Elena Gilbert- Bite (c)
The Vampire Diaries One Shot
You wouldn't say that you were impressed with Elena's decision. Going to the Salvatore Boarding House wasn't your idea of a reasonable decision but for some reason she trusted Stefan and Damon and wanted to spend time with them regardless of the fact that you had no trust in either man. They had never personally wronged you, but you were weary of vampires and seen as they were both blood sucking creatures, you feared them.
Elena was practically your sister by any value of the word other than biology. You knew she had experiences one too many struggles for a teenage girl and you wanted to do everything in your power to make her life easier. She didn't need some guy betraying her trust or worse, a vampire attack.
She spent almost all her energy trying to get you to agree with her going to the boarding house for a few hours and with a fair amount of reassuring, you had conceded. You technically couldn't have stopped her if she had wanted to leave but she appreciated your opinion and wanted you to come to terms with the two men so that you might learn to trust them. Even if you agreed to the visit, you were apprehensive and frankly terrified. In an attempt to reassure you, she told you that she would be home before dark, so when the sun had begun to set, you couldn't help but pace by the front window, trying to look out for her.
After a few minutes of pacing, you saw her come out of the darkness, running down the front path to the front door, flinging it open. As she entered the house, she slammed the door behind her, breathing heavily, hands upon her knees and doing her best to calm down.
"Elena!" You exclaimed instantly worried about her. "What's wrong?"
She tried to stop panting but needed a second longer to calm her breath. "I didn't realise the time, so had to run home."
Normally that would be a reasonable excuse to you, but you couldn't help but notice that everything wasn't quite as they seemed. Elena wore a shirt and scarf that she had not left the house in this morning, nor could you imagine would be found in her wardrobe.
"What are you wearing?" You questioned.
"Oh... um... I borrowed something from Stefan. I spilled something down my shirt."
You narrowed your eyes at her, almost certain that the words leaving her mouth were lies. Knowing you only had one chance to attack, you lunged at her, grabbing hold of the scarf, unfurling it from around her neck. Upon her bare neck were two small puncture wounds that you had come to learn was that of a vampire bite.
"Was it your blood that had spilled?" You exclaimed.
She let out a sigh. "It's fine... it's nothing really."
"One of them bit you Elena," you shouted. "You were attacked by someone you trust but you said that it was completely safe. It clearly isn't."
"Please Y/N, let me just have a shower, and leave you to calm down a little, then we can talk about it," she smiled softly, trying to calm you down.
You let out a huff but nodded your head, knowing she was too stubborn to allow anything else.
