live with someone who you loved.
You loved your friends of course, but not that kind of love. The kind of love where it was a partnership, a relationship that you could depend on the other no matter what and they could be your rock whilst you were theirs.
Sometimes it would be difficult, and nothing would ever be perfect however it was worth a shot to make it as perfect as could be reached.
It was only because of Ross that you had met Rachel – somewhat awkward circumstances understandably.
The two of you didn't really hit it off to begin with, but the upside was that you became her friend first with no intention of getting with her.
As classic as the situation may have been, the two of you moved from there and it developed over time but three years later the two of you were talking about doing something more.
Rachel had come to meet you at your apartment for the day, as you had lived by yourself for the past year or so.
"Hey Love, come in."
You greeted her at the door and the two of you soon settled into your usual positions on the sofa.
"How was work yesterday?"
She shrugged, settling herself into the sofa more. "It was a work day, never exactly ideal but my boss still trying to get with Chandler."
You laughed as you reached out to hold her hand. "Just tell her to stop."
"I can hardly tell my boss that – Chandler is the only thing making her happy around us."
"Well I want to talk about one thing that could make the both of us happy."
She smiled. "You already do."
You giggled, nodding in agreement. "I know that, but this is something different," you explained, rubbing the back of her hand with your thumb. "Remember how we talked about us taking the next step and finding a house?"
Her expression turned to confusion, but she nodded anyway.
"Well I had a look in the paper and made a few calls, there's a house not far from here that is up for sale."
She gasped as her hands moved to cover her mouth. "Are you being serious?"
"The viewing is later today, but if you don't want to then-"
She pushed you jokingly. "Of course, I want to!"
"Then how about a coffee beforehand?"
She stood up, her excitement growing by the minute. "We get to have a house!"
