Fallout 4 One Shot

Being back in Sanctuary gave you a feeling a safety, even if you knew there wasn't anywhere that was safe anymore. Life was so different to how it had been, you may have your old home, but it was practically destroyed, and your husband and son were nowhere to be seen. You had loved your husband, but you couldn't focus on her, he was dead, and you were alive, you had to live even if the world did its best to destroy you. You had met many people as you travelled the Commonwealth, gathering friends and people who believed in you and you felt responsible for making them keep a smile on their face.

Even though you wanted everyone to keep a smile on their faces, you struggled to stay positive.

Having just spoken to the people of Sanctuary, you had quickly retreated into your home, letting the smile fall from your face, running a hand through your hair letting out a rather large sigh. You couldn't let anyone know how hopeless you felt as the only reason people survived was their hope for a better life, a life that you were hoping to provide for them.

Tears were brimming in your eyes but before you even got a chance to sit down to ponder your life that you never thought would occur, the front door to your home opened, a brunette head popping around the door.

"You alright?" Piper smiled warmly.

"Yeah," you sighed, rubbing the back of your hands over your eyes to do your best to get rid of all of the tears that were fighting to fall.

"You're lying Blue," she stated closing the door behind you, coming over to sit with you, placing her hand on top of yours.

"I'm sorry."

She smiled at you. "I knew this would happen at some point. You're always so positive, no one can be that happy."

You gave her a weak smile, hating that the facade had now been broken even if it was just between you and Piper.

"I'm sorry Piper. I just hate to see people lose hope. In this world all we need is hope. Once you lose hope you lose everything, I can't let that happen to anyone."

Piper wrapped her arms around you giving you a warm squeeze to comfort you. "The happiness of the people isn't just down to you, you're allowed to be sad and have an off day."

"Thank you Pip," you smiled. "I just think I need a day to clear my head then it will all be okay I think."

"There's my girl," she grinned. "Just rest and everything will be okay."
